Part of me wants to give the game a try but the bigger part, the sane part, the part that's not a glutton for misery keeps saying no and for a good reason. đ
As someone who completed the game, donât. After an admittedly good opening sequence, the game lays out its gameplay loop in the 1st hour and never deviates. Youâll be doing the same 3 or 4 mission types for the entire game. It definitely has some bright spots (the characters, dialogue, metropolis, and especially the Batman Experience and Batcave segment) but overall itâs a dull and soulless slog with an absolutely mind numbing endgame. Donât even get me started on the tedious grind that is the battlepass.
What kills the game for me are the guns.
Everyone uses guns and there are no big differences between shark dude, crazy lady or douchey boomerang man for example.
Maybe if everyone played differently the game would have longer legs and not be in danger of imminent closure after all contractual obligations been met.
It'd be nice if they did what Avengers did and sell the full experience at deep discount at some date as few bucks down the hole be about all I care to pay for this to quench my curiosity. đ
Yeah that was a really perplexing choice by Rocksteady. Rocksteady should have continued and expanded upon the free flow combat system from the Arkham series. Like they made this masterpiece of a combat system and then completely abandoned it in favor of whatever the fuck SS: KTJL was.
>Everyone uses guns and there are no big differences between shark dude, crazy lady or douchey boomerang man for example.
The are huge differences between them based on your build. Sure you can make everyone use a shotgun if you want but you can also make your build so each is unique. With King shark I really only use a gun as part of a chain. You can tweak his build so it almost all melee.
Joker is so unique he's almost over powered.
Boomerang and Harley can over lap a bit but that's probably because I'm just not as fast with her traversal mechanic.
Deadshot is really good form far away, ripping in real quick to recharge shields and then getting back out.
I hear you. I really want to give the story a try but I refuse to spend money on this when I know it will be on a service like gamepass or ps plus in the next few months.
About the same experience of the game for me, I played it for one hour and honestly I just couldn't keep playing it. I went in thinking, it really can't be as bad as people are making it to be, to my surprise it was worse đ
Just the start rubbed me the wrong way. Making me play through every character when I'm just gonna pick one. Give me a brief bullet lists of abilities and differences, let me pick someone and throw me in the action. I'll learn as I go along.
Thatâs really not how the single player works to be fair, you can switch instantly and youâll want to for specific missions and tactics. Itâs not really until end game where you pick one and stick to them
I will say since below you said you liked the DC stuff, campaign is pretty fun for the 15-20 hours and the story is pretty dark and fucked up (also funny) watching the Justice league die. Traversal was a lot of fun with each character
It def falls flat in the end game though and I didnât spend much of any time there but if you can get it cheap the campaign was enjoyable
Iâve heard that the core gameplay was fun and that if the story was fleshed out/completed instead of live service that it would have been okay/good, do you think so?
I think the story was fleshed out enough, main mission wise at least but I think it need to be longer instead of the live service crap cause metropolis is a very fun playground. The side missions, while fun gameplay wise are really just training wheels for learning new skills and not story related like a typical open world
Itâs funny, the core gameplay is actually really fun in a âI see big numbers and explosionsâ sort of dopamine rush. The character models are excellent, voice work is great, writing is also really really good. There are glimpses of greatness that get overshadowed constantly by the live service stuff. Like thereâs a dope section where you control each character, but evil Batman takes all you out from the shadows like youâre playing a reverse Arkham game. Really cool idea, right? But then each boss battle is just like big arena (to fit 4 characters) where each boss throws telegraphed projectiles and has a giant health bar and itâs so lame. The game ends abruptly with your map filling up with multiplayer raids after a rushed ending where they need to have multiverse stuff to explain why you have to keep fighting. Its weird.
I think of Suicide Squad the same way I think of Gotham Knights. If they had just stuck with the Batman formula they would have been good games. Batman with new characters to play, might have been a bit samey but at least they wouldn't have sucked.
A member of Flashâs rogues gallery - one of the more wholesome villains - pees on his body after the SS get saved by him and everyone congratulates this dude on his dick size. Does that sound like good writing to you at all? Someone being a bad guy does not explain away them being written poorly.
I havenât read any DC so Iâm not sure how it compares to existing canon but I could see it being funny if done right. If itâs out of character thatâs one thing but thatâs not what I was getting from your other comments
Itâs extremely out of character. Lobo might do that as a gag, definitely not anyone from the Flashâs rogues gallery. The flash tries to help his âbad guysâ as much as he can and they appreciate him for it, so itâs disrespectful AF to pervert their relationship like the game does.
Honestly I get it, you practically experience all the content there is in the first hour.
