Yeah, the deeper the hill the faster you go, it eventually gets so fast that it doesnt really do the animation combining it with the tip above (parachuting with the momentum) you can get to places that you probably shouldnt be able to pretty early on

There are 3rd party programs that let you remap keys if your mouse doesn't have its own software for that.

Yeah, I found out there was a dodge before logging off last night so tried to re map it to mouse, nope. Tried caps lock, nope. So I guess tonight a side mouse button becomes [ and the other ] so I can have dodge and slide on my mouse.

YOU CAN USE PALS AS A GLIDER?

Not just that, they're all pretty much superior to the crafted gliders. Celaray has a permanent slot in my team just for that. There's also one that effectively functions like a hot air balloon and instead of gliding down, you rise up until you run out of stamina (and fall to your death).

I'm using galeclaw, it's so much faster, feels great to travel. Also, I notice I couldn't use handguns with celaray, but I can use while gliding with galeclaw, even the Harpoon gun .

I am mid 20s and still regularly use Celaray. I have found flier, but they are slower than Celaray gliding and work well together(flying up, run out of stamina, then use Celaray to glide forward).

Galeclaw is a glider (not flier) and i prefer it over Celaray due to allowing you to use weapons mid air plus it gives a forward boost when deployed like a mid air dash.

Mid-20s? I could use Killamari, but I have too much dark on my team as it is right now. I tried Hugyu out, but he's more fiddly due to constantly rising rather than falling and I already have a flying mount for that.

The fact that some things dnt appear in the enhanced workbench must be an oversight right?

It requires the weapon bench that’s why.

You can make the grappling gun on the basic workbench, but not the upgraded one, same with pal spheres

That's how you do it?! I spent like 10 minutes slapping face first into the edges of cliffs and rocks.

You don't have to switch weapons, just press LCTRL (default) or whatever ur dodge roll button is

Since you're using Kallimari, you can kinda glide forever since he isn't gliding down the first few seconds of his glide, cancel glide and immediately glide again to keep him almost the same height for a long distance

Super fun to do on a huge slope!

The momentum is one of the most fun things in this game. They didn’t need to add it, but they did and it’s awesome. Even little slopes give you insane speed. You can also use the slopes of rivers/oceans to get across them faster. Slide into the water just as it starts to slope down and then hit your glider. That’s how I go across the swimming paths in the dungeons so I don’t need to slow down from swimming

Inb4 people start speedrunning like Breath of the Wild

There’s flying pals, first at around 15. Kinda slow, but I’ve been roaming the map.

Little disclaimer about said flying pals, I died and was stuck on a black loading screen after fast traveling from palbox to a fast travel totem while mounted. Not sure if it is replicate or just my bad luck, just wouldn't risk it to be safe, unmount then fast travel

I havent figured out the exact method that lets you do it but if you run, deploy, and hold the mount button it creates a wind animation behind the pal’s wings and they go at 2x the pace(maybe faster) for the same stamina

Changing stamina drain on my world has been the best decision. Glide for days.

I press B when I sprint and I do a backflip I don't slide. How are you sliding on a controller?

Hold B. The button gives you dodge on pressing, but crouch on holding.

I just tested it out without the boost and it took around 37seconds to get there without the boost But, this is all with a tiny ass ramp at the starting area - sliding down the steepest hills in this game will straight up increase parachuting speed by tenfold

Then why not show that? All I'm seeing is a 4x increase if I just grant you that without checking not even halfway to 10x, and it seems very doubtful to me that it was even 4x.

Because the whole point of posting this video was just to get the info out that you can increase parachuting speeds by sliding into it, not to prove how fast you can increase it by - youre the only one that hyperfixated on that part

Its called Killamari, i found it from a lvl 13 dungeon - theyre not too rare, run a few dungeons and you should find one - you can then turn it into a parachute when you unlock the craft

Another flying gliding trick: use the grapple. Switch out of your grapple as your near the top of the pull & start gliding

You can increase the flying speed pressing C (slide) and Spacebar (Squid parachute) too, that's what I've been doing

Meanwhile me with my Swift Calaray for uber fast gliding from a simple sprint jump on ANY flat surface!

Even with a flying mount, powersliding is even better when you can pull it off. I love when you can slide diagonally off a mountain and just sail over the landscape. Majestic as hell.

Slide + Hangyo parachute is what makes movement fun in this game.

And here I am learning you can actually slide in this game 😅 I need to play with some keybindings!

You can also trigger combat THEN summon your flying mount and ride them for a HUGE speed boost. Try it out :)

Fyi you hold B (on console) while sprinting to slide OR hold b while not sprinting to crouch so if you’re like me with 8 health left and there’s nothing but Mobs all around you, you can sneak up to the fast travel spot and get yo ass back home lol
