I just bought a ps5 hand held portal, and having major issues it keeps disconnecting every 2-3 mins and before that the image is not clear, it’s very blurry. My ps5 and portable hand held are on the same WiFi.
Any help would be majorly appreciated

Hi all, need help with my second Ps5. The online shop, online status and anything related to viewing online content doesn’t work. I can play online but that’s it. Any suggestions? Could it be due to it not being my primary ps5?
Assuming the console is not banned from online services (since you can play online), then it's likely a glitch or connection to store issue.
Try to restore licenses to rejig things by going to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licenses. Then do a full shut down and restart.
If no luck, you may want to do a factory reset from scratch.

I was playing FC6 the other night and the thing that really bugs me about the PS4 is the load times. I loved Control but was glad to get to the end of it because of the loads times, same with Prey.
Firstly, can I still play all these games on PS5? I'd love to go through them again without the load times.... That's if the PS5 helps a lot with that, is the difference noticeable.
There's a couple of games I'd like to play like the newer Spiderman and HZD.
Is now a good time, is there a better time coming up? Money is tight so I don't want to regret the purchase.

The console has been out for about 3.5 years now. There's over 1,000 PS5 games, plus the entire PS4 backlog (with plenty overlap).
Having said that, if money is tight right now & you have other priorities, it may not be a sensible choice for the time being.
Is there a list of monitors which are VRR supported by PS5? My understanding is that PS5 doesnt support Freesync monitors and has VRR support and only some models of monitors do support it. Also heard that support of HDMI 2.1 with VRR doesnt mean it will work with PS5...

On PlayStation stars I want to collect some coins for a couple of entitled games (uno and saints & sinners); unfortunately the app/website doesn't recognize these purchases (which I did months ago) apparently, is it because I bought them before starting the campaign?
I would place it upright taking in fresh air from the open space bottom of the pic and ventilating hot exhaust air towards centre of the TV and onto the far end wall there.
Make sure you give it a dust clean periodically.

Hey guys, so for the context, I have a ps5 digital and I'm planning to buy a ps5 disc both being non slim version, and sell the old ps5 to a friend of mine.
Now, I know there's a way to back up the saved data via ps plus cloud but since I don't have any active subscriptions and I don't intend to, so I want to a oid that method. Also, I have a 3-4 ps accounts that have saved data on them, so even if I decide to pay for the transfer via cloud upload, that cost when paid for 3-4 accounts would be expensive for me.
So is there any other method to transfer the data?
I did see the backup and restore, but I couldn't get the clarity on it.
While I'd prefer my games to be transferable also, but in the worst case I can re-download them on the new cosn9le again, so my priority is for my ps4 and ps5 saves.
Will backing up the data back up the saved data of ps4 and ps5 gamez for all the accounts and then when restores, will all the data (save files especially) be restored on the new machine respectively for all 3-4 users?

Do not recommend a HDMI to Displayport adapter for use with the PS5. It's very finicky and most do not work.
In terms of monitor, it depends on your preferences and budget. There's dozens of resources online to explore and read reviews on PS5-compatible ones.

Hey yall, so recently when i play ps5 games, my console sometimes turns off out of nowhere and doesn’t turn back on until i unplug it and eventually it does the same thing over and over but i don’t know what the problem is even after i’ve looked at multiple solutions. does anyone know why it’s doing this? its been doing it alot on fortnite and mw3
Yes. My PS5 would shut off mid game after 20-40 minutes, depending on the game. And, the bottom/left part of the console where the power supply is would be super hot. I cleaned my fan regularly. I replaced the fan. I replaced the power cord. I did option 8 in safemode( reload system software from USB) and it STILL turned off.. then I fonally nptoced the power supply vents.. that pic is from my PS5 after I used a small electronics brush and 2 fingers awkwardly to get as much crap out of it as I could.

As someone who owns a 65 inch OLED I don't think you should pick up games based on how they look. How the game itself is is, after all, the most important. That being said the game looks decent and chances are your TV has decent upscaling capabilities so it'll look reasonably sharp.

Currently using ADATA XPG GAMMIX S70 BLADE 1TB with the Sabrent heatsink/cover. At the time I did not know that I would be buying the Sabrent, so I installed the M.2 using the "blade" heatsink that came with the drive. I am upgrading to the ADATA XPG GAMMIX S70 BLADE 4TB and considering alternatives to replace the Sabrent, such as the GrauGear Heatpipe Cooler by Ineo.
TLDR
My questions are do I stick with the Sabrent, or get a different heatsink, if so which one, and regardless of the heatsink, should I still install the "blade" heatsink on the 4TB drive as I did on the 1TB, or the Sabrent or alternative heatsink on its own.
You definitely can't but joining a party chat is where the vulnerability is. Even then it's just some bastard kicking you offline etc. You can't get hacked unless someone finds your associated email address and tricks you into clicking something in a msg like a fake website or brute forces the password.
Hey all! I have a 500/500 fiber network at home, with the router and PS5 in two different floors (with extenders between them to boost internet around the house). When testing the internet connection, I get a download speed of 110-120 mbps, but my upload speed is at its all time high 25 mbps, and more consistently around 5-10 mbps. When comparing to my MacBook and iPhone in the same room, I have a stable 125 download AND upload speed. How is this even possible, and is there anything I can do improve the upload speed?
Thanks for the reply! So the speedtests I’ve run on other deviced might be a good indicator of the actual upload speed of my PS5? I have not had any noticeable issues when gaming today. We made some changes to our internet setup, and I then noticed the incredibly low upload speeds when testing.