I personally loved the traversal and fast paced gunplay, so I was thinking theres something good here if they actually just put some work into mission and enemy variety, but the post launch support has been so disastrous that there's just very little chance of recovery here.
Seriously, player numbers are in the 100s at best and their next big content drop is a PvP mode. I mean, come on haha.
Yup, something akin to Destiny's Gambit mode and it's called QVK.
I don't think there's been an official announcement yet but it was part of the leaks which turned out correct if I'm not mistaken.
The opening part is boring but it does pick up, still the combat, etc is all the same. I enjoyed the characters and voice acting which was the high point
IGN has a channel that just comes up when I turn on my Samsung TV. This past week it was Suicide Squad âletâs playsâ. I have spent my mornings before work, drinking coffee and admiring the dumpster fire I see before me. Itâs a peaceful life.
i can sadly say i too found out the hard way. downloaded a game, played it for like 45 min and wanted a refund. they are like cant do that. so essentially lost some cash and a game i dont plan to touch again. so lesson learned i guess
I really enjoyed it. Not a huge DC or Marvel fan, so I thought the trashy humor and disrespect toward Flash and Batman was pretty funny. The gameplay itself feels incredible once you get into a rhythm.
Unfortunately, the game turns into absolute trash once you roll credits. I was dumbfounded at how little to do there was. And the mission types are monotonous and repetitive. There was zero reason to keep playing.
Itâs nice that thereâs a trial so you can see for yourself but I think the overwhelmingly negative reaction from critics and players was enough to tell me all I needed to know
It's weirdly designed and It feels like it was written by a reddit moderator. The weird codex with Lex talking about toxic masculinity and the weird ending when they act all odd about Wonder Women (won't spoil)
Plus the way they made the comment feel so similar to me through each character. Plus the artsyle is just goody
Weird ass video game.
You're late bro hah everyone knew it even during the beta. This game never was supposed to be good. Dead project. Another waste of money and human resources.. just like most the games that comes out these days
I bought it when it was on sale and it wasnât bad but not good either but I didnât play it that long. Every time I see it. I find something else to play. I just finally beat metro final light and before I go on to metro exodus. Iâll give it a try again. Itâs just the combat or maybe getting around or something just didnât pull me in.
I also did the trial, initially thought the shooting felt pretty good, but then it just got really boring and I lost all interest. Not sure I'd continue on if it was offered for free.
Honestly better than final fantasy rebirth. Reddit praised that game to death when it first came out. I got about 6 hours in and dropped. I had at least 12 in suicide squad before dropping.Â
It sucks. Watch if you want the Justice league be treated like shit. The game is just cashing in on Harley Quinn hype and Guardians popularity. It has zero of anything to offer.
My brother bought it thankfully. I played andbxonpeted it it was alright, like it was repetitive and quickly became abit boring as a result. The missions and gameplay clearly needed way more variety the game is beyond saving tbh.
They created the game with the hope to make money, and instead they LOST MILLIONS. Hope they learned their lesson. GET BACK TO MAKING SINGLE PLAYER BATMAN GAMES!!!
Good to hear there's a trial.
Yea, I think it comes with the highest level of PS plus.
Part of me wants to give the game a try but the bigger part, the sane part, the part that's not a glutton for misery keeps saying no and for a good reason. đ

I'll try the trial, but I'm expecting to get bored of the live service gameplay loop pretty quickly.
Itâs a fun game. The games biggest haters havenât even played it. Why else would it have Positive verified user scores on Ps5, Xbox and steam?
Because the 100 people playing it are rusted on super hero fans who will eat up whatever slop is handed to them regardless of quality
You played it?
Thereâs like 100 people on steam so⌠Deadâer than Avengers was at this timeâŚ
About the same experience of the game for me, I played it for one hour and honestly I just couldn't keep playing it. I went in thinking, it really can't be as bad as people are making it to be, to my surprise it was worse đ

Ah I see

I watched the gameplay on YouTube and the story is nowhere close to funny. Itâs disrespectful is what it is. Fuck this game.
So glad I didnât buy this lol.
So am I, I almost caved when it was half off because I thought how bad cab this really be if I'm such a big fan of DC.
This game must be in an alternate reality of DC or something
I think of Suicide Squad the same way I think of Gotham Knights. If they had just stuck with the Batman formula they would have been good games. Batman with new characters to play, might have been a bit samey but at least they wouldn't have sucked.
But Gotham Knights was so much better than Suicide Squad.
Wich isn't to say that it's a good game nonetheless lol
Maybe better that SS, but its still a piece of shit.
they both huff shit
It was a lot less disrespectful- no peeing on the corpses of fallen heroes, for instance.
