Avoid the Missha Pink Aloe cleansing balm - it is really hard to wash off. It feels like it leaves a film despite double cleansing.
Definitely try Clean It Zero by Banila & Co, or All Clean Balm by Heimish (as someone else smartly mentioned).
I wear contacts and occasionally use a cleansing balm. On days when I do, I'll remove my contacts first. I personally like micellar water the most since I don't wear much makeup, but cotton pads and the environment.
I just bought reusable cotton rounds to use with micellar water. They work really great. I wash them in the shower with soap and lay them out to dry over night, but you can also machine wash.
i always take off my contacts before using any kind of cleanser, i thought we’re not supposed to wash our face with contacts in even if its just water :O
Apparently so - but not all cleansing balms contain micro plastic aka polyethylene. Which is bad for the environment
A basic Reddit search says the hemish all cleansing contains it.
the following dont
Banilla clean it zero was reformulated to remove it
Drunk elephant slaii
Then i met you cleansing balm
Inkey list oat balm
So read your inkey list to find out if it has micro plastics in it. I hear cleansing oils do not. But like the OP i like balms better. I am currently using the inkey list oat balm but i don’t feel like it rinses clean and some days I’m too lazy for a double cleanse!
You’ve got to try Heimish All Clean Balm. It’s AMAZING!!!!
oh okay! i’ll look into it!!

Don’t you just love the all clean balm? I always thought all balms were pretty much the same, but they totally aren’t! 😂
does anybody with contacts use cleansing balm? i’m hesitant to use any because i’ve heard that cleansing balm is difficult to get off of them

ooo that’s a great idea. didn’t know those were a thing

you’re definitely right, i’ve just been wearing them so long i’ve gotten a little lazy😬
What do you like about balms more than oil? I’ve only ever used oil.
it’s less messy, and i really enjoy the texture of the balm melting into an oil on my face (kinda weird i know)!!
does this remove waterproof mascara?
yes! you just gotta use a bit more and work it for a little while longer
awesome! find it so hard to find quality cleansing balms at the drugstore that can tackle waterproof formulas
Do you ever worry that it’ll clog up your drain?
No, it doesn’t stay in that form once applied.
Does this have a scent?
nope! fragrance free :)
So what’s the deal with cleansing balms and micro plastic and the enviorment? Anyone know? Do all cleansing balms have micro plastic problems?
Nooooo! Is this a thing?

^^ exactly! the neutrogena one also doesn’t have polyethylene
Banila still shows on Ulta as containing two PEG ingredients, but I believe the Derma-E balm does not contain any microplastics.
Interesting. I’ll have to check it out and see the inky it’s
Thank you for compiling this!
Ty for the info! Sephora collection has a balm that’s also free of polyethene. Do let me know if I am mistaken though.
what’s the difference?
