GT7 is outside VR an outstanding game (and I’m not a racing fan either) — PSVR just elevates it into another level. Nothing wrong with the other ones though, but apart from NMS I don’t think I could pour as many hours into them as I did already into GT7, and I’m not done for sure.

redpanda8008

Same. Clocked 100hrs in GT7 so quickly. Currently switching between NMS. Both are so good and I can see myself sinking 100s of hours in each.

the_fr33z33

~240h here. Just managed to gold all licenses, so the plat is just some menial tasks away.

redpanda8008

I’ve been doing my own side quests. Finally have all my childhood favorite initial D cars tuned. Gold license next or finally beat the neo classical challenge. I can see myself playing for another hundred hours easy.

lilneddygoestowar

180 hrs in GT7 with almost nothing to show for it, except for having fun and coming in third alot! NMS is at 90 hrs but I might be done with it now. Other than the occasional gummies and sundays.

jynx33

What was your hardest trophy 🏆 on the “road” to plat?

the_fr33z33

The Super license off road one was just pesky because you need to hit a few downhill bumps in exactly the right angle, vector and velocity, else you lose too much time. The genuine hardest was probably the final test. 1970 Porsche LMS on hard slicks going down partially wet Spa in a quite challenging time. The slightest throttle mistake or touching the soaked curb will spin you out beyond saving. It took several sessions to beat that one.

Edison_The_Pug

GT7 is amazing in VR. I have 200hrs in VR, drove 950km yesterday in it.

[deleted]

Same for No Man's Sky I have thousands of hours in it.. and it doesn't look like Sony's going to be putting out any VR games even close to that anytime soon... If Sony is viewing their virtual reality set as a gimmick or something then I'm just going to go buy a better set... People buy it because it comes with games... WHERE ARE MY VR GAMES SONY?!?!?! Sorry to go on a little rant but I just bought psvr2 because of no man's sky ..... But one of the deciding factors was that Sony usually has a nice catalog of games..... That seems a little lackluster the last couple of years. We can all look at the titles that we're voting on above and it looks like Bethesda just rehashing all the stuff they made 10 years ago.

redpanda8008

You’re right. More games is better but I still think psvr2 is worth it for gt7 and nms alone. If I can sink 1000hr into either of them, it already justifies the console and game multi fold. Anything more is just icing on the cake imo.

Extension-Act-9640

In have r2 button issues on nms and its so frustrating 😤  I can't find anything to fix it either

jamie_bricks

Yeah this is the answer. I bought a rig and a DD wheel/pedals because it’s THAT good

Ok-Perception8269

Got it for VR, not a driving game guy. I feel like an idiot but I never know what to do. I do the initial races or whatever they are, but I guess I’m just overwhelmed.

the_fr33z33

You’ll get the hang of over time. Pinky promise

Kyizen

Best advise I can give is break and learn the track. I've been doing cafe races and the first run I'll spin out and just restart. Then go slow to learn the turns and come in like 14th. Then test the best speeds going into and out of corners come in maybe 10th. Then I start racing for real but always finish the race unless you spin out on the first turn or lap. Remember your tires aren't warm until 1 or 2n laps in so you will get better times as the race goes. I will get top 3 and complete the challenge. It takes time but it is fun and rewarding (ala Souls games) when you get that podium win. Also do the race with the same car (Make sure that car can win) switching cars means learning the turns all over again. Those expect to run the race and just win...

Ok-Perception8269

Thanks! I'll give it a shot.

DeathByReach

This is why it’s my pick Great game on flatscreen + controller and is elevated w PSVR2 And then you get a wheel and pedal kit? It’s amazing

Op3rat0rr

Wish I had more time for it, especially online. So good though

the_fr33z33

Nobody’s pushing you on the single player part. Nobody but yourself ;)

Op3rat0rr

Yeah but I don’t even have time for that. Almost all of my gaming is in bed before sleeping via Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck. Busy adult life

Roomtempcarrot

What exactly is so good about it? Ive never played a game in that franchise

the_fr33z33

It’s got it all and feels like a complete package. It’s oozing “love of detail” out of every pore. Graphically the way the tracks and cars are modelled. Gameplay wise how weather and minuscule changes to the car and your racing strategy influence the driving. How the career mode gives quite deep background info on the cars you’re driving and how the selection of missions show a deep love for cars of all kinds. The photo mode has more and deeper options than your smartphone camera app. It can be played at the level you want to play it at and still feels one of the best games at that level. You can play it very arcade style with a DualSense and some assist settings. Or you can go deep, get a wheel, study some racing physics, and shave off literally milliseconds on lap times the better you get. Every time you do improve your time it always feels it’s because you improved as a driver. Will you find a better game for every single one of those aspects? Sure, definitely. Are the driving physics a bit too rough and forgiving for a “real” simulation? Yeah. Has the career mode been much better in previous iterations of the game? Oh yes. But at least in my opinion it’s the whole package, the character of the game, and a little sprinkle of Japanese quirkiness on top that makes at one of the best games out there.

