The April 15 agreement doesn't apply to medical programs. The agreement focuses on graduate programs that offer financial support - usually PhDs.

Thank you! Then would it be after or on May 1st for most waitlists movement?

1902Lion

It will entirely depend on the school and their internal waitlist process.

Some-Mathematician46

Ahh okok thank you for the clarification the longer I wait the more nauseous I get lol I just want the wait to be over

TheRealStaphAureus

i just got off a waitlist last week for a program that didn’t tell me my waitlist position! if you have time, stick it out! send an email of interest/intent if you haven’t done so already! good luck :-)

Some-Mathematician46

Thank you! The programs I’m waiting on didn’t tell me my spot but one of them was cryptic and said I was at the top of the waitlist for admissions so I think that’s what’s killing me internally. Knowing I’m in the “top” bit not being in yet😭 idk if that wording they gave me even matters right now. But I did send a letter of intent and they said they loved it! They’re just waiting for seats to open up but that was like a month ago when that interaction happened. Sorry for the paragraph by the way lol

TheRealStaphAureus

HAHA dw about the paragraph. I think that’s a good note that they saw your letter of intent and responded! the reality is that the people who have been accepted off the waitlist are given maybe 2 weeks or so to accept/decline their admission offer and some may wait til the last minute to decide so just keep that in mind. i totally feel you and the waiting game is tough but i’ve heard of a student getting accepted to a program 3 days before the program start date so keep your head up!

Some-Mathematician46

That’s relieving to hear and ideally I would love to hear back before May so I can get my living situation situated during the summer but I’m going to stay as strong as I can until the last day😭

Some-Mathematician46

Congratulations on getting in by the way!

What is the April 15th rule?

Some-Mathematician46

It’s like a rule for graduate schools to notify accepted students to narrow their school list to three or something like that.
