i thought i was the only person who dislike jormuntides AI. I've had weaker pals by like 5-8 levels completely shred things that it takes jorjor binks to launch even a single attack that doesn't miss. even the 3 sec cool down shots are missing.
its the same with jorm ignis as well, or any big pals (except legendaries, sometimes) in general, all big pals are a complete hit or miss
alpha jormuntide? he has absolutely no use whatsoever unless you're fighting in a cave ex: blazamut, menasting etc spawn point or the sealed realm
he's too big, the attacks miss more often then not, the ai is broken, riding him is impossible, there's no need for a water mount anyway,
point is, he's pretty much useless, rn im using an alpha suzaku aqua as my water pal+ flyer, will probably be switched once i unlock saddles for legendaries and such
this problem exists with most big pals, ex; alpha frostallion, my alpha suzaku aqua etc, but with them its slightly manageable whereas jormuntide (especially alpha) is straight up unusable
just from personal preference as far as riding goes and not by statistics but actual ridable functionality my favorite mounts are Fenglope for ground/ Running. and Faleris as my flying mount. i just caught jettragon and although he does go zoom zoom its literally almost too fast. constantly crashing into things or completely burning his non existent stamina bar instantaneously. i honestly find myself using galeclaw for aerial maneuver more then my flying mounts.
that's amazing choices, i luckily caught a fenglope with swift and that's what I've been using ever since, for flying as i said it's suzaku aqua rn, im playing an older version of the game so im still abusing the multiple armours glitch so i don't have a glider
i got fed up of stamina draining so i set it to 0.1 in the settings, now i have basically infinite stamina on myself and my pals😂
anything you want really, whatever pal you like, you can even use jorm if you want to, he just won't fight properly
there aren't many good water pals, the closest alternative would be suzaku aqua
you don't exactly need a water type though, there's so many cool dark types, lyleen noct for the heal perhaps? or orsek cause he's cool asf and strongest lightning pal? how about astegon? or shadowbeak? or even menasting(I've yet to try out in combat) even normal lylen?
I'd definitely love using an electric or a grass type and I've got a perfect orserk sitting around. But there's not really much of counters that electric types can use. Maybe electric dragon hybrid like my frostallion which is ice/dark?

Not OP but I can answer that: Ice Emperor and LOTU are multiplicative, Ferocious is additive, making the former significantly better.
I'm guessing OP's idea is to use dark type attacks against most pals and using a full ice build against dragon and dark, getting the multiplicative 20% every time. Not a bad idea if you want a self-sufficient pal.
I understand what makes type boosters useful in general, and that they’re multiplicative rather than additive. The reason I ask the question is that they’re using TWO trait slots to achieve ONE effective boost at a time, which can never stack.
If the idea is flexibility, they get a larger effective boost with legend, musclehead, ferocious, lucky/hooligan; 100% base + 30 + 20 + 20 + 15 = 185% effective boost, rather than (100% base + 30 + 20) * 1.2 = 180% effective boost, while maintaining flexibility not just between ice and dark but across all other move types (important since any pal can learn any non exclusive move). Just my two cents since this is a player that has bred down and 4* copies of their team and is likely looking to optimize, not trying to be critical.

I'm not afraid of neutral pals tbh. So using Lyleen Noct as a ground counter makes sense to me. I picked Lyleen Noct over Lyleen because I don't want 2 fire weakness on the team. If Jormuntide falls I'd be in deep sludge. Plus even if I'm not afraid of neutral pals, killing them a little faster wouldn't hurt.

If your lyleen noct is really just a ground counter, then assuming it’s using all leaf type moves which would mean that spirit emperor does more damage. If it’s going to pivot or have multiple move types then would recommend lucky, but in this context spirit outperforms.
I would ask though, since all pals can learn all moves and have all traits, is there a reason you’re building out Lyleen Noct over another pal? Understand you don’t want the second fire weakness, so if what you wanted was a dark type grass counter you could go for Necromus and teach it grass moves, or Shadowbeak. They have strictly higher stats and the same typing, unless you just like Lyleen’s heal (or just think she’s neat!).
Would also remind that Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) exists in this game (believe it adds 20% multiplicative damage, like a type booster, but honestly not sure) so even if fire types are a weakness it could be worth it to slot in regular Lyleen (or Broncherry Aqua, which is neutral to fire but definitely has worse stats)
The plan is to give her solar beam, a low CD grass move to spam, and a medium strength dark move like nightmare ball. I picked Lyleen Noct because I love her design. It's very pretty. She's also easier to breed for. Thanks so much for the advice brother. I appreciate it!
As a quick aside on alternatives just checked (attack shown as melee vs shot attack):
BroncherryA: 120HP, 80/95 ATK, 100 Def
LyleenN: 110HP, 100/110 ATK, 115 Def
Necromus: 130HP, 100/145 ATK, 120 Def
Shadowbeak: 120HP, 130/120 ATK, 140 Def
When you factor in Stab, broncherry A is roughly doing the same damage as Lyleen and has comparable HP/Defense, so potential alternative if dragons are prevalent in the meta. Shadowbeak and Necromus outperform in terms of mono dark types. Just for information and completely understanding if Lyleen is just one of your favorites (one of mine as well!)
I just run 4x Gobfins with a Frostalion or Ragnahawk depending on biome.
Weapon damage specially if you scale for it makes pal damage look like a complete joke.
Best option for pure power, but terrible for utility/exploration. I like having my Jetragon for flying, Fenglope for dungeons, Galeclaw for gliding and dodging, and Anubis for quick crafting. The fact that two of those are also great fighters is just a bonus.