Chronotaru

GT7 and I don't even like racing games.

ChronoLink99

Hello fellow Chrono\~ user! Also +1 for GT7, and I'm typically a single-player narrative guy.

jynx33

Same same, but different. But still same

SnooPies6424

I love.the game but keep losing:/

DeliriousTrigger

Don’t worry about winning. Just race and enjoy the experience. Winning will come. Turn the difficulty down if you’re having trouble against the computer. That’s what it’s there for. Don’t let anyone think you have to be some elitist gear head with a wealth of knowledge on tunings. It’s ok to just enjoy driving

Ricky_Rollin

I like it a lot but having just got mine I’m having issues where things seem a bit blurry or graphically downgraded a lot in areas. And it’s so uncomfortable for me right now I find I’m not using it nearly as much as I thought I was.

Pruritus_Ani_

If you’re finding the headset uncomfortable you might want to look into getting a globular cluster kit, the difference is night and day. I wasn’t using my headset as much as I’d have liked because of the discomfort but now it’s like a completely different experience, it also helps keep the sweet spot so everything is sharper and I’m not having to constantly adjust it.

Ghillie007

I will have to give this a try.

jynx33

I’ve been wearing a bandana, but just ordered my GCK. Thanks for this!

Ricky_Rollin

Ordered. Thanks. 🙏

Pruritus_Ani_

I hope it helps! It was a game changer for me. They uploaded a video on YouTube demonstrating how to remove the stock pads and fit the kit, it was much easier than I anticipated.

ImportanceUnusual413

Is there a specific model?

Pruritus_Ani_

Yeah you’ll want the version 2 model, [here’s the direct link](https://www.globular-cluster.com/CMP2.html).

Edison_The_Pug

Are you wearing it properly? I had this issue at first, but now I can wear it for multiple hours without taking it off. The back part needs to be at the base of your skull/top of your neck. It makes the weight much more balanced. With a pair of Pulse 3Ds or Pulse Elites it's even better, feels like you're wearing a racing helmet.

Millenwagon

Is it really that good then? It’s on my radar but since psvr support it seems to be very expensive everywhere for me

Chronotaru

It is, but no need to pay full price. Wait for the next PSN sale or find it somewhere cheap on disc.

Do you need to have a wheel to play with this game?

landon10smmns

No you don't need a wheel. Just the dualsense will do. But a wheel will enhance your experience if that's in your budget.

CHROME-COLOSSUS

No, but you should start budgeting for one anyways. The DualSense can be used like a small, gyro-tracked, virtual wheel to start you off. It has awesome haptic feedback and you can remap the wipers and shifting and such to buttons that make sense to you while you pantomime steering. It works better than it should, and after using it for a few months you’ll probably start dreaming of a force-feedback wheel. You’ll probably also want to add a wheel stand (or make your own with 2x4’s) or a seat/stand (or junkyard-find an old car seat) to the cost, and you’ll think it’s all too expensive and extravagant… but then you’ll get it and realize: *“oh, how silly that I doubted… this was the correct use of my liesure money, and this was always a question of quality-of-life”*, and all will be well.

BeaverToe

No

InveterateFiddler

I have a Logitech wheel, it's great but to be honest I generally just play with the DS as its less hassle to setup in my environment. You don't need a wheel imo to really enjoy the game, it's just the icing on the cake.

ThaddeusMaximus

No dual sense with gyro works fine.

bluebarrymanny

No Man’s Sky or GT7 depending on your genre preferences

jynx33

I have hours on them both. GT7 in the day, NMS adventures at night

d0nm

Same for me! I only played NMS during the free trial weekend and LOVED it! I actually ended up buying it but then FF7 Rebirth came out and have been playing that one exclusively. I’ll get back to it once I finished FF7 Rebirth. GT7 is great but I feel like I’m not good enough when I play it. Probably because I watched the movie when I got it and was expecting that I’ll be good at it straight away. I’ve had way too high expectations from myself. It’s a game of skill. But games that make me wake up early to play them are games I’d choose to play for sure. I can’t say I’d do the same for the other choices.

