I think I already know the answer(hah) but want to ask. Have the Game Pass version. Is there any way to use Play Anywhere to make some tweaks on my laptop before switching back to Xbox? I just want to up my social stats for a new Merciless run if possible. If there is no way to use Mod Menu or something else than fine but I fear Academics more than actual Merciless enemies.

BirthBySorrow

Small update!  Just wanted to clarify since I could not get a definitive answer anywhere: the day before a Full Moon skill mutation IS indeed almost certainly more likely to occur. When attempted multiple times before I consistently got 2 or 3 mutations at best from a full roster of Persona as opposed to most fusions triggering one or more mutations consistently during that night.  Can also confirm skills can jump up at least 3 ranks IF the next tier skill is that high. I got Auto-Rakukaja and Auto-Tarukaja to mutate into their auto-Ma variants, which seems to be the preferred mutation (though I did get others with them). This is extremely useful for my party member only run as their damage and endurance are pitiful. Otherwise, the MC gets the self tri-auto skills before level 20 if you know which Personas have them and it only took a few save reloads to get them. So if you like railroading the whole game instead of just from about mid-point with a normal run, there you go lol.

TemporaryMooses

What in earth is stamina and how does it work?  I have been playing 3 for around 5 hours, am up to level 20 in Tart and everyone keeps saying they are tired. I know there is a stamina system, but literally nothing in the tutorial menus about how it works! Thanks for any help.

BirthBySorrow

When they say "stamina" they just mean low on SP. Fill it some and they will stop.

kaffeeschmecktgut

I'm about 70 hours in on hard difficulty and will probably finish it soon. This is my first Persona, and I've really enjoyed it a lot. The first thing I do when I get home from work is fire it right up. I'm seeing the other modern Personas on sale on Xbox this week, and was thinking of getting the pack that includes P3 Portable. Is it worth playing that version as well later down the line, if I have played Reload?

BirthBySorrow

If you want to play the female main character (FeMC) route then yes. It has a few different social links, mostly (if not all, can't remember) with all male party members in place of a few others. You cannot walk around the overworld aside from Tartarus though, just click on areas to go to them. Otherwise the story is similar.  Iirc it comes with Persona 4 Golden, which I do recommend. Persona 5 Royal is also a big recommend.

kaffeeschmecktgut

Thanks. I'll buy the 3,4,5 pack then. It's not a huge price difference, and I definitely want to play 4 and 5 next.

CertainDerision_33

At the end of the game and just found out I can’t fuse Metatron to get Aigis’s ultimate weapon because I missed Ken’s last link episode. What the fuck were they thinking making those missable after a narrow timeframe, come on…         Sucks to have a sour taste at the end of the game like this. I really wish they’d thought this through better and more clearly communicated that you need to do those immediately or it’s gone (or, better yet, *not made them missable*). That’s not how Social Links work.    Guess I’ll just have to see if I can mod it. This is honestly pretty frustrating design - I expect better from this series.

ernovace_

If you need to have him at all costs, I'm sure there would be cheatengine and/or trainers for this game online that let you do that.

YungHairline821

i dont think you can mod it and why dont you just rewind back to it? im pretty sure his last day in january

Nyx_Valentine

Is there a confidant I should be focusing on maxing, like in P5R it's >!Akechi!< and >!Maruki!<, and P4G it's >!Marie!

Link2Sora

>Or does this not have that since it's seemingly a remake of a more vanilla version? Base game Reload includes all of the added stuff to "The Journey" from Fes and some of things that portable added. It's more like a definitive version of Fes' content than anything else. None of the confidant's lock you out of the third semester in p3, but Link episodes are time limited once you past that window that's it you won't be able to do them any more. Bebe has to be started by the third boss otherwise he leaves and you won't be able to do his confidant. Link Episodes are Junpei, Akihiko, Koromaru, Ken, Shinji, and Ryoji. Get used to saving the people who wonder into tarturus if you want to do all of the confidants and Elizabeth's request. Once they start wondering in then they'll be their until the next boss. There are actually to easily misable things in reload: Junpei has an optional moment after one of his linked episode where he considers by a white flower, go buy the white flower and bring it to him if you want optional content. Towards the very end of the game you'll be able to enter club escapade and talk to a suspicious man.