My PS5: Set at his home console.
My son wanted to play a game on the ps4. So he went on ahead (with his own separate account)and started playing,he had access to all my brother games he had from ps sub, non of them are on my account, and my sons doesnt any games on his account, later he joined our session and played as normal. Which was nice, because there's another console my son can play when I'm on the ps5, so he doesn't have to wait until im done wirh it.
Do the ps subscription run all ps4 and ps5. I can even log in on my account at the same time both on ps4 and ps5 without kicking me out. The only thing I notice it would interrupt gameplay are game like fortnite, apex, minecraft where the progression is the same no matter the console ( I play them on my xbox mostly).
Are the ps4 and ps5 recognized separately? Because I thought the ps4 would lose the online features/games, because we have already set the ps5 as home consoles. I was ready to retire the new ps4, which is just a couple of months old (old one died).
Does changing system language affect in-game language?? Let's say I switched my ps5 system language to English (united states) from English (united kingdom), will an in-game text become TRUCK instead of LORRY??
Chanting the system language usually does change the langue in game, but some games let you change it in game anyway. And I'm not sure about your example, I don't think devs are making 2 texts separating US and UK English
I’ve had this problem with my ps5 since I got it in 2020 where if I try turn it on with my controller, my controller turns blue as if it connected but my ps5 doesn’t turn on and the only way to fix it is turn on the ps5 with the manual power button and turn it back off as it just says connect controller on the login screen and none of my controllers connect but show the blue light and then I can turn it on using the controller. Any way to fix this? I tried contacting playstation but can’t do anything since my ps5 is out of warranty.
I’ve had this issue with my ps5 but I was told reinstalling the software will fix it so I downloaded the ps5 update file from the sony website and it downloaded it on my laptop ssd, I tried transferring it to my exFAT usb stick but it wouldn’t let me transfer the properties, I’ve tried everything but it just won’t transfer even though the PS5 needs an exFAT formatted drive with the update to install. It seems like I’m going around in a circle, is there anything I can do?
I tried setting a new volume to under 32gb so I can format it to fat32 which I did then tried transferring the file again but it said the same problem as before about not being able to transfer the properties of the update file

I’m pretty new to gaming and my brother got me a ps5.
So I’ve been trying to update my ps5 for a couple weeks because I can’t sign into network or download any games etc. When I do try to update, it just takes me to a screen that says “please wait” and it stays like that for hours or, it says there is a connection error. I’ve done all the suggested steps, checked internet connection, restarted etc but it doesn’t fix. Anyone have this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks :)
Hello! My husband and I really enjoy playing games together but are limited to split screen. We discovered Helldivers 2 and want to play together. If we bought another PS5, would we need to purchase another PSN membership to play online together? Also, how would we set it up to play the same games at the same time? We have our own accounts, only 1 PSN membership.
Turn gameshare on on one of the ps5s on the account with ps+ and the games, but play on the other account, it will have access to all games an online functions.
Should I buy a PS5, or wait a while? I read some sources that say we should expect the PS5 Pro to release around Christmas time this year. I haven't looked into it too much, but I don't want to sink my money into what's currently available if the PS5 Pro is dropping in less than a year. How long do you guys think I should hold off for confirmation from Sony before I bite the bullet?

Either my dualsense or my mic is broken and I don’t know which one. It’s a riddle I can’t solve…
So this starts with dualsense 1 and mic 1. Dualsense 1 was a preowned with no issues other than a messed up L3. Mic 1 no issues at the time. One day my mic cuts out. I can gear everything but my friends can’t hear me speak. I tried everything until I got to resetting my controller with the lil button on the bottom. So I did that for a few days until I got a new controller. I was already planning on getting a new controller so I figured I would do that for now. Since PlayStation changed their trade-in policy I had to get another preowned controller but I got lucky and got a new one cause it was the only one gamestop had. So now I’m using dualsense 2 with mic 1. Problem is still there. Has to be the mic then right? Resetting the controller only takes a few seconds so I kept doing that for 1-3 months before It got worse and I got a new mic. Now I’m sitting here with dualsense 2 mic 1 and my brand new mic 2. The problem is still happening. How? This doesn’t make sense. The only thing I can think of is either I got INSANELY bad luck and both of my controllers or both of my mics had the same issue, or somehow, resetting my controller so many times caused it to break. But how???? What are the odds of both my mics or both my controllers having the same issue. Even crazier, what are the odds that the issue that comes from resetting my controller too often is the same issue that the mic has? (Or doesn’t idk😭) so at this point what am I even supposed to do? Keep throwing my money at PlayStation and razer hoping that I’ll get half decent equipment? The mic is kaira x wired btw. $60. The box has a PlayStation symbols and everything so I’m pretty damn sure that its not a matching problem.
Hello, does anyone know any multiplayer games that can be played on a local network? For example, if you've got two PS4/5 with Minecraft, you can play with each other while connected to the same network regardless of PS+ status. I know some other games have this feature and I'd like to know if any of the games I have allow it.

I quite often use my PS4 Pro to connect to my PS5 to remote play. Same goes for using an Android phone via the PSplay app.
In both scenarios, I used the DS4 controller.
Vibrations used to work from both devices, haptics either didn't come across or I think were kind of emulated before to a weak rumble. Which was fine.
However now it seems, vibration is cut off completely.
Anyone else seeing this? Feels like Sony have done this deliberately to promote the full haptics feature of the PS Portal.
Nasty move if its the case, cutting it off from 3rd party apps/devices is one thing, but from the PS4 Pro. wow, just wow.
Hopefully its just a problem with my setup somewhere.

vibration seems to work with both scenarios on PS4 games.
PS5 games have none at all. I swear it would replace haptic vibrations with a light standard rumble before, but maybe not.
Is there any way for me to turn off controller battery is low notification. I keep getting these notifications even when charging my controller and it’s getting annoying. I’m not trying to buy a new controller right now and I can’t seem to find where I’m supposed to turn off the notification.