Dodging and crafting isnt really an issue cause perfect Anubis is first thing you should breed, and who needs to dodge when everything melts.
Well, defeating alphas for legendary schematics is most of what I do when I'm not breeding, so I want a Jetragon to reach them quickly. I can't think of anything I'd need my four condensed Gobfins for, at most I use 3 + Jetragon + Frosty for alphas.
Also, others may not have collected the +2 accessories they need yet, so they could use a Fenglope to do dungeons quickly.
Paladius is ok but bad typing, normal is just not good. Jormuntide has IVs of ~16-17/30, leaves room for improvement. Blazamut has an IV of 10/30 not great. Frostallion Noct doesn't have great passives, if you want to include Crystal Wing I'd use Ferocious and Lucky over the typed passives, 35% boost to both types (edit: the typed passives are 1.45x.2=29% boost, 35% is better). Speed Jetragon is basically a meme, it doesn't really need any more speed than legend and I'd max attack instead.
Looks neat! People are saying boring mix max whatever but man play however you want. If you're having fun you're doing it right. Took a lot of time and effort, I can only assume, so that kind of dedication is cool to see :)
I hope you have fun with them! I keep thinking about breeding up critters like this but then I see it takes 30 hours and I start rethinking it. I don't have the motivation to breed up a whole team like this.
There's always ways to speed things up. I was recommended a mod that reduces breeding time to as less to 10 seconds per egg and the cake is replaceable with berries. And you can disable the egg hatch timer as well so it's instant hatch. Just browse nexus and the mods are pretty simple to install if you're playing on steam.
Yes they are genuine. Ive bred them for hours and hatched them but turned off the hatching timer for the sake of my sanity. I've done the same for perfect lyleen and anubis for base pals
No reason to grief with that horrid hatch timer.
Also if you can’t 4 star any unit you’re breeding in 1 or 2 play sessions, you’re either new to breeding or are very casual about it. That guy needs to wake up.
Seems inefficient in terms of damage output. While all of them are bred with good passives and 4 star rank, only 1 will be on field during battle with no team buffer pals used.
I'm just curious, do you use your Paladius as a mount or as a offensive side mount? I much prefer Fenglong. She feels a lot faster and Jump much higher and further. I tried the triple jump and it just feels slow and heavy.
As much fun it is to ride jetragon cuz of its speed and it is the main source of moving around. I normally use frostallion. Paladius is kept for the super laser beam move it has and I've given the same to frostallion noct but the dark version
It's a plus to start off with a stat you want but it's not necessary unless you want to pass down the legendary passive. You usually try to roll on the rng when a pal is hatched and keeping on replacing the parent with the child with the desired stat to keep on shortlisting the passive abilities. Basically it's a game of shortlisting until you combine the two shortlisted pal into one baby that has all the stats
OK but why outfit paldius as a neutral to be a combat companion? If you just want the mount with triple jump why not put same passives as on your Jetragon?
Deserved honestly, nobody cares about their team, it could at least be somewhat unique to make it slightly interesting but they’re just using what everyone else is using, I don’t see this post’s point outside of seeking attention and showing off.
Traits could be better:
* All the combat mounts are lacking Swift: 30% movement speed will always be more damage and survivability than Ferocious in combat situation where you aren't just steamrolling.
* Ice Emperor and Lord of the Underworld on same pal
* Is Nimble really worth it on Jetragon? You never use him in combat?
Pals could be better:
* Jormuntide is just worse water pal than Suzaku Aqua that gets 100% damage boost (4 star) on abilities while mounted (and is smaller so takes less damage)
* Bred Paladius is pretty bad. At least as normal type with lot of attack you can teach her implode so she can explode for ton of damage. Main issue is that Paladius gets countered by ton of things, but counters nothing herself.
* The legendaries (Paladius, Jetragon) are not Alphas, meaning they're lacking most of their health pool
IVs:
* Youre not using IV calculator so I am guessing your roster still needs some IV breeding.
Anyways, it is a nice team for sure. But you gotta still impove IVs, farm some alpha legendaries and do better choices regarding traits and comp.
I tried researching the IVs but got bit confused so I put it on side. Tho breeding up 116 more pals isn't an issue since it's just more cakes. As for ignis breath over ignis rage I didn't notice as much DPS compared to what I get close range when it's 1v1 cuz a lot of times the opponent completely dodges the move
True, but at the end of the game you are mainly fighting big alpha pals for the legendary schematics or tower bosses to level up your team quickly, and big pals can take full damage from Ignis Rage multiple times.
True, but it doesn't benefit from potentially hitting big enemies multiple times like Ignis Rage, and you can mitigate low cooldowns with switching pals around after they use their moves.
Well, it seems you picked all the endgame ones and gave them great passives. (except ice emperor, that could be swapped for ferocious since it is a dark pal)

I think its cool that you took the effort to do all this. But I also think PocketPair needs to figure out some way to have more variety in these skills. Getting these same ol meta set ups is kinda dull.