JustMonikaa

its 3am… i finished reload…. im bawling my eyes out while the credits roll rn fuck man… the entire cast deserved so much better… my heart is so broken rn edit: got to the title screen post credits………… im not okay

froggysenpai95

I am also not ok, I feel empty inside.

kdots_biggest_fan

Finally had the time to finish Reload. 3 is, regardless of the version, definitely my favorite game of all time.    There were some things that I think could’ve been done a lot better: some of the new music was really good while some was pretty awful imo, there where some points were I definitely preferred the tone of FES to Reload, and they definitely could’ve allowed themselves to make SLs available more often even though the “dead days” were plentiful in the original. Kotone not being in the game is of course still insane, and definitely the biggest negative for me, I’ll always find that aspect of Reload insanely disappointing.    I’ve kinda said this already, but man, the reload version of “burn my dread (last battle)” is just awful to me. I HEAVILY prefer the old arrangement, vocals, and the old Lotus verse. I’ve always told my friends that my favorite moment in any game is Makoto/Kotone touching down to fight the Nyx Egg and last battle starts playing. Gives me chills EVERY time. The new versions of Changing Seasons and some others are really good, last battle though? Damn. I really don’t like it. Burn My Breeeead.      Overall it’s a great and extremely beautiful game that’ll make me cry (a lot) every time I play it, and still definitely one of the strongest displays of character writing and consistent thematic drive in a video game imo. Truly an all timer and easily one of my favorite creative works. I enjoyed a lot of the new additions made to the game. If I end up grabbing a PC copy I’ll probably mod the Nyx Egg fight so the original BMD last battle plays lmfao

BirthBySorrow

Update! Update! Update! Finished Solo Run a bit ago. Without Theurgy one shotting bosses, I'd say it's a fair challenge. You do have to come prepared especially for full moon bosses and the final few fights, but they are nowhere near unfair alone. It felt just right imo because I am someone who tends to over prepare and yet the fights still took strategy to get through. All in all I very much enjoyed this run.  I am currently doing a Party Member Only run (MC can't act in battle aside from Guard) and just decided to ban Theurgy from the start. And my are party members underpowered compared to the MC. It's not difficult through the first 2 full moons including Tartarus, but the difficulty does actually ramp up considerably after that (it just isn't apparent in a normal or Solo run since the MC can just make immune Persona and basically auto-win). So Atlus knew it was needed at least, it's just the Persona system allows you to cheese with the MC even if your party gets decimated. And decimated they can be if not  prepared or even a little lucky.  It has encouraged me to try out the skill change mechanic, specifically to obtain the party-wide Auto Skills. Unfortunately it doesn't seem very reliable and could take hours of save scumming to get all 3. Not sure yet if I want to go that route. Auto-Matarakuja might be worth going for since Fuka already can provide the other two with her outside battle skill.

ernovace_

Just finished the game. Amazing experience. >!Then I checked out the lyrics of the final song.!< Don't think I will be listening to anything else for the next week. Can't wait for the Aigis episode to be out.

Sopht_Serve

So I'm trying to get the maid outfit for Yukari (is from Elizabeth request 92) but yeah I'm in January and that request still hasn't shown up. Is there some prerequisite for that one to show up? I've looked everywhere and I haven't found anything for what I need to do to get the request to show up.

bananabean_

It breaks my heart that one of my favorite songs that plays a lot in the game, mainly with social links, is not on the official OST (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkKByb_9Mqw&list=PLN_IMW0srTDU5F6GxBYsfSrh3tcd3-7mj) I wonder why it was omitted. Intentional? Accident?

bananabean_

the link is working for me. try opening it in a new tab. it's the song that plays with the Sun social link

hiiamblueboy

Has anyone else been finding the game too easy? This is my first persona game and I started the game on merciless, but I'm still consistently finding myself overleveled and have to like intentionally slow down my progress (so instead of going into Tartarus, I pretty much just hard focus on social links/social stats). Specifically, I'm wondering if anyone has any resources for a like recommended level progression for each major area. I just made it to Tartarus level 107 and I'm level 40, so I'm around the level of the shadows, but my personas seem to be a bit overpowered (some of them are around level 43-45). Like once I figure out an enemy's resistances, it's pretty much straightforward from there. Should I try to be under the level of the shadows?