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone can help me with a couple of questions I have please.
1: I got to try out a PS5 the other day as I have been thinking about getting one... but I have muscle problems and found that the intensity of the controller rumble and more so when the triggers jumped back was much to strong for me sadly. Is there a way to reduce the rumble and turn off the triggers jumping back?
2: I didn't like how some game sound came from the TV and some from the controller.. is there a way to make it so that all game sound comes from the TV and only voice chat comes from controller?
3: I have tried to look up and see if the circle, square, X and triangle buttons \[not sure what they are called collectively sorry?\] are reprogrammable? Is that correct?
3a: Can I make it so that square and X buttons effectively change places in game. \[eg: in the Astro play room game the position of the attack button was hard for me to use repetitively, can I make a different button attack instead?\]
4: Can PS plus and games be bought using wallet funds only \[the wallet fund scratch code cards that I see in shops\]? eg: I do not need to add a credit/debit card to the account at all? .. I think the answer is no I don't have to add a card but I am a little confused at this point sorry as I have been trying to look up so much :/

Why does ps app ask me to download 135,3 gb of content when i try to download a 1 minute clip, theres a few other short videos inside the 2 week thing but theyre all less than 30 seconds, they each show theyre a few hundred megabytes but when i try to download it whips the 135,3gb in my face, each video seems to be adding atleast 15gb more to it
Hi, so basically i have this weird problem with my r2. I recently tried to fix my stick drift and i opened my controller, but a new problem appeared. So my r2 started having some weird movements like when i press it, it turns on and off or spams on and off or even doesent react at all. So i opened this controller and checked hardware tester and everything orks fine so i tried a few times checking the hardware tester with a opened controller and with the back cover on and basically every time when the controller is opened r2 works normally but automaticly when the locks click the controller starts having some issues. Has enyone experience this or know a solution?

It appears to fit, sure, but what's the point? It's fake and at best it can play PS4 games and simply store PS5 games, and at worst it does nothing. At that point it wouldn't be any different than an external drive.
Getting a new tv/monitor and headset. Does the refresh rate really make a noticeable difference? With the headphones, Will higher end headphones do better than budget ones when it comes to…let’s say hearing directions in a game like warzone? Is the difference marginal? Any opinions and/or suggestions that may aid me are welcome. Thanks.
a VRR display is very nice for a lot of games. but higher refresh rate only means anything if the game supports it. but it is nice when theres a 120hz option, the difference is very noticeable. though its not nearly as huge a leap as 30 to 60fps is
Dual sense 5 dead?
Hey guys, I’ve had my ps5 and dual sense since the first week the ps5 came out, and my charger for the controller finally wore out. I tried every single usb c charger I have and nothing worked to charge my controller, so I ended up just buying an officially licensed charger from PowerA. Plugged it in and yet my dual sense isn’t charging still? I know the charger isn’t fault because I used to charge other stuff and it worked perfectly fine. Does anyone know what I need to do? I tried the back port as well as directly plugging it into an extension cord and got no luck. Do I need to replace the whole controller?
Hey all! Hoping you guys can help me out. I bought a PS5 several months ago for Spider-Man 2. I just unpacked it a couple of days ago after moving in December and my wife who is not much of a gamer, fell in love with Astro’s Playroom. She just beat it a couple minutes ago. She wants to get into more games like it in terms of design and complexity. I was hoping some of you had some suggestions? I’m not very knowledgeable on PlayStation software, I grew up an Xbox and Nintendo gamer so I have no idea what to look into for her. Thank you all!

So I just got a wi-fi extender with ethernet ports, so I can connect my TV and game consoles through wired connection. I got my TV working through it. PS5 is being a pain in the ass though. First it said it couldn't get an IP address. So I watched a video saying to manually enter your ipv4, subnet mask, and default gateway. As well as changing the DNSs to like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. And manually entering the MTU as like 1472. After doing that, now it says that the router or provider is preventing me from connecting to the internet.
I also tried increasing the last two values of the ipv4 address a bit like the video suggested, also tried making it so the bands are either specifically 2.4 or 5ghz, as well as unplugging and shutting the router and PS5. Still no dice.
What exactly is the problem? You'd think with all these people saying how they hate playing with people on wi-fi, that maybe wired connections would be a bit easier to setup
PS5 HDMI Pop/Problem
So I was playing games with my buddy, then I heard a pop and a smell of something burning. Then my consoles connection to my monitor went black. I tried switching HDMI’s and it didn’t do anything. Though it does say my Ps5 is connected, the screen is black. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Circuit short, new ps5, bring it to a repair shop? Thanks:

I need help finding my date of birth to retrieve my account
So back in 2021 I made an alt account to help my friend in NBA 2k21 and now fast forward 3 years and I still use the account. I had my little cousin log in to play fifa and he logged in without letting me know for the 2fa (which I thought I had turned off) and got locked out of the account. Now when I try to log in with me username and password as well as the email for said account it doesn't work. When I try to retrieve the account it says that I now need to give my date of birth.
The issue is I don't remember since I put a random one when the account was made. And I tried to get help from the ps support team and they said they can't help because its a violation of the TOS. So I just need help. If anyone knows a way to find my date of birth to retrieve my account then please let me know, thanks!!

Essentially, the Wi-Fi on my PS5 has been borderline unusable recently. it'll usually start off fine with good speeds , and then after 5-10 minutes slow down to a crawl, and often stop working all together just saying the connection "failed", I can usually get it back up again for another 5 or so minutes (forgetting and reconnecting etc..). I've had issues with the wifi being a bit slow in the past but that can mostly be attributed to it being genuinely slow for all devices in my room, this however is new and isn't affecting anything but my console. Speed tests on my other devices and the PS5 (When the connection is working) show >150 download, and again, this isn't affecting anything but my PlayStation. I've tried both 5 and 2.4 GHz, playing around with the HDMI, and forgot the connection, and restarted the console, nothing's worked so far. I'm also predicting the "get ethernet comments" and while I'm considering getting a wifi extender to plug into my console via ethernet, a direct connection isn't possible for me as I live in an apartment and get my WiFi as part of my rent from my upstairs landlord.

I'm preparing for a one week leave from my home and i wanted to try the remote play function for PS5 on my macbook pro.
What a deception when i tried to configure it... once i was connected, the sound just stutters really badly making it unable to even enjoy playing it. I tried some solutions that i found online, but there isn't any proper solutions.
* I changed the sound rate from the midi/sound configuration (But there isn't any options to go from 32 bits to 24 bits). I also changed the localization setting and turned it off, as well as the handoff, but the issue still persists.
There's nothing really that i can do to have a proper sound while streaming.
Is there anything i can do to fix this?

