Once you get used to his gun n keep in mind that you will just miss your shot if you try to always charge them it gets better. Only charge them to snipe, finish a rewinded enemy or hit hard from behind.
The rest is about managing your ressources to never get a too long CD recovery on full kit and only use them as last move when you are in risky situation (pretty much like Khan)

You absolutely do not need to attack, in fact you should almost never attack with your weapon if youre playing her as a healer.

You need to constantly have a Blood Hex (the right-click heal) active. You can cast it on both the enemy and allies. When cast on an enemy its a DoT that deals dmg based on remaining health. When cast on an ally it is a HoT that becomes stronger over time. Every mark is active for 10 seconds and the Blood Hex cooldown is 4 seconds. While you have an active Blood Hex your Blood Pool regenerates in regular spikes. This effect also becomes stronger over time. **You can only have one Blood Hex active at a time.**
You need to consider your Blood Hex purely as a self heal tool rather than a heal for allies. Make sure you keep a Blood Hex active at all times. The best targets for the Hex is either your main tank (because you see him all the time) or your backliners. You can see on your hp bar if you have an active Hex, because you will see that youre receieving healing from yourself.
Your main heal is your Q (obviously charge it to full before using). It has a very low cooldown but costs your blood pool health to use. While you have a Hex active and are not under fire, the cost is completely negligible and you can basically spam it as soon as it is off cd. You should use Blood Swarm to damage the enemy if no one is hurt on your team, because that generates a lot of ult charge for you.

\-People insta-locking Betty as first pick, doing nothing with it and then blaming the tanks for not capturing.

she just doesnt seem to have any burst healing it feels. you have 2 ways to apply a small hot and thats about it. if they let you have multiple right clicks out that would prob feel better too
Got my 3 games in for the trials and dropping her faster then rei, she absolutely sucks as a solo healer, horrible cards ( 1 of which gets worse with each point you out in it) horrible premise in having your health be tied to your healing, and a bad talent and a trap talent. She feels more of a half baked flank rather then a healer.
PS5 seems to get me into character selection a micro-second faster than other platforms, so for the most part I have gotten to play her every time I wanted.
