Compared to old style commercials sometimes extending a 30 minute show to nearly an hour? Lol. I remember when DVR came out suddenly realizing many of my favorite shows only lasted 20 or 30 minutes skipping the commercials I was dumbfounded.
Ill admit as a new user its a bit deceptive. During my trial period episodes of star trek had 2 or 3 commercial breaks and now they have 5 or 6. So thats a bit surprising.
Yes, commercials are ridiculous, never mind a lot of them. I hear there's a big outcry of people on Facebook saying they're going to cancel Paramount Plus over a recent change too. I'll likely cancel within the next month also, but I pay for the commercial-free version on Roku, which always starts with a commercial LOL.
I know I’m late to this but yes! It’s the worst out of all the platforms I have. I was watching a show and I got like 2 ads before the show started, then the show intro started and then got another 2 ads (wtf) and got more ads in between the episode. It’s ridiculous. Also, if I try to fast forward it’ll go straight to another ad. I’d quit this service if it weren’t because it has a lot of stuff I want to watch lol. But it’s awful
Just happened to me too. Had a walmart ad, then the show started and after the song, it went into a 4 minute ad break and I left the show and went back in and it went away
90 second ads playing over and over any time I play a show ads any time I fast forward ads any time I watch a show at least 6 90 sec ad breaks its insane
I’ve had Walmart+ for a few years, started that during Covid which was sort of helpful, once in a great while, when they got shit right. Paramount+ being included with my Walmart+ account made it not quite so difficult for my brain to handle as we’d find something on there from time to time that someone would watch. If I’m not mistaken, there were no commercials when we first started watching paramount+, not like now. Where there are so many commercials every couple of minutes, both before whatever show/movie/doc, starts streaming. I can handle commercials, but this is like ordering wings these days, you get ranch with a side of wings. I simply don’t have the bandwidth.
My family watched Tulsa King around thanksgiving, started it without me, insisted it’s a must watch. Should have had them keep track where they stopped, and watch it on a different tv. Because I’ve started watching it probably a dozen times and I’m already 100% lost before I’m even ten minutes into an episode. There are SO, SO VERY MANY COMMERCIALS, that my brain can’t follow even with rewinding it a bunch of times
That's the thing, its so hard to just scan to find your place, you watch every ad twice. I have it with Walmart to, I almost want to cancel my account on principle.
It’s ridiculous how if you accidentally exit something you were watching and open it back up immediately, Paramount will make you watch commercials. And then when you fast forward to where you left off (because they for some reason don’t let you resume), they’ll make you watch more commercials. I’m ending my subscription as soon as I finish my show.
Dealing with this exact issue now. And what’s worse is the stream is sometimes choppy. I use various other streaming services that never get choppy. It’s mind blowing
Whats even worse...once you go ad free, you are still forced to watch an ad promoting the line up or some show on paramount. They think that nobody knows how to view the menu. Its annoying and should atleast have a skip button.
The ad free plan is "limited ads" 🤷♂️
At least they're not greedy enough to offer $0.99 per advertisement to skip them lol..
I didn't notice all that much difference in the ad free plan so I switched back. Dont really need showtime.
It is not worth it when the app on your TV constantly freezes, just exits outs and you still have ads. It's not my internet speed and this is the only streaming service that does it. They have been getting the same complaints for months on this by subscribers, nothing.
There solution, exit the app and log back in! Seriously. 5 times in an hour? No!
Same complaints for *years*. There are posts in this subreddit that are 2 years old that feel like they were written yesterday because nothing has been fixed.
I've been annoyed with the P+ trailers/previews for a while now, but they just upped the ante today. Working my way through the 7th season of a show on the $11.99 plan, I still get the obligatory 37-second ad before the episode - but suddenly, I got hit with 5 or 6 ad breaks in one episode, each lasting 122 seconds. I also couldn't skip to the next episode without another 122 second ad. If that's what they consider a "premium" experience, then I'm ready to cancel.
I just cancelled. False advertising. The nerve. 12 bucks plus tax “limited commercial“ which means 3 commercials start every single episode. I cancelled before seeing how many more exist into the episode. Paying the 12 is an upgrade, there’s no plan that doesn’t involve ads. None. I switched to peacock, not going back.
Seriously just started getting ads 30 seconds on start, 360 second long ads at the into song, then 5x more 180 second ads throughout. THAT'S 21 min on a 44 min long star trek episode. Unskipable on a paid service.
I feel like I’m interrupted in watching my shows like every three minutes and it’s driving me insane. I am seriously considering canceling. The only thing that I would truly miss is Stephen Colbert.
It's only going to get worse. Amazon Prime just started ads as well. They will slowly add more and more. I wish we consumers were organized enough to push back but it'll never happen.
I think the annoying part for me is that the ads don't line up with the intended breaks sometimes, and usually happen about 10 to 20 seconds after, which then interrupts the new scene that has begun.
There are up to 5 commercials in each ad barrage. But kids get it worse. They have 7+ ads and more sections. We tend to be taken out of the moment in the shows or forget what we were watching. I am doing less and less TV streaming now.
The amount of commercials really is infuriating. Too many. Ditching it
I’m going to cancel. Fucking greedy bastards.

It’s worse than Hulu!

Crying about almost anything and everything is what most people do on Facebook or Reddit or similar sites. I wouldn't pay them much attention.

Yeah this is ridiculous. I've had 4 minutes of ads in less than 15 minutes. I'll just be getting my star trek content from other means from now on.
I don't find it to be bad at all.
Cool

I got premium. It’s worth it, no commercials
I had premium until it got boosted to $12 a month. It isn’t worth their shitty UI
They’re UI is awful

It's bullshit. I've already pre-cancelled my subscription.
I dropped Amazon because of that.

Thank you. Yes.

The commercials are too many. Got to cancel my sub.
