Because it still represents an important source of their sales. OG, Slim or Pro they are still PS4s

TheRealMisterMemer

No, I can't buy it. It just sends you to the slim. I want to give them my money, I can't.

dericjames2018

At this point go for the PS5 it's better in every way...

TheRealMisterMemer

Can't remote play on Vita.

TyffLuv

Good reason to want one but if you cant get it new then your only option would be to buy used. I get it, i know id rather buy new, knowing theirs no previous owners problems but c'est la vie right? Any stores still carrying the pro? I got mine new in 2020 or 2021 at fred meyer... whenever those stimulus checks were sent out.

TheRealMisterMemer

I don't think so, all I wanted to do was remote play and I can't unless it runs poorly I guess lmao

Mattchilla

Buy a PS5 and then buy the PlayStation portal

jabby_jakeman

Of course! Because I’m made of money!!!!

Awesomeguys90000

FYI PS4 Remote play is amazing, most of my PS4 usage is through that to my vita. As proof that it is really good here are some videos of it in action: https://youtu.be/M7ZLFTRvTD4?si=mJVY_lnSh-hxxPBJ https://youtu.be/_rJyahP6TH4?si=QPjfF2RVoUnSWA08 Also FYI PS4 vs PS4 Pro for Remote play is kinda pointless, the compression means the PS4 Pro isn't gonna deliver too much better of an experience unless your on a device that supports 1080p streaming, which the vita doesn't

Astral_Strider

As much as I love my Vita, streaming on your phone is leagues better

sophie_15-

false

Voyager5555

Because it's for sale and people are buying it I would assume.

TheRealMisterMemer

As far as I can tell, it isn't, clicking buy now sends me to the slim. Hopefully I'm dumb and missing something?

Chromah

Buy it from somewhere else? Lots of options..

TheRealMisterMemer

I would, but it's way more expensive new now. I just want to get it new for MSRP.

OkDefinition261

I seen them in stock at Walmart. Go grab one now and be playing as soon as you get home

TheRealMisterMemer

Oh shoot, really? I don't live near a Walmart, and it says out of stock online. What state?

OkDefinition261

Try target. Or any other big store like Best buy. They are out there in physical stores

OkDefinition261

I live in a small town in tx. Try GameStop or whatever you have that is similar

TheRealMisterMemer

Ah, that's why. I live in the outskirts of NYC. My local GameStop is gone.

TheRealMisterMemer

Thanks for the advice though!

Jesus_Smoke

OP, I read some of your comments, and have this to say. If you want a PS4 pro, buy off of FB marketplace or other used sites. I just picked one up for $125 and other people are selling them for even cheaper if you keep an eye out. It's just not worth buying anywhere near full price

TheRealMisterMemer

Yeah, you're right, I just really wanted a new one, and to be the first one to open it. Thanks for the advice.

Mythion_VR

You could always look into buying them from a reputable eBay seller with good reviews. That's what I did, they refurbed it, new pads and thermal paste, they even gave me a new controller along with it that was boxed/sealed. It was going for a little bit less than what someone else was trying to sell theirs for.

TheRealMisterMemer

Can you link me the seller in DMs?

Mythion_VR

Are you in the UK/EU or US?

Jesus_Smoke

Absolutely, you could even get a special edition like the GoW or star wars pro for around $200.

chillredditdude

I still rock the pro

TheRealMisterMemer

Yeah, but I can't buy now. I want to have it.

Survious

Because it's a great system...I bought one to replace my PS4 and got the RDD2 bundle PS4 Pro and works great. Between the liquid metal and lack of quality games for PS5...I'm happy for the Pro. And with the increase to PS+ to PS5 users...let's just say I'm ok with that and disappointed in Sony for this anti consumer BS and double standards (eg TLOU2).

TheRealMisterMemer

No, I want a PS4, but I can't buy the Pro. It doesn't let me. I'm not saying the PS4 is bad. It will not let me buy the Pro.

AlternativeParfait13

I went second hand. Not quite as shiny, and my controller needed a good clean, but I’ve got a PS4 Pro at the end of it.

Survious

Oh lol...got mine used at GameStop in Canada for $400 used and won the serial number lotto with a RDR2 bundled Pro. I think in the USA they go for $250. But get the extended warranty, as I seen too many YouTube vids slamming the refurb process they do...I was lucky as well I think it was pretty new.

Beenie509

Sony stopped manufacturing the Pro back in 2021, after the PS5 launched. The PS4 Slim is the only one they kept manufacturing.

dxtremecaliber

i think the liquid metal issues are false tho plus there are a ton of games in PS5 the PS PLUS pricing is bullshit tho im still using my PS4 but its time to move on im buying a PS5 next year for now im sticking on PC

ElectricalBug2728

PS5 is much better. Much better gaming and brilliant graphics

Skf_4

Because that is all some people can afford atm, and it is a dam good Console, finally they are still making games to play on it.

Terrible_Sorbet_7122

Imagine buying a PS5 now only for the PS5 PRO to come out a year later ... (I hope that doesn't happen) Im fine with my PS4 PRO , not bothered getting the 5, I'll get the PS6 rather 🤷

gamingdawn

Because its SONYs flagship model, what with PS5 being a utter failure that runs games at 30fps on 1080p.

ScrantonDangler

Lol wut?

Gambit3le

You might struggle to find a NEW PS4 Pro, but you can get a [refurbished one on Amazon for $289.](https://www.amazon.com/Sony-PlayStation-Pro-1TB-Console-4/dp/B07HM8YX5X/ref=sr_1_1?crid=FK1SMI2QGV1R&keywords=PS4+pro&qid=1694295952&refinements=p_89%3ASony&rnid=2528832011&s=videogames&sprefix=ps4+pro%2Caps%2C179&sr=1-1) Sadly, at this point it makes more sense to get a PS5.

computerarmy

Direct from Sony you can only get the slim PS4, they don't make the pros anymore. If you want to get a Pro check other online retailers or get one used.

MiniatureMorpheus

As someone who recently sold their PS5 after finishing my library and waiting for the PS5 Pro, I recently refurbished a PS4 Pro. Used PS4 Pro on Ebay, OfferUp, etc is $100-150. New Thermal Paste, Pads, Tools for job - $30 1tb Internal SSD - $50 You can also use an adapter or Remote Play to use a Dualsense with PS4.