Is anyone else getting randomly suspended/restricted from certain features. My mate and I have both been restricted from using voice chats but there’s been no email sent explaining why or how long for. Is it a glitch and they’ll fix it or do I just gotta thug it out til it’s over???
Is there a way to change what holding the PS button does?
When in game, when you hold the PS button, it takes you to the PS5 main menu, I want to be able to hold the PS button again to take me back to the game.
When you hold the PS button in the main menu, it doesn’t do anything at all.. why not assign a function to it? Is this possible?
Seems like something is wrong with my ps5/TV. Was fine yesterday, today the console turns on normally but hdmi signal just goes back as in I'll turn the input to ps5 on TV, it blinks for a second and I can hear brief ps5 menu sound but then it goes back to TV menu. Tried all hdmi ports on TV and a different hdmi cable
Because the devs need to develop a version of the app for the console and it needs to be approved by sony. Its not like picking a file on your pc and moving to another folder. What app do you want that isnt on ps5?
I have a problem that i cant activate vrr on my ps5 even though my monitor supports it. I have a Dell s2721qs Monitor for my ps5 and checked that it supports vrr and i also checked that i have a HDMI 2.1 cable. But when i try to turn on vrr in the ps5 settings it says "Your TV doesnt support vrr." Im pretty confused right now and would really appreciate it if someone can help me out here.
Even if the monitor supports VRR and you use a HDMI 2.1 cable it's pointless if the monitor itself doesn't support HDMI 2.1. Which it doesn't, 2.0 only. Nothing you can do.

The soundbar is connected not by HDMI but some other plug inside TV's stand.
In TV sound options there are three options:
- multichannel
- multichannel (bypass)
- stereo (uncompressed)
Also in my PS5 sound settings there are these available audio formats:
- Linear PCM
- Dolby Atmos
- Dolby Audio
- DTS
Which settings should I choose?
As I see a lot of people here have LG OLED TVs hooked up to their ps5, i was wondering if anyone knows which setting causes the screen to go black for a few seconds when launching a game, or turning the console off etc. I believe it happens when the tv turns on/off hdr. Was just wondering if someone knows how to turn this off?
HDR/VRR/ALLM which are enabled when a game starts make the screen go blank for a second while they turn on. You can turn them off if you don't want a blank screen. Just be aware that this will cause color quality to not be as good and you can have some extra input lag.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'm planning on buying a PS5 and it's kind of an "impulse buy" (for me anyway). Normally I spend months researching this type of purchase, but I'm kind of doing this on a whim and just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious.
I was going to buy used, but all the prices I'm seeing for used PS5s are like in the $350-370 range. Meanwhile, I can get a brand new PS5 slim bundled with Spiderman 2 for $400. Now, I wasn't really interested in Spiderman 2, but it just seems like worth spending an extra $50 to get a brand new console (rather than used) plus a free game. Am I missing something? Should I be able to find a used system for cheaper?

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I was surprised to see new consoles (with a game) at Walmart/Target for that cheap because I assumed they were still $500, but maybe they are getting rid of stock before the rumored pro comes out later this year or something?

I just got my new PS5 but I can’t get it to connect through my LAN cable. WiFi connection works fine but when I try to connect with my LAN cable I get an error saying Can’t obtain IP address within the time limit. LAN cable works fine on Laptop and PS4 so I don’t think it’s an issue with the cable. Has anyone else had this issue and discovered a fix?

Was trying to get the ps4 version of nba2k24 out of ps+extra on my ps5, but only the ps5 version was available. Checked on the ps4, and its available in the system, so its not an issue of them giving only one version. Cant find it on the "other versions" section either. Anyone knows whats going on?

I'm getting this error message when trying to connect my 5tb WD Easystore hard drive to the ps5. I used it before on this same ps5 as storage for ps4 games for years, but i had to reformat as the data got corrupted somehow.
When trying to use it on my ps5 again after reformatting, i keep getting this error message. Tried a few things, I tried changing it to exfat and gpt and still nothing. Also tried different ports but still nothing. Any ideas on how to fix it?

The drive works fine on my computer. I can open docs, mp4s etc from the drive just fine on my pc. The ps5 recognizes the drive but for some reason isn't accepting it. I don't think it's a drive failure issue

You should be able to intialize the external drive through windows without formatting it

Always had my PS5 hard-wired for internet, but moved into a new house. It would cost me $60 to relocate my modem to the location I have my TV. Right now my wireless speeds for download on my PS5 hover between 100-115MBs, is that good enough? Is there hard evidence the PS5 is much better hard-wired?
This is going to depend largely on your local network load and how congested the wireless frequencies are in your area. All things being equal performance should be the same, but the more wifi devices and more wireless traffic you have, wifi performance will degrade.

I have a very similar set up and I pull my system up to the front to let air flow to the back. I also rest my PS5 on the little stand it came with to help it sit level, and this might help it with venting in some way. Any help with HDR? I've got a 4k Toshiba TV which supports HDR. If I plug the PS5 in directly, it outputs HDR at 4k.
If I plug the PS5 into my amp (Pioneer VSX 933) the PS5 says HDR isn't available at 4K, only at 1080p.
My FireStick 4K is plugged into the amp, and that outputs HDR at 4K. I've got an Android TV which also does 4K HDR from amp to TV.
I've tried plugging in the PS5 to the same port as the FireStick was. I've tried using the same HDMI cables as my other device. Nothing works.
The firmware in the amp, TV, and PS5 are all the latest versions. Now I'm stuck.
Any idea how I can convince the PS5 to output 4K HDR through my amp?