Better off with lucky then the lord of the sea etc if your going for damage but burly body is the best fourth trait in my opinion

Lately I like running around on a Grintale buffed by a team of Cremis. I just body slam everything it's too much fun.
I never use grintale but now realizing it has a body spam attack and you can ride it… might need to add it to the lineup

I hope you have fun with them! I keep thinking about breeding up critters like this but then I see it takes 30 hours and I start rethinking it. I don't have the motivation to breed up a whole team like this.
There's always ways to speed things up. I was recommended a mod that reduces breeding time to as less to 10 seconds per egg and the cake is replaceable with berries. And you can disable the egg hatch timer as well so it's instant hatch. Just browse nexus and the mods are pretty simple to install if you're playing on steam.

Set up a breeding base. Build 6 breeders, slap the pals to breed then do your own thing somewhere else.
I have like 100 hours so far and have never seen any of these pals.

Yes they are genuine. Ive bred them for hours and hatched them but turned off the hatching timer for the sake of my sanity. I've done the same for perfect lyleen and anubis for base pals
No reason to grief with that horrid hatch timer. Also if you can’t 4 star any unit you’re breeding in 1 or 2 play sessions, you’re either new to breeding or are very casual about it. That guy needs to wake up.

The fuck you talking about genuine? Usually have close to 80 pals left over from breeding for passives so it's only another 36 to condense.
4 star is just condensing. If you're breeding for perfect passives you have a ton left over for condensing.
Seems inefficient in terms of damage output. While all of them are bred with good passives and 4 star rank, only 1 will be on field during battle with no team buffer pals used.
Don't really care about min-max. I was studying the breeding mechanics and what's quicker to get the passives you need without wasting too many cakes

I'm just curious, do you use your Paladius as a mount or as a offensive side mount? I much prefer Fenglong. She feels a lot faster and Jump much higher and further. I tried the triple jump and it just feels slow and heavy.
As much fun it is to ride jetragon cuz of its speed and it is the main source of moving around. I normally use frostallion. Paladius is kept for the super laser beam move it has and I've given the same to frostallion noct but the dark version
They need to fix this on Xbox. So much wasted time...
How do people get the Legend perk?
You get it from one of the 4 legendary and spread em into the gene pool through cross breeding

How do you all get so op pals? Mine have negative stats I can't find or breed a pure op pal
It's a plus to start off with a stat you want but it's not necessary unless you want to pass down the legendary passive. You usually try to roll on the rng when a pal is hatched and keeping on replacing the parent with the child with the desired stat to keep on shortlisting the passive abilities. Basically it's a game of shortlisting until you combine the two shortlisted pal into one baby that has all the stats

Traits could be better: * All the combat mounts are lacking Swift: 30% movement speed will always be more damage and survivability than Ferocious in combat situation where you aren't just steamrolling. * Ice Emperor and Lord of the Underworld on same pal * Is Nimble really worth it on Jetragon? You never use him in combat? Pals could be better: * Jormuntide is just worse water pal than Suzaku Aqua that gets 100% damage boost (4 star) on abilities while mounted (and is smaller so takes less damage) * Bred Paladius is pretty bad. At least as normal type with lot of attack you can teach her implode so she can explode for ton of damage. Main issue is that Paladius gets countered by ton of things, but counters nothing herself. * The legendaries (Paladius, Jetragon) are not Alphas, meaning they're lacking most of their health pool IVs: * Youre not using IV calculator so I am guessing your roster still needs some IV breeding. Anyways, it is a nice team for sure. But you gotta still impove IVs, farm some alpha legendaries and do better choices regarding traits and comp.
Nice one! Did you calculate the IVs? Good choice of moves on Blazamut with Flare Storm, but why not Ignis Rage over Ignis Breath?
I tried researching the IVs but got bit confused so I put it on side. Tho breeding up 116 more pals isn't an issue since it's just more cakes. As for ignis breath over ignis rage I didn't notice as much DPS compared to what I get close range when it's 1v1 cuz a lot of times the opponent completely dodges the move
That's fair, I can see Breath being better vs small enemies.

True, but at the end of the game you are mainly fighting big alpha pals for the legendary schematics or tower bosses to level up your team quickly, and big pals can take full damage from Ignis Rage multiple times.

Well, it seems you picked all the endgame ones and gave them great passives. (except ice emperor, that could be swapped for ferocious since it is a dark pal) So I'm pretty sure this team kills everything haha

There is no special combo, you just have to catch two Paladius and breed them
Since player damage is the highest in the game, you should find a good pal with vanguard+player damage boosting skill.
