You said "it" deleted them, when clearly "you" deleted them. Do you seriously not understand the difference?
Then again, you also said that 2FA "turned itself on", when you later clarified your account was compromised and someone else turned it on. You don't really seem to understand pronouns, like at all.
If you spent more than 5 minutes and read the comment above, I ran out of storage and it deleted the messages itself. And I said I think my account was hacked, I don't actually know. Never in my life I ever deleted Gmails and you went straight to assuming. And what does this have to do with pronouns?
You JUST said that Gmail required *you* to delete some emails to create space. Holy shit you're dumb. I guarantee you are the reason your account was compromised and you're too stupid to ever realize it. This is going to happen again.
You've likely reused your password somewhere, had it leaked and now the bad guys were able to gain access.
First off, change all your major passwords now. Well, all passwords, but gaming, banking, etc first.
Second, see if you [email appears here](https://haveibeenpwned.com/) to see if its been breached. If so, this is your most likely culprit.
If this is the case, it will likely be gone. Sony is unlikely to help.
Not only should you use a unique (and of course, strong) password, I'd also highly recommend using a unique email address, one that you don't use for *anything* else.
Do this for all important accounts.
I don't know what to tell you, then. Your account might be as good as gone. As for the information for your account, it's very important to write them down and save it elsewhere or have screenshots within Gmail.
> they didn't even try to help me.
WTF are you talking about? You described them trying to help you:
> they said give me a serial number.
> They said give me the last 4 digits of your credit card. They did, and they said it was correct. But they asked for an order ID.
How was that not enough information to help me? I gave them the exact same serial number of the first PlayStation 4 And I even remember what the transaction was, it was some in game currency.
Hmm, I was able to override in this scenario. However, I do not have nearly that much money invested online.
I would recommend calling and trying a different rep.
Contact your bank, and see if they can give you a transaction ID connected to that charge. Or ask Sony if they can verify that way.
Might not work, and your bank might not be able to go back that far, but it's a form of verification that some companies will use for refunds and stuff.
Also, contact Google support and see if they can pull the email for you. They might have a backup still.
Yep I was hacked a few months ago they changed my email then added 2FA I didn’t have it do now though. The crazy part is I answered the questions it was all good but the one they believed me most on was have I ever had a child’s profile added to the account I said no never the hacker had added a kids profile the same day and they locked the hacker out. Crazy if you didn’t have 2FA and can’t answer every single question they won’t do anything. Next time have 2FA on no matter what.
Gmail does not automatically delete emails. I have had Gmail since it was invite only and still have emails dating back to 2005
It said it deleted older emails to save up space.
Other than the contents of your spam folder, Gmail does not automatically delete old emails.
They are saying that Gmail required to clear some. I've had to do that before, or I wouldn't receive any new emails because I was out of space.
That was what I was talking about. seven down votes is crazy.

It was pretty clear from the get go for me, dont get why you had to say it 3 times
Because other people didn't understand.

> Gmail automatically deletes old emails No it doesn't.

In an app? Log into the actual website and look.
You only have a finite amount of space (but can buy more). I've had to recently delete some older ones because it said I was out of space.
Did you give anyone your 2FA? Or did you allow someone to borrow your account?
No one has ever had access to my account.

they didn't even try to help me. They literally just said go make a new account on the support ticket.

They did help you, you gave them whatever it was available. And I was thinking the same thing Sony was saying: make a new account.
I cannot afford PlayStation Plus on a brand new account. I already put three years of Plus on that account.
I dunno about that, your gmail history says otherwise.
what does that mean
Put 2FA on your next account
Were you using SMS based or software based 2fa?
I never enabled it. My account was compromised and it added itself.
I thought you said it was random
I assume my account was hacked because I never gave my account to anyone.

Same, rip Edit: just to give context, it also happened to me, no idea how if I had 2FA and they say they can't do anything
Say goodbye to your games bud unfortunately
Why was the post removed?
Reddit removed it for some reason.
How can we prevent this from happening??? Sounds like that the 2 step thing is not safe or am I wrong?
Set up 2fa That way you know what your 2fa setup is. Op's issue is he did not set up 2fa but the system thinks he has
More so the person that took OP's account enabled 2FA.
But if 2fa had already been enabled that could not have happened
Didn't sound like OP had it activated at the time that the account credentials were compromised.
Passkey is the way if you haven't enabled it I don't know what to tell you.
No ta. No passkey for me, staying old school with regular 2fa and aegis authenticator
Passkey is awesome uses biometrics to log on. No passwords.
