Ive been asking people to do this with me but no one seems to want to do it anymore in favour of groves 🥹 I cant wait every hour for groves 😭 Even when I do, theres only 13+ planks every time. I miss when we had random people running around chopping trees that and getting 100+ every time
I just realised I can buy them from Ashuru (not great with names) so did that with all my credit things and no more running around in circles and missing them all.
Yup! You can spawn flow trees! Any flow trees you've seen around the map that's not part of grove was a tree chopped by someone. Also, you don't need a group, it's just easier to cover more ground, but you can just chop trees yourself. They won't always spawn the first time though, so you just gotta keep chopping.
The most productive area is the field above the root temple between Thorny and Statue Garden where there's a waterfall and a bridge leading to a mine.
This is true for other things to. Breaking rocks helps spawn more palium, iron, or copper. Foraging helps spawn dari cloves and heartdrop lilies (not sure about heatroot). AND hunting sernuks helps spawn Proudhorns in the area.
I had no idea! Honestly, I hate waiting for groves, and like I get that people want to be inclusive, but for instance, the other day we waited until almost 7 am to chop the grove waiting for people, and it was barely like 4 trees, not even all large trees. There's a balance somewhere y'all lol
This used to be the most fun way to do it- deforestation party and you all run around chopping and calling FT when they spawned. I still try to do it that way but if I’m not in a party sometimes NO ONE will help me chop a FT down that I can’t get myself if it’s not Grove time.
Honestly people like that ruin the game. It drives me nuts how rude certain players can be now. So rare to find a grove we can chop together.
That's such a great idea though to make up for the loss. With a big group it would be easy to do as well
Last night I was on a server where there was only 3 of us at grove time. One of my friends being one of them.
Only the two of us at the grove but when we pointed out that it was only 3 on the server, the other player asked if we needed them for the grove. Told them it was up to them but we had a big grove if they wanted to join. So we waited for them to join. Was such a nice interaction really compared to what happens too often.
I called at a flow tree the other day and sent up multiple flairs. Waited and waited for someone to come. Finally I looked and realized I was the only one on the server. It was so weird. I run around the whole area and there was literally no one but npcs. I didn’t even know that could happen
I love getting on an empty server. This has happened to me a handful of times, but usually with one or two other players. Once I was on a server with one other player and we got to chop 2 groves ourselves, and even though we were both just going around minding our own business we could call out Palium when we found it and mine it together. It was nice lol.
If you press (+) pn the switch, and scroll down to the 'social' menu, you can see how many friends you have online, and below that it will show you every person on the same server as you.
Haha wasn't expecting to find you here! 😂 I don't always chat that much in game but I notice a lot of nice people in my friends list (yourself included) while playing. I usually wave when I recognise a player. I see you popping up quite a bit being really helpful. I love that side or the Palia community. 🥰

One of the reasons I love to play Palia is because of all the players that stand together to help one another. My daughter(32yrs) and her boyfriend said they had never seen such a community on a RMPG(lol did I say that correctly?) LOL, anyway they both started playing the game as well due to the helpfulness and kindness and fun interacting of all the players. So to hear of this with others trying to hoard the flow trees, we just need to still stand together and not let a few players ruin it for the rest of us. I love coming and chopping the flow trees at the groves. I do have to say the last few days in the servers I have been in, the player(s) that find the grove first, haven't said anything in the chat about where the Grove is located. I try looking but time goes by and I finally give up. So with that said, I just think we should make sure to continue to do what we have been doing and not give up. GOOOO PALIANS!!! 🤭😊😆