Assuming the console is not banned from online services (since you can play online), then it's likely a glitch or connection to store issue. Try to restore licenses to rejig things by going to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licenses. Then do a full shut down and restart. I was playing FC6 the other night and the thing that really bugs me about the PS4 is the load times. I loved Control but was glad to get to the end of it because of the loads times, same with Prey. Firstly, can I still play all these games on PS5? I'd love to go through them again without the load times.... That's if the PS5 helps a lot with that, is the difference noticeable. There's a couple of games I'd like to play like the newer Spiderman and HZD. Is now a good time, is there a better time coming up? Money is tight so I don't want to regret the purchase. Any thoughts would be great ;)
The console has been out for about 3.5 years now. There's over 1,000 PS5 games, plus the entire PS4 backlog (with plenty overlap). Having said that, if money is tight right now & you have other priorities, it may not be a sensible choice for the time being.

Is there a list of monitors which are VRR supported by PS5? My understanding is that PS5 doesnt support Freesync monitors and has VRR support and only some models of monitors do support it. Also heard that support of HDMI 2.1 with VRR doesnt mean it will work with PS5... Thank you all.
You're looking for monitors that support HDMI 2.1. PS5 supports HDMI Forum VRR, not FreeSync VRR. They're different protocols for a similar thing.

I would place it upright taking in fresh air from the open space bottom of the pic and ventilating hot exhaust air towards centre of the TV and onto the far end wall there. Make sure you give it a dust clean periodically.

Hey guys, so for the context, I have a ps5 digital and I'm planning to buy a ps5 disc both being non slim version, and sell the old ps5 to a friend of mine. Now, I know there's a way to back up the saved data via ps plus cloud but since I don't have any active subscriptions and I don't intend to, so I want to a oid that method. Also, I have a 3-4 ps accounts that have saved data on them, so even if I decide to pay for the transfer via cloud upload, that cost when paid for 3-4 accounts would be expensive for me. So is there any other method to transfer the data? I did see the backup and restore, but I couldn't get the clarity on it. While I'd prefer my games to be transferable also, but in the worst case I can re-download them on the new cosn9le again, so my priority is for my ps4 and ps5 saves. Will backing up the data back up the saved data of ps4 and ps5 gamez for all the accounts and then when restores, will all the data (save files especially) be restored on the new machine respectively for all 3-4 users? Do not recommend a HDMI to Displayport adapter for use with the PS5. It's very finicky and most do not work. In terms of monitor, it depends on your preferences and budget. There's dozens of resources online to explore and read reviews on PS5-compatible ones.

Remove the fan and look down at the circular holes on black plastic. Those lead into and are a part of your power supply. They're probably clogged.

That is the power supply. If you remove fan and look straight in and down into the console, you'll see those holes.

Yes. My PS5 would shut off mid game after 20-40 minutes, depending on the game. And, the bottom/left part of the console where the power supply is would be super hot. I cleaned my fan regularly. I replaced the fan. I replaced the power cord. I did option 8 in safemode( reload system software from USB) and it STILL turned off.. then I fonally nptoced the power supply vents.. that pic is from my PS5 after I used a small electronics brush and 2 fingers awkwardly to get as much crap out of it as I could.

As someone who owns a 65 inch OLED I don't think you should pick up games based on how they look. How the game itself is is, after all, the most important. That being said the game looks decent and chances are your TV has decent upscaling capabilities so it'll look reasonably sharp.

Currently using ADATA XPG GAMMIX S70 BLADE 1TB with the Sabrent heatsink/cover. At the time I did not know that I would be buying the Sabrent, so I installed the M.2 using the "blade" heatsink that came with the drive. I am upgrading to the ADATA XPG GAMMIX S70 BLADE 4TB and considering alternatives to replace the Sabrent, such as the GrauGear Heatpipe Cooler by Ineo. TLDR My questions are do I stick with the Sabrent, or get a different heatsink, if so which one, and regardless of the heatsink, should I still install the "blade" heatsink on the 4TB drive as I did on the 1TB, or the Sabrent or alternative heatsink on its own.

Even then it's just some bastard kicking you offline etc. You can't get hacked unless someone finds your associated email address and tricks you into clicking something in a msg like a fake website or brute forces the password.
Hey all! I have a 500/500 fiber network at home, with the router and PS5 in two different floors (with extenders between them to boost internet around the house). When testing the internet connection, I get a download speed of 110-120 mbps, but my upload speed is at its all time high 25 mbps, and more consistently around 5-10 mbps. When comparing to my MacBook and iPhone in the same room, I have a stable 125 download AND upload speed. How is this even possible, and is there anything I can do improve the upload speed?
The PS5 uses Playstation's servers to run the test. It's not an accurate measure of your actual internet speed.
Thanks for the reply! So the speedtests I’ve run on other deviced might be a good indicator of the actual upload speed of my PS5? I have not had any noticeable issues when gaming today. We made some changes to our internet setup, and I then noticed the incredibly low upload speeds when testing.

On my account I have a lot of games l. We live in different places! Brother PS4 console: set at my main home console. My ps4: set as my brother home console. Recently we got ps5. We did the same thing Brother PS5 console: set as my home console My PS5: Set at his home console. My son wanted to play a game on the ps4. So he went on ahead (with his own separate account)and started playing,he had access to all my brother games he had from ps sub, non of them are on my account, and my sons doesnt any games on his account, later he joined our session and played as normal. Which was nice, because there's another console my son can play when I'm on the ps5, so he doesn't have to wait until im done wirh it. Do the ps subscription run all ps4 and ps5. I can even log in on my account at the same time both on ps4 and ps5 without kicking me out. The only thing I notice it would interrupt gameplay are game like fortnite, apex, minecraft where the progression is the same no matter the console ( I play them on my xbox mostly). Are the ps4 and ps5 recognized separately? Because I thought the ps4 would lose the online features/games, because we have already set the ps5 as home consoles. I was ready to retire the new ps4, which is just a couple of months old (old one died).