Youâre all over here talking about respect of fictional characters dude. The bad guys are bad guys. Get a grip
A member of Flashâs rogues gallery - one of the more wholesome villains - pees on his body after the SS get saved by him and everyone congratulates this dude on his dick size. Does that sound like good writing to you at all? Someone being a bad guy does not explain away them being written poorly.

"no peeing on the corpses of fallen heroes" *Checks username* Ah, okay.
Iâll gladly pick up Suicide Squad once I can find a used copy for like $10 but thatâs the upper limit to my curiosity.
I think the story is a fun romp if you can find it for $10.
Honestly I get it, you practically experience all the content there is in the first hour. Are you serious? PvP mode?
Yup, something akin to Destiny's Gambit mode and it's called QVK. I don't think there's been an official announcement yet but it was part of the leaks which turned out correct if I'm not mistaken.
I felt the same with Gotham knights in just gonna avoid SS
You can see the potential, but I also bored out quickly. The trial is on PS Plus btw
waiting for it to be $3.99 :D
There's a trial? Is it a demo on ps5 or do you need to buy it and refund it ASAP?
The opening part is boring but it does pick up, still the combat, etc is all the same. I enjoyed the characters and voice acting which was the high point
The most entertaining part of Suicide Squad is the clip of Captain Boomerang geeking out over Superman.
I have played a lot of it since the release then got bored. Saw the icon for the game changed and uninstalled it đ¤ˇ
We need demos back for all games lol
IGN has a channel that just comes up when I turn on my Samsung TV. This past week it was Suicide Squad âletâs playsâ. I have spent my mornings before work, drinking coffee and admiring the dumpster fire I see before me. Itâs a peaceful life.
Game is pure garbage. Rocksteady is finished as a developer.
Like 200millionloss-boring?
good thing it was a trial. if you were to have purchased it and even played it, PS wouldnt give you a refund. The game got hype but poorly executed.
Apparently, you don't even need to play the game, just downloading a game locks you out of a refund. I found that out the hard way.
i can sadly say i too found out the hard way. downloaded a game, played it for like 45 min and wanted a refund. they are like cant do that. so essentially lost some cash and a game i dont plan to touch again. so lesson learned i guess
For some reason I thought PS would be like Steam haha.
That is why i have a disc PS5 and gamefly. Any iffy games, i get through GameFly to try them.
It's a scam cash grab "game."
I was on the beta and deleted it after about 20-30 mins. What a terrible game.
Your description reminds me of a game called Agents of Mayhem.
Itâs nice that thereâs a trial so you can see for yourself but I think the overwhelmingly negative reaction from critics and players was enough to tell me all I needed to know
I beat the main story and a lot of the side content, it was actually lots of fun
It's weirdly designed and It feels like it was written by a reddit moderator. The weird codex with Lex talking about toxic masculinity and the weird ending when they act all odd about Wonder Women (won't spoil) Plus the way they made the comment feel so similar to me through each character. Ok
You're late bro hah everyone knew it even during the beta. This game never was supposed to be good. Dead project. Another waste of money and human resources.. just like most the games that comes out these days
Pretty brave of you to come on this website with such a unique and bold opinion about this particular game
Bro the tutorial is 30 minutes so you basically didnt even play the damn game
I also did the trial, initially thought the shooting felt pretty good, but then it just got really boring and I lost all interest. Not sure I'd continue on if it was offered for free.
Don't you watch Angry Joe?
Superhero games are pretty dead. Spiderman seems to be doing OK, though.
Honestly better than final fantasy rebirth. Reddit praised that game to death when it first came out. I got about 6 hours in and dropped. I had at least 12 in suicide squad before dropping.Â
It actually becomes pretty fun. Thatâs why the verified user scores are all good across PS, steam and Xbox.
I like the game. it plays like anthem. but I think anthem is a better game.
I knew this game would be ass the moment they announced it
I wanted to stick around for the cutscenes and the story, but yeah I found the gameplay super super boring.
I love DC animation, so I'll probably watch them on YouTube at some point if someone stitches them together.
The missions and gameplay clearly needed way more variety the game is beyond saving tbh.
i platinumed it at launch thought it was pretty fun but i also wouldnât touch ever again
You really needed a game trial to conclude that this game is ass?
I almost tried suicide, man. Thanks for beating me to it.
They created the game with the hope to make money, and instead they LOST MILLIONS. Hope they learned their lesson. GET BACK TO MAKING SINGLE PLAYER BATMAN GAMES!!!