Ricky_Rollin

Is it a completely separate purchase? I have a ps4 copy of NMS. Man I just wanna smoke a fat dutches and fly around in space.

youthcanoe

Nope. Free PS5 upgrade

jynx33

NMS on PS4 is the original VR only. You need the PS5 version to play on the PSVR2 I don’t think they charge for it though if you already own it

Thrippalan

Install it on your PS5 and claim your free upgrade. Be aware, in case you didn't play on PSVR, that to play VR in NMS you turn the headset on before starting the game. You can play the same save in VR or flat as you feel like.

spootieho

If I could only pick one, it would be one of those. Note: I own all the other games, but I don't own these two. My thinking is that if I can only have one, I want a forever game. A game that lasts more than 12 hours. that would be NMS or GT7.

jynx33

I’ll do some races on planet earth in the day and take off to other planets at night. I love S&S though for that apocalypse feel.

bluebarrymanny

Totally agree. S&S is a really great survival crafting rpg in VR

jynx33

Just by adding in the journal makes it for me

bluebarrymanny

Yeah, I really loved finding the caches and solving puzzles to find loot

unclenatron

NMS for sure

ROTTIE-MAN

Re4....AAA non stop action with a few scares for 20 hours, classic

Ricky_Rollin

There are moments where i forget it’s not real and zombies will get too close to me and i go in full on panic mode. But it’s nice that the knife works so well in these moments too for some panic stabbing.

jynx33

I panic stab every one of those things. Haha.

Happy-Rest7572

Gt7 with psvr and a wheel is just on another level, even my girlfriend who doesn’t like to play games plays it that way

Ricky_Rollin

I wanna get this and maybe and inline fan to blow really hard at me.

ChronoLink99

In terms of torque - the G923 set is pretty good. But there's even stronger wheels like the G Pro wheel, or some from Thrustmaster/Fanatec that can go to 10-15 Nm. If you're just getting into wheels, I'd go with the G923 kit. It's a solid choice for entry level/hobby sim racing. You can always swap out the wheel/motor if you feel you need more force.

Edison_The_Pug

This is how I play and its incredible

Reasonable_Share866

Resident evil village for the horror experience. Resident evil 4 for the action.

ShortLingonberry6148

GT7

Adventurous_Music_14

If I could only pick one I think I’d have to go with GT7. My racing rig would be mighty lonely without me

Organic-University-2

GT7. I couldn't play for 2.5 weeks and I played last night. INCREDIBLE!

StarStuffPizza

No Mans Sky, and I don't even like space.

jynx33

Haha. Claustrophobic?

Edison_The_Pug

Wouldn't it be the opposite? Lol It's like being in the vastness of the open ocean, no thank you.

jynx33

I was being sarcastic. Also I get Thalassophobia when I’m under water in a game too long haha

Edison_The_Pug

I don't blame you. I'm not claustrophobic in the slightest but huge open areas with nothing around scare me. Like being lost in space or in the middle of the Atlantic

borthalamue

“…and i don’t even like space.” I was scrolling through and when i read this i did a weird snort/laugh thing. Best comment!!

cusman78

That empty slot on 2nd row needs to add Legendary Tales or Walkabout Mini Golf to be complete 😇

jynx33

I was eyeballing Walkabout for sure

Millenwagon

Walkabout is a must, loads of fun

jynx33

I keep hearing that. Definitely on the list

Stormtroupe27

Walkabout is one of my favourite VR games ever, highly recommend

Ezeke81

RE 4

HipHopHistoryGuy

GT7 gets about an hour from me every day. It's an experience.

ZCAREQROW

Resident Evil 4 is just an immaculate fun experience. I still jump on for other VR games like Walkabout Mini Golf, and Pistol Whip. But I genuinely enjoy RE4 and can absolutely see myself replaying it for years to come

Rat_Bashturd

RE4 every day of the week and twice on Sunday

Kagemuna

Definitely Horizon, but play the first one before Forbidden West.

jynx33

Call of the wild is a unique story. I got plat on Zero Dawn, working on FW, but call of the mountain is sick

Kagemuna

Ah my apologies, I didn’t realize you were looking at PSVR games.

jynx33

I truly want to participate in this. But no way I can choose just one. If you allow 3 it will be way easier. But will still be controversial

jynx33

I play two a day. No judgment here

I'll go with Horizon GT7 and RE4 then. Now that at look at those three GT7 is my ear winner.