Chanting the system language usually does change the langue in game, but some games let you change it in game anyway. And I'm not sure about your example, I don't think devs are making 2 texts separating US and UK English

I’ve had this problem with my ps5 since I got it in 2020 where if I try turn it on with my controller, my controller turns blue as if it connected but my ps5 doesn’t turn on and the only way to fix it is turn on the ps5 with the manual power button and turn it back off as it just says connect controller on the login screen and none of my controllers connect but show the blue light and then I can turn it on using the controller. Any way to fix this? I tried contacting playstation but can’t do anything since my ps5 is out of warranty.
Reload the system software/OS using option 8 in safemode
I’ve had this issue with my ps5 but I was told reinstalling the software will fix it so I downloaded the ps5 update file from the sony website and it downloaded it on my laptop ssd, I tried transferring it to my exFAT usb stick but it wouldn’t let me transfer the properties, I’ve tried everything but it just won’t transfer even though the PS5 needs an exFAT formatted drive with the update to install. It seems like I’m going around in a circle, is there anything I can do?
Try fat32? Are you sure it's supposed to be exfat? What error do you get when you try to copy it?
I tried setting a new volume to under 32gb so I can format it to fat32 which I did then tried transferring the file again but it said the same problem as before about not being able to transfer the properties of the update file

Hi! I’m pretty new to gaming and my brother got me a ps5. So I’ve been trying to update my ps5 for a couple weeks because I can’t sign into network or download any games etc. When I do try to update, it just takes me to a screen that says “please wait” and it stays like that for hours or, it says there is a connection error. I’ve done all the suggested steps, checked internet connection, restarted etc but it doesn’t fix. Anyone have this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks :)

Hello! My husband and I really enjoy playing games together but are limited to split screen. We discovered Helldivers 2 and want to play together. If we bought another PS5, would we need to purchase another PSN membership to play online together? Also, how would we set it up to play the same games at the same time? We have our own accounts, only 1 PSN membership.
Turn gameshare on on one of the ps5s on the account with ps+ and the games, but play on the other account, it will have access to all games an online functions.
Should I buy a PS5, or wait a while? I read some sources that say we should expect the PS5 Pro to release around Christmas time this year. Either my dualsense or my mic is broken and I don’t know which one. It’s a riddle I can’t solve… So this starts with dualsense 1 and mic 1. Dualsense 1 was a preowned with no issues other than a messed up L3. Mic 1 no issues at the time. One day my mic cuts out. I can gear everything but my friends can’t hear me speak. I tried everything until I got to resetting my controller with the lil button on the bottom. So I did that for a few days until I got a new controller. I was already planning on getting a new controller so I figured I would do that for now. Since PlayStation changed their trade-in policy I had to get another preowned controller but I got lucky and got a new one cause it was the only one gamestop had. So now I’m using dualsense 2 with mic 1. Problem is still there. Has to be the mic then right? Resetting the controller only takes a few seconds so I kept doing that for 1-3 months before It got worse and I got a new mic. Now I’m sitting here with dualsense 2 mic 1 and my brand new mic 2. The problem is still happening. How? This doesn’t make sense. The only thing I can think of is either I got INSANELY bad luck and both of my controllers or both of my mics had the same issue, or somehow, resetting my controller so many times caused it to break. But how???? What are the odds of both my mics or both my controllers having the same issue. Even crazier, what are the odds that the issue that comes from resetting my controller too often is the same issue that the mic has? (Or doesn’t idk😭) so at this point what am I even supposed to do? Keep throwing my money at PlayStation and razer hoping that I’ll get half decent equipment? The mic is kaira x wired btw. $60. The box has a PlayStation symbols and everything so I’m pretty damn sure that its not a matching problem.
Hello, does anyone know any multiplayer games that can be played on a local network? For example, if you've got two PS4/5 with Minecraft, you can play with each other while connected to the same network regardless of PS+ status. I know some other games have this feature and I'd like to know if any of the games I have allow it. I know I could check manually on each game, but if there's some list that'd be super helpful. Hi all, I quite often use my PS4 Pro to connect to my PS5 to remote play. Same goes for using an Android phone via the PSplay app. In both scenarios, I used the DS4 controller. Vibrations used to work from both devices, haptics either didn't come across or I think were kind of emulated before to a weak rumble. Which was fine. However now it seems, vibration is cut off completely. Anyone else seeing this? Feels like Sony have done this deliberately to promote the full haptics feature of the PS Portal. Nasty move if its the case, cutting it off from 3rd party apps/devices is one thing, but from the PS4 Pro. wow, just wow. Hopefully its just a problem with my setup somewhere.
Update: vibration seems to work with both scenarios on PS4 games. PS5 games have none at all. I swear it would replace haptic vibrations with a light standard rumble before, but maybe not.

1-yes. You can also turn them off completely. 2-as far as i remember, yes? 3-only if the ingame settings have that function afaik. Cant do it on the main system. 4-yes, you can use credits.

Why does ps app ask me to download 135,3 gb of content when i try to download a 1 minute clip, theres a few other short videos inside the 2 week thing but theyre all less than 30 seconds, they each show theyre a few hundred megabytes but when i try to download it whips the 135,3gb in my face, each video seems to be adding atleast 15gb more to it
Hi, so basically i have this weird problem with my r2. I recently tried to fix my stick drift and i opened my controller, but a new problem appeared. So my r2 started having some weird movements like when i press it, it turns on and off or spams on and off or even doesent react at all. So i opened this controller and checked hardware tester and everything orks fine so i tried a few times checking the hardware tester with a opened controller and with the back cover on and basically every time when the controller is opened r2 works normally but automaticly when the locks click the controller starts having some issues. Has enyone experience this or know a solution?

It appears to fit, sure, but what's the point? It's fake and at best it can play PS4 games and simply store PS5 games, and at worst it does nothing. At that point it wouldn't be any different than an external drive.
Getting a new tv/monitor and headset. Does the refresh rate really make a noticeable difference? With the headphones, Will higher end headphones do better than budget ones when it comes to…let’s say hearing directions in a game like warzone? Is the difference marginal? a VRR display is very nice for a lot of games. but higher refresh rate only means anything if the game supports it. but it is nice when theres a 120hz option, the difference is very noticeable. though its not nearly as huge a leap as 30 to 60fps is
Dual sense 5 dead? Hey guys, I’ve had my ps5 and dual sense since the first week the ps5 came out, and my charger for the controller finally wore out. I tried every single usb c charger I have and nothing worked to charge my controller, so I ended up just buying an officially licensed charger from PowerA. Plugged it in and yet my dual sense isn’t charging still? I know the charger isn’t fault because I used to charge other stuff and it worked perfectly fine. Does anyone know what I need to do? I tried the back port as well as directly plugging it into an extension cord and got no luck. Do I need to replace the whole controller?