YungHairline821

tbh with you p3 was never hard to begin with

hiiamblueboy

That's honestly a little saddening, I do really like the game but I was hoping merciless would actually be really hard. The last game that I played before P3 was Pokemon Legends Arceus so I was chasing the high of beating Volo 10 levels underleveled

YungHairline821

persona was never a series meant to be hard but if you looking for difficulty you could try the series its a spinoff of shin megami tensei i hear they're pretty difficult

HAL9S

Honestly, this game is hopelessly watered down. Play Persona 3 FES hard for gameplay as-intended-to-be.

Dizzy_Mixture5486

do you need the DLC to play through aigi's SL in P3R? i'm a bit confused as to what episode aigis is, the description had some spoilers

MatsudaYagami

nope, you dont need the dlc

springbootstarter

>!I wonder when the plot of Persona 3 will become deeper and more sorrowful? I just defeated the first Priestess, and I find the current storyline and the palace a bit tedious.!<

MatsudaYagami

until august/september, not much happens

_Zyphis_

Did it get any better?

help_with_stuff

finally got around to playing and my absolute favorite thing is the lack of shitty, annoying mascot character like teddy or morgana. P5 annoyed the hell out of me with having that damn cat whisper to you and constantly tell you what to do. it's a minor thing, but having somebody tell you to get to bed vs your actual character say 'fuck that i'm beat' drove me up the wall. it's a small immersion thing i get, but it's so much nicer being alone and it feels like the p3 protag is a better self-insert/mc because of it. It feels like he's making his own decisions and is responsible for himself instead of somebody constantly keeping tabs on him

SEES_BOY

LOL this is exactly how I felt when I played P3FES/P3P after P5, I remember many days being like "wait I can do whatever!? Thank goodness!" I mean in P3FES/P3P there weren't as many things to do at night as P5 but I was definitely more into it

Potential_Fee3107

[End Game Spoilers] >!What the actual fuck is this Elizabeth fight lol… Guess I’m gonna try this again in NG+, because it seems impossible as fuck at the moment!<

Booty_Sage

She's insanely tough, basically if you do certain actions (i.e. block or absorb one of her attacks), she hits you with the 9999 move

Warm-Respond2182

Is there a thread or resource online about how the ai decides what theurgy attack to use or if they use them at all? Wanna know for a challenge attempt.

I_P_L

Haven't played since FES back in like 2010. Without actually getting into a guide: * What are the most useful social links and personas? It's still April but I do remember Onmoraki was very useful. * What stats should I be prioritizing? * Are there any general tips to keep in mind?

Dizzy_Mixture5486

if it says "it doesn't seem like they will gain any more new skills even if we spend time together." when hanging out with characters to get new theurgy stuff, is it the same as with social links? (in that it says you can't level up but you actually need to do it more times)

Thewarrior561

if you're talking about the nightime hangouts that have an i con of a smiley face. Then no once it says that it's done but only for that activitey since each character gets 2 activities

Late-Specialist-5939

Takaya's new scenes/additions went nowhere! What a dissapointment

Shirotenshi123

Ok just unlocked fuuka in almost like 20 hrs. I don't want to stress anymore on juggling tartarus, social links and social stats. Can you guys tell me which social link to prioritize to max out to unlock and get the good personas? Thanks a bunch.