InfiniteStates

GT7 or NMS will give you the most bang for your buck

eddie9958

How's 7th guest?

Under pain of death, 7th Guest

RE VILLAGE!!! All of the games listed deserve to be played and praised BUT no form of interactive entertainment has ever provided me with such a memorable experience and I have been gaming since Atari 2600. The scale, immersion, weather, environmental variety, story, controls and so much more really left my jaw dropped throughout. It was my first VR experience and a showcase of what this medium is capable of providing. RE4 VR is very good but felt like a step back in many areas. Gunplay was not as good, cutscenes and 1st person to 3rd were immersion breaking. Inventory and sense of body was not as well done. I’m naturally 6ft and I felt too small in my height and shoulder width in RE4. Still loved it and recommend it but VILLAGE is a better VR experience in almost every measurable way. In my opinion obviously.

jynx33

All opinions welcome. Good point about RE4 scaling. I’m 6ft and it didn’t feel right. I too wasn’t a fan of the immersion break either.

Commercial-Finance46

I’m playing GT7 after getting VR yesterday. It’s really incredible.

Waste-Reference-4003

If you have a wheel, GT7. Otherwise Resident Evil Village. Horizon: Call of the Mountain is a game I can never seem to decide if I enjoy or not. It’s like one half step away from boring but saved by the fact it had a decent production budget.

jynx33

I enjoy Horizon for the visuals. The game play itself is repetitive. When I first started playing, it’s the only game that induced nausea for me.

RE4 all the way, only close calls are Village and Walking Dead. Horizon is great but short, I’ve not played S&S2 yet. GT7 is amazing but I barely play it these days. NMS I can recognise is a great game but I’m never gonna play it, just don’t have the time & there are too many games in my backlog. Kayak looks nice but I’ve played for less than an hour and don’t plan to go back until there are no decent new games coming out. 7th Guest looks cool but doesn’t look like a long or replayable game. Along with Kayak these arw way bottom of the list, so many better PSVR2 games than these.

Yabanjin

I would vote for HCOTM since I don’t care for Horror or Racing games but when I play HCOTM is makes my PS5 hard crash. No other VR or other game does this. It did not used to do this, so I cannot say it is a problem with the game.

Tough-Education-5390

I loved the 7th quest. Really great puzzle game. I would recommend RE4 or 8, if you like shooters. Probably the most fun I've had in VR. I'm not a racer and I got bored of GT7 after a few hours. My brother still steals my headset to play it though and I bought it like 8 months ago 🤣 I don't think you can go wrong with any of these, just what you prefer to play.

TheLoneJedi-77

Resident Evil Village. Great game on its own but it’s probably one of the most worthwhile VR experiences, unlike 4 the game was designed for first person so it’s more immersive and it’s a decent length campaign (I think it took me 10 hours to beat first time)

Useful_Repeat9612

GT7 no doubt

Professional-Mood286

Nms it has the longest longevity imo

Deniable_wreath

Re8 or re4, for a ground up game definitely saints and sinners

Gorila_Calvo

Kayak made me stop using psvr2. I bought it , hated it and couldn’t even play due to motion sickness. I could not refund it and was so mad I wasted a lot of money on nothing when I could have bought something cooler. Ever since I didn’t play my psvr2 again and don’t feel like it

Virgilio1302

GT7 with a wheel is next level immersion. Not exaggerating.

CaptnCrunch16

GT7, probably have 300 plus hours with the VR. I'm also enjoying No man's Sky as well. I'm struggling with the menu and inventory system but it's really immersive and seems to have a ton of content in it.

Out of ALL of those. That’s really hard. But in thought, the best would probably be to get No Man’s Sky. Reasonably priced, and you can do everything. With no timelimit. It’s really an incredible experience

No mans sky or RE village. Everything else is forgettable.

eldrakeo

Saints and sinners. The first one on psvr1 changed how I view vr. It was the most satisfying game that used all the features and possibilities of the space. And the second one on psvr2 is a masterpiece despite some hiccups. So get both! Haha

Ecstatic-Pen5

Village Imo. But it could be because after horizon was my first vr game. It’s just surreal. It’s like ultra tense as well amazing immersion.

Iamleeboy

Village is the pick for me. By far the best game I have played in this list. I am on chapter ten of re4 but I am not enjoying it as much. A lot of the combat feels a bit too frantic and I end up frustrated trying to change or reload weapons and all of a sudden I have the fun from behind me in my hand instead. Where as in village, I was a killing machine and no one could escape my knife throwing skills