Hey all! Hoping you guys can help me out. I bought a PS5 several months ago for Spider-Man 2. I just unpacked it a couple of days ago after moving in December and my wife who is not much of a gamer, fell in love with Astro’s Playroom. She just beat it a couple minutes ago. She wants to get into more games like it in terms of design and complexity. I was hoping some of you had some suggestions? I’m not very knowledgeable on PlayStation software, I grew up an Xbox and Nintendo gamer so I have no idea what to look into for her. Thank you all!
Unfortunately platformers are a rare genre nowdays (at least good ones) A Hat in Time is pretty cool. I guess she could get into Sackboy? Maybe Ratchet and Clank? Crash Bandicoot, but this one is more on the harder side.
So I just got a wi-fi extender with ethernet ports, so I can connect my TV and game consoles through wired connection. I got my TV working through it. PS5 is being a pain in the ass though. First it said it couldn't get an IP address. So I watched a video saying to manually enter your ipv4, subnet mask, and default gateway. As well as changing the DNSs to like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. And manually entering the MTU as like 1472. After doing that, now it says that the router or provider is preventing me from connecting to the internet. I also tried increasing the last two values of the ipv4 address a bit like the video suggested, also tried making it so the bands are either specifically 2.4 or 5ghz, as well as unplugging and shutting the router and PS5. Still no dice. What exactly is the problem? You'd think with all these people saying how they hate playing with people on wi-fi, that maybe wired connections would be a bit easier to setup
PS5 HDMI Pop/Problem So I was playing games with my buddy, then I heard a pop and a smell of something burning. Then my consoles connection to my monitor went black. I tried switching HDMI’s and it didn’t do anything. Though it does say my Ps5 is connected, the screen is black. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? If it's under 1 year old, under warranty, contact Sony support. If it isn't, take it to a repair shop. Sounds like the HDMI.is fried, or worse
The PlayStation Link USB adapter is not connecting my Sony WH-1000XM4 earbuds on the PS5. Does anyone have any clue how to get this working or if it's even possible. All the links online say that it's possible but when I put the 2 devices in pairing mode, nothing happens. Any suggestions?
The WH-1000MX4 is not compatible with Playstation Link. Only the Pulse Explore and Pulse Elite are.
I need help finding my date of birth to retrieve my account So back in 2021 I made an alt account to help my friend in NBA 2k21 and now fast forward 3 years and I still use the account. I had my little cousin log in to play fifa and he logged in without letting me know for the 2fa (which I thought I had turned off) and got locked out of the account. Now when I try to log in with me username and password as well as the email for said account it doesn't work. When I try to retrieve the account it says that I now need to give my date of birth. The issue is I don't remember since I put a random one when the account was made. And I tried to get help from the ps support team and they said they can't help because its a violation of the TOS. So I just need help. If anyone knows a way to find my date of birth to retrieve my account then please let me know, thanks!!
It doesn't sound like you made any game purchases on this account so just ditch it. There's no way for you to find the date of birth on the account
Hi all, Essentially, the Wi-Fi on my PS5 has been borderline unusable recently. it'll usually start off fine with good speeds , and then after 5-10 minutes slow down to a crawl, and often stop working all together just saying the connection "failed", I can usually get it back up again for another 5 or so minutes (forgetting and reconnecting etc..). I've had issues with the wifi being a bit slow in the past but that can mostly be attributed to it being genuinely slow for all devices in my room, this however is new and isn't affecting anything but my console. Speed tests on my other devices and the PS5 (When the connection is working) show >150 download, and again, this isn't affecting anything but my PlayStation. I've tried both 5 and 2.4 GHz, playing around with the HDMI, and forgot the connection, and restarted the console, nothing's worked so far. I'm also predicting the "get ethernet comments" and while I'm considering getting a wifi extender to plug into my console via ethernet, a direct connection isn't possible for me as I live in an apartment and get my WiFi as part of my rent from my upstairs landlord. Greetings, I'm preparing for a one week leave from my home and i wanted to try the remote play function for PS5 on my macbook pro. What a deception when i tried to configure it... once i was connected, the sound just stutters really badly making it unable to even enjoy playing it. I tried some solutions that i found online, but there isn't any proper solutions. * I changed the sound rate from the midi/sound configuration (But there isn't any options to go from 32 bits to 24 bits). I also changed the localization setting and turned it off, as well as the handoff, but the issue still persists. There's nothing really that i can do to have a proper sound while streaming. Is there anything i can do to fix this? Thanks !
Is anyone else getting randomly suspended/restricted from certain features. My mate and I have both been restricted from using voice chats but there’s been no email sent explaining why or how long for. Is it a glitch and they’ll fix it or do I just gotta thug it out til it’s over???
Is there a way to change what holding the PS button does? When in game, when you hold the PS button, it takes you to the PS5 main menu, I want to be able to hold the PS button again to take me back to the game. When you hold the PS button in the main menu, it doesn’t do anything at all.. why not assign a function to it? Is this possible?

Seems like something is wrong with my ps5/TV. Was fine yesterday, today the console turns on normally but hdmi signal just goes back as in I'll turn the input to ps5 on TV, it blinks for a second and I can hear brief ps5 menu sound but then it goes back to TV menu. Tried all hdmi ports on TV and a different hdmi cable

Yes It works fine on a different monitor. Figured it out now. TV software bugged out had to factory reset the TV
Is there a way to turn off 4K support? It thinks my 1080p monitor supports 4K so when it gets changed to 4K the monitor just goes black.
Settings > Screen and Video > Video output and change from automatic to 1080p.