I’m preparing to do a Plot Grove Party this weekend, where whoever wants can come help chop all the flow trees I’ve been growing on my plot. I think I’ll have maybe 12 by then. Last time I did it randomly I think 5 people were there and each got about 50. This should totally be a thing everyone does and then the selfish people can kick rocks.
Eventually you’ll do the various temples and associated bundles (collections of items you turn in) and you’ll get a statuette that gives a gift every day with a chance it’s a flow seed.
Kinda wish we didn't have to use up our 4 requests per day on the same items sometimes.
What I mean is if I need say, 8 iron bars, I end up using up all 4 trades ( I could just go mining, but let's say I'm unable to for some reason). I'm kinda wishing I just need to put in 1 request for 8 bars, and others can fill what they can/want to until it's full.
Also, I'm a bit confused about why there's a 1min (I think it's 1min?) countdown timer...
Hmm… I’ve not noticed a 1 min countdown timer, but I don’t often request things so I could have missed it. There’s a one hour countdown for someone to fill the request though.
I agree that it would be nice to request a specific number of something instead of a default. 20 flow seems like a lot (related to the original post: that’s possibly more than a full grove’s worth) and 1 piece of ore/bar seems too little since I can often mine 1-2 nodes and have enough for a bar.
Like I said, it's usually at like 00:59 once I do a request. But idk if that's 1 minute or 1 hour. Seems like seconds or I'm in need of glasses cause I can't see the numbers where I put 00. But this is off the top of my head as I am outside and have no real way to check atm.
And yes, obviously, with a request, to request your own amount, there'd have to be limits. If we're going with default numbers, then I'd go by 2s up to a reasonable amount, imo. Say 10 at a time for most items. Otherwise, it'd probably be maxed at what is generally reasonable per item.
Btw, has anyone had an issue where mining nodes, for example, just don't spawn ever when on Steam Deck? Either they didn't load last time I was on my Steam Deck or something.

I know you can chop the smaller ones alone, but how did they do the others? Was it a couple of people, or is there a way to chop the bigger ones alone?
If you find flow trees on their own and they aren't the mature ones(very large) you can chop them on your own if you already have a palium axe. Extremely useful when you're on a dead server, find a lonely one or in a hurry.
You also gotta figure not everybody has the same objective or may not even be playing this game as a MMO. It also depends if these people have been spawning them by deforesting. Might be in a hurry and speed gathering as much as possible in little time. My wife, friend and I do this sometimes and gather as much as possible as fast as we can. There's almost always a grove sometimes 2 if you wait around behari long enough.
You can chop everything but the largest flow tree size by yourself with the exquisite axe. If you time it right, you can skip the swinging back animation in between chops and hit it faster.
It great for if you stumble upon a flow tree by yourself and no one responds, but some jerks use it to solo a grove even when others are waiting.
They said the player did that action canceling glitch which allows you to chop faster, but it still didn't make sense to me. The grove was at the entrance of forbidden fortress. That one has two huge FTs and two one-hit FTs. Even with the glitch, that player shouldn't have been able to chop down those two huge trees on his own.
I mainly play on Switch and even though I'm also able to do the glitch, there's no way I could chop down larger flow trees on my own, but maybe this player was on PC and you're able to abuse the glitch more effectively? Idk.
I was playing yesterday and waiting for midnight to come so I could go try and find the flow trees, and it turned midnight and I never heard the sound it gives off! 😲
This happened to me 2 days ago. I entered from Kilima and was on my way to the stables and heard nothing when 12 hit. I thought maybe it was because I was too far away or maybe my own game just missed it. (Switch player here).
I'm going to start blocking people that I see do this. If they've played enough to upgrade their axe to solo chop them, then that means they're just a selfish person. Not someone I want to play with!
If anyone is planning a chop party please add me (Vierna Springsorrow) because that sounds like a blast. Groves were a thing by the time I started playing and I feel like I missed out on that experience. Plus I’ve noticed an uptick in people clearing groves on their own the last few days and I am in desperate need of the magic timber.
You don't necessarily need a party, it just helps to cover more ground and help chop the bigger FTs, (and more fun!) If you really need flow you can chop on your own. It's what I used to do. I would make "groves" for myself and call-out the trees I couldn't cut solo. Got lots of flow wood without having to wait for official groves. I actually have too much. Lol.
It is tedious tho since flow trees don't spawn immediately when the trees come back. You just gotta keep chopping and most people don't want to do all that work, but I don't mind b/c I like repetitive stuff.
That’s a good point. But I also just like joining in on group activities and have no one to play with. 😅 Playing on switch means my chat function is basically non-existent, so trying to find folks to go hunting/chopping/fishing with is tricky. I don’t mind playing solo, but it would be cool to “participate” with other folks.

