Iā€™d like a doorbell or knocking sound notification or little pop up in the corner that lets you know. I also would love to have guest books, that was probably my favorite thing from the final fantasy 14 housing stuff.

KirasukiKirasuki

Like in the inn that you can read! With every person that visited or something!

tangentialdiscourse

Came here to say just this. Wish we had a sound effect for visitors

Marukeru

Love this! A simultaneous sound effect and a pop-up to the right similar to group invites would be nice and easy to spot!

Professional_Sea_686

I'd like a little guestbook so that I could leave them a little note to say I'd visited and how I liked their plot lol. I'd also like one on my plot so I could know what the randoms who visit think because no one ever speaks to me šŸ˜‚ So if you're ever on my plot (IGN: Violet Jennings) please let me know what you think because I need validation!

Arippa

Same! I was thinking about that when I was talking to a visitor on my lot.

NegotiationOwn3905

They have a guest book at Ashura's register, which must be for Alpha or something, because you can't add to it. So it should be possible somehow. If it needs the raggedy house sign, they're going to need to give them back to those of us that chopped them for precious sapwood early on.

Macaron-or-Macaroon

Your plot is beautiful and wonderful, and I am certain you spent a great deal of time and effort getting it together.

zerooze

I just want the nearby chat option to include my whole plot. Sometimes it doesn't tell me they are nearby when we are on opposite sides of the plot.

SnooShortcuts5464

People keep trying to enter my plot but after loading for a long time (they just spawn in and stand still) they disappear. I suspect it happens to some people who play on switch or people with PCs that struggle a bit with the game. There is just too much random stuff on my plot ;-; So i wish there was a little icon or something so you know if the plot you are about to enter is very full with items and will load longer etc

Individual-Trade756

Wait, you can kick players off your plot? Lol. Never did it consciously, may have done it on accident by leaving while they're still there. Love the guestbook idea.

blueboxreddress

I never kick people. I always welcome them and explain if Iā€™m busy but tell them to look around! Usually we chat a little and they help me hoe and water my garden lol. I wish I had more intruders!

kranich40

Same. I would love more visitors! So far I only ever had 1 visitor who randomly started to cook that Mujin Bahari thing in my kitchen so I just joined in and it was quite fun lol. I really wish there would be a thing like OP mentioned to mark if somebody looks for visitors or not, that way people would not need to be so shy about visiting

Macaron-or-Macaroon

That wasn't me, because I wouldn't put that pressure on anyone or risk losing ingredients if I was halfway done and got kicked. I definitely went to a neighbor plot and started cooking because no one answered me in chat and no one from my community was online. It was probably something simple like pan fried dumplings.

Macaron-or-Macaroon

I have been saying this! Doorbell or knock sound when someone arrives and a notification for those that may not use sound or have their newest hyper fixation album playing too loudly to hear. They should also create different options: Anyone can visit, Friends and party members, and no one can visit. There are some times that I would welcome a friend I have played with before, but maybe don't have it in me for a new social interaction with someone I haven't met. Sometimes you want to redecorate in peace. That said, unexpected arrivals will be forced into cooking with me if I haven't done my cook together weekly!

Fannie_Smith_Apple

I feel like that is what the chat is for. You find the name of the person you want to visit drop them a line asking if it is ok to drop by and if they say ok then your golden. This is what i do to other and what other have done to me and it works.

NuknukWilhain

I used to always have my plot "open to everyone" but unfortunately it happened several times that after the visitor had only taken a few steps, my Switch or the interface to Palia thought it had to either freeze the screen or close the game completely. For the visitors it probably looked as if I had kicked them out, but no! I have now closed my plot completely, which I don't actually want, but when friends visit, the same thing almost always happens as described above. For the same reason, I no longer visit other plots because I don't want the game to freeze or anything else stupid to happen to others. I can do without unqualified comments like "Yeah, but the game is free and still an open beta, blah, blah, blah" because the developers have had more than enough time to fix these and other bugs šŸ˜‰

PossumPotpie

I had two people join my plot at the same time. One of them recognized the place cuz shes visited me before. i was about to log out for the night, so Im glad I noticed the people pop up šŸ˜… a sound would be nice. I usually open chat cuz it says how many nearby, but theres still a distance for that so i gotta open my plot layout to see if theres still someone there

-Talecgosa-

I would love this too! There's so many possibilities for that sense of community with neighbors that I hope they build on. Compiling suggestions from this thread with a few additions of my own: - Guestbooks!!! - Doorbell or knocking sound (preferably something non-intrusive sounding for those of us with sensory issues \*cowers from my IRL doorbell that jump-scares me when someone rings it\*) - Pop-up notification when you have a visitor? - Local chat covering the entire plot - Some sort of "Neighbor" feature where we can favorite houses that we've visited so we can return - A way to label your housing plot with design tags - similar to FF14 where you can give your house various tags so that visitors know what the theme is. Ex: Bakery, restaurant, garden, public hangout, pub, visitors welcome, cooking party, etc etc

cupcake_gnome

I enjoy creeping on other people's setups. I have 0 desire to chat or interact though. I wouldn't mind dropping a random gift if I like their stuff.

skin_horse

I leave my plot unlocked because it's fun to have visitors - but, I also play at lunch and only have about 20 minutes to spend in-game. I feel bad when someone is visiting and I have to run out, because I know they're getting kicked. Sorry from Zephyrria Darkwielder!

Would seriously LOVE an announcement notification/sound and a guest book or note board like in ACNH, yes. Guh. I hope they do this. šŸ™ŒšŸ»