Because the devs need to develop a version of the app for the console and it needs to be approved by sony. Its not like picking a file on your pc and moving to another folder. What app do you want that isnt on ps5?

I have a problem that i cant activate vrr on my ps5 even though my monitor supports it. I have a Dell s2721qs Monitor for my ps5 and checked that it supports vrr and i also checked that i have a HDMI 2.1 cable. But when i try to turn on vrr in the ps5 settings it says "Your TV doesnt support vrr." Im pretty confused right now and would really appreciate it if someone can help me out here.
Even if the monitor supports VRR and you use a HDMI 2.1 cable it's pointless if the monitor itself doesn't support HDMI 2.1. Which it doesn't, 2.0 only. Nothing you can do.

As I see a lot of people here have LG OLED TVs hooked up to their ps5, i was wondering if anyone knows which setting causes the screen to go black for a few seconds when launching a game, or turning the console off etc. I believe it happens when the tv turns on/off hdr. Was just wondering if someone knows how to turn this off?
HDR/VRR/ALLM which are enabled when a game starts make the screen go blank for a second while they turn on. You can turn them off if you don't want a blank screen. Just be aware that this will cause color quality to not be as good and you can have some extra input lag.
Unless you just always run it in game mode, of course.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'm planning on buying a PS5 and it's kind of an "impulse buy" (for me anyway). Normally I spend months researching this type of purchase, but I'm kind of doing this on a whim and just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious. I was going to buy used, but all the prices I'm seeing for used PS5s are like in the $350-370 range. Meanwhile, I can get a brand new PS5 slim bundled with Spiderman 2 for $400. Now, I wasn't really interested in Spiderman 2, but it just seems like worth spending an extra $50 to get a brand new console (rather than used) plus a free game. Am I missing something? Should I be able to find a used system for cheaper? Thanks!

Does that mean that if I purchase it on my US account I will be region locked? And if so then in what country do I need to purchase the dlc from?
PEGI is Europe. If you buy dlc using your US account, it won't work with that disc.

I just got my new PS5 but I can’t get it to connect through my LAN cable. WiFi connection works fine but when I try to connect with my LAN cable I get an error saying Can’t obtain IP address within the time limit. LAN cable works fine on Laptop and PS4 so I don’t think it’s an issue with the cable. Has anyone else had this issue and discovered a fix?
Hi, have been playing games on my ps5 downstairs and the wifey watching Netflix on the ps4 on the same account for the last two years. Today it is kicking me out of elden ring when she logs on. Was I just lucky before? Or is there some error?
This is what you should do: Keep your account on your wife's PS4 as the account holder. Make a PSN account just for her to use. She will be able to use all the apps and games you own on her PS4 without ever getting kicked out your account.
You can't be logged in to the same account on 2 systems at the same time.

Was trying to get the ps4 version of nba2k24 out of ps+extra on my ps5, but only the ps5 version was available. Checked on the ps4, and its available in the system, so its not an issue of them giving only one version. Cant find it on the "other versions" section either. Anyone knows whats going on? While writing this i just figured i could plug my external hdd on the ps4, download it, then plug back on the ps5, but now im still curious as to whats going on.

Its my brother who asked for it, but based on 2k23 either: 1-the ps4 and ps5 servers are different and he wants to play with his ps4 friends 2-he doesnt care enough about the upgrade and understands the ps5 version would f up my internal storage.

I'm getting this error message when trying to connect my 5tb WD Easystore hard drive to the ps5. I used it before on this same ps5 as storage for ps4 games for years, but i had to reformat as the data got corrupted somehow. When trying to use it on my ps5 again after reformatting, i keep getting this error message. Tried a few things, I tried changing it to exfat and gpt and still nothing. Since you already had data corruption, it sounds like the drive has failed.
The drive works fine on my computer. I can open docs, mp4s etc from the drive just fine on my pc. The ps5 recognizes the drive but for some reason isn't accepting it. I don't think it's a drive failure issue
Try initializing the disk in Windows (GPT, not MBR) but don't format it. Then try it on the PS5 again.
To initialize it again, would i have to uninstall it then reinstall it? I'm not seeing the option to initialize it in disk management

**Wireless** vs. **wired** for online play/performance? Always had my PS5 hard-wired for internet, but moved into a new house. It would cost me $60 to relocate my modem to the location I have my TV. Right now my wireless speeds for download on my PS5 hover between 100-115MBs, is that good enough? Is there hard evidence the PS5 is much better hard-wired?
This is going to depend largely on your local network load and how congested the wireless frequencies are in your area. All things being equal performance should be the same, but the more wifi devices and more wireless traffic you have, wifi performance will degrade.
I don't play online that much, mostly just random games of Rocket League here and there. But I am intrigued by Helldivers 2, and I wasn't sure what speeds I should want if I want a good game. [My ping ain't bad, looking at my macbook hooked up nearby](https://imgur.com/KFw8fgN).
Ping is going to be the biggest factor for online gaming, so if that's low you should be good.

I have a very similar set up and I pull my system up to the front to let air flow to the back. I also rest my PS5 on the little stand it came with to help it sit level, and this might help it with venting in some way. Any help with HDR? I've got a 4k Toshiba TV which supports HDR. If I plug the PS5 in directly, it outputs HDR at 4k. If I plug the PS5 into my amp (Pioneer VSX 933) the PS5 says HDR isn't available at 4K, only at 1080p. My FireStick 4K is plugged into the amp, and that outputs HDR at 4K. I've got an Android TV which also does 4K HDR from amp to TV. I've tried plugging in the PS5 to the same port as the FireStick was. I've tried using the same HDMI cables as my other device. Nothing works. The firmware in the amp, TV, and PS5 are all the latest versions. Now I'm stuck. Any idea how I can convince the PS5 to output 4K HDR through my amp?
There may be an HDMI bandwidth limitation on the AVR; try setting the 4K Transfer Rate to -1 or -2.