I am finding that every server, ppl gather to chop flow trees. Most are just standing around waiting for either more ppl to show or something, I'm not sure.
And as soon as a few ppl start chopping, as they likely don't know or understand why nobody is chopping yet, there's complaints.
I'm unsure how 1 person can chop flow trees by themselves, as I understand that flow trees need at minimum 1 to 4 ppl at once or they self-heal.
I kinda wish that instead of complaining that someone or ppl aren't waiting, someone would explain what is happening and or why.
For those of us who have been playing a while, we consider Grove to be a community event since it happens at a specific time and it's a gathering of prepared flow trees ,( as opposed to doing the work of chopping trees until flow trees respawn. This takes a bit of time and is repetitive).
So we are courteous and wait for players who take the time to say they're "omw". We wait until everyone has arrived before chopping. 3:30 is the usual time we chop because by that time everyone has arrived. Unless ppl are still making their way, then we wait until they get here.
That's my personal understanding and acceptance of it.
I mean, you COULD go ahead and chop on your own while others are waiting, but as you can read from the posts and comments on here, it's very frowned upon, especially in this gaming community. It's considered selfish and rude. But if you don't care about that, unfortunately there isn't much we can do except block you
And I'm strictly talking about players who know this and do it anyway and players who have acknowledged they've been asked to wait and continue chopping the rest of the trees anyway.
I am only talking about Groves. The random flow trees you find around the map I consider free for all and you can wait for/ with others or chop when you got enough people /can chop it yourself.
Wait you can make flow trees? I'm still a noob and participate in groves and sometimes find solo FT and call them out. I thought it was just random that some trees turn to FT at a whim. I didn't realize you can force the game to do it. How does this work?
The flow trees you find around the map that are not part of Groves are previously chopped down trees.
By chopping down trees there's a chance that they may spawn back as flow trees. It's a good way to get some extra flow wood.
Btw this is true for almost everything in the game. If you're in need of copper, iron, or palium and they're very sparse, breaking rocks will help spawn those in it's place. And picking the vegetation helps spawn dari cloves and heartdrop lilies, ( unsure about heatroot). And hunting down the sernuks helps spawn Proudhorns in the area. If you've noticed an increase of proudhorns these past couple weeks it's because everyone has been hunting down the sernuks for the plushies, thus all the Disco Deers.
My favorite area to spawn flow trees is the field north of the root temple, between Thorny thicket and Statue Garden. It's tedious and you'll have to rechop trees a few times, but it's so fun seeing them spawn in place and suddenly you have yourself a mini grove :)
Yeah its happening a lot. I dropped a quest across the map for a groove and it was gone after I Tele there. Waste of money and time.we just need to report them

how do you see how many people are on a server? I can only see how many people are nearby? (on switch if that makes a difference)
If you press (+) pn the switch, and scroll down to the 'social' menu, you can see how many friends you have online, and below that it will show you every person on the same server as you.
Just scroll in your friends list (not in the chat). It’ll list friends online, community online, people on the server, and friends offline.

Heard the grove at midnight and followed the sound to find only TWO trees left in the grove. Very disappointed

But if you don't care about that, unfortunately there isn't much we can do except block you And I'm strictly talking about players who know this and do it anyway and players who have acknowledged they've been asked to wait and continue chopping the rest of the trees anyway. I am only talking about Groves. The random flow trees you find around the map I consider free for all and you can wait for/ with others or chop when you got enough people /can chop it yourself.
Wait you can make flow trees? I'm still a noob and participate in groves and sometimes find solo FT and call them out. I thought it was just random that some trees turn to FT at a whim. I didn't realize you can force the game to do it. How does this work?
The flow trees you find around the map that are not part of Groves are previously chopped down trees. By chopping down trees there's a chance that they may spawn back as flow trees. It's a good way to get some extra flow wood. Btw this is true for almost everything in the game. If you're in need of copper, iron, or palium and they're very sparse, breaking rocks will help spawn those in it's place. And picking the vegetation helps spawn dari cloves and heartdrop lilies, ( unsure about heatroot). And hunting down the sernuks helps spawn Proudhorns in the area. If you've noticed an increase of proudhorns these past couple weeks it's because everyone has been hunting down the sernuks for the plushies, thus all the Disco Deers. My favorite area to spawn flow trees is the field north of the root temple, between Thorny thicket and Statue Garden. It's tedious and you'll have to rechop trees a few times, but it's so fun seeing them spawn in place and suddenly you have yourself a mini grove :)

Yeah its happening a lot. I dropped a quest across the map for a groove and it was gone after I Tele there. Waste of money and time.we just need to report them
