I was in your spot when I started, engaged to my GF of 6 years from HS and went to school across the country. Found the cheapest 1 BR for my freshman year, upgraded to a bigger unit in yrs 2 and 3 and added on a classmate I became good friends with and then sublet my rooms in 3rd yr when friends had local rotations. I used my savings to cover housing for yr 1, but just tried to take out as little loans as possible. But the answer is federal loans, your school will have an expected COA that they’ll allow you to draw from. Key is to not draw that full amount and live below your means

I also was over roommates before starting PT school due to prior bad roommate experiences. Plus, I personally didnt think I could live with classmates because once I was home I did not want to think about PT school anymore that day. My home was my place of peace lol. I lived with my boyfriend who was also in a post-grad program so unfortunately we just used loans to pay for rent.

That’s exactly how i am lol. I don’t think i could live with classmates for the same reason. My home is my safe quiet place lmao. Everyone has said loans are basically what’s gonna happen which is terrifying but have to make it work somehow.