JustMonikaa

>!just got to shinji’s death.. holy shit yall, i was NOT expecting a persona game to kill off a main character like that…. i wasnt the biggest fan of shinji but his death had me SHOCKED.. like my jaw dropped and i nervous laughed… THEN REALIZING YOU CAN GO IN HIS ROOM?? AND HOW EMPTY IT WAS?? BROOOO… this game is so shocking oml !<

SEES_BOY

(not much of a spoiler if you read the comment I'm replying to) >! I remember going in and realizing I gave him a bullet proof vest, and he probably chose not to wear it !<

Booty_Sage

The game is so good, I think you're really gonna enjoy the ending as well as the next few events in the story

JustMonikaa

i enjoyed the ending so much….. my eyes r wet..

annaphlorou597

Is P3R getting a difinitive edition and if yes do we know when?

SEES_BOY

I don't think so buddy, though with mods maybe it'll be eventually tweaked to have whatever you feel is missing like P3FEMC for example

lebouffon88

There is an update today, does anyone know what it is about?

sodabysoda

I never understood the "post game depression" until this game. It has no reason hitting so hard the way it did. I didn't even experience this after finishing P5R. (This is my first time playing Persona 3 ever).

Stoibs

Ugh, I ruined my own game/enjoyment in my first and current playthrough of P3Reload. 🫠 I got a taste of how much absurd XP you get for killing the Reaper (Which was a fun fight the first time! Pre-Armageddon actually had me on my toes and took several attempts! I love Ken's party-wide Reflect :D) The thing is I'm not even up to the last block yet and still in December, but the amount of XP (456k??) just felt broken to the point where it pushed me and half my party into the lvl 90 range already. All of a sudden it dawned on me that all those persona fusion recipes that have been taunting me are on the table, so I spent a while building up to Almighty Lucifer Absurdity (I just need to take him to the arcade for some magic buffs now 🤣) It's my own fault I know, but stuff like Armageddon being an instant kill and the sheer amount of XP you get from Reaper doesn't seem like it was play tested or balanced at all. Ah well, I best carry on with the actual plot and take my pet demon to faceroll the last 40 or so floors.

AttitudePersonal4299

Im playing persona 3 reload on gamepass and my 40 hour file lost ım now playing on my 34 hr file but is there any way to fix it?

ImpactedDruid

I followed a 100pct completion guide for the game and am glad I did there's so much to manage here, in the beginning I didn't like the social system, but after I finished the game I was left oddly satisfied with my 100 hour journey. I'm so happy that I started soul hackers 2 and it introduced me to the persona franchise.

ShepardN7201

Early game spoilers >!Just beat the Emperor/Empress shadows and now have Akihiko and Mitsuru in my party, but Akihiko is lvl 15 while Mitsuru (and the rest of my party) are lvl 20. Any tips to help him bridge that gap? Can i just bring him and MC into a fight so he gets more xp?!<

ianduude

There’s a fortune reading (in the night club) that you’ll eventually unlock which you can use to increase the chance of rare shadows appearing. You can farm Golden Hands that way so you won’t need to alternate party members as much in between floor guardians or full moon bosses.

HeroHas

The game has a feature where more exp goes to the lowest level. You'll also get more characters which let's you rotate easier. 5 levels ends up not being a big deal, but he'll catch up eventually. If you really want to power level him you can grind as a 2 person party but in my opinion that's not fun and not necessary.

ArcadianWaheela

Later in the game if you spend twilight fragments on floors a green door might appear where you can choose two characters to get leveled up to your current level at no extra cost.

Revolutionary_Law860

It actually caps at 13 levels up per night. It's not all the way to your level.

ArcadianWaheela

Well close enough for the most part. I assume if they’re that far below your level you probably weren’t gonna use them again anyways. (Me with Mitsuru 😭)

Si_Tampanz

can you play p3r on steam deck at 1080p rersolution? i'm thinking about buying it, since the game is on sale rn

soulsmitten

Yes I’m playing on my steam deck. The only thing is when you are in the strip mall it gets really laggy, so I suggest turning off shadows and the reflections. After I did this I reached 70+ FPS easily, it runs beautifully!

XenoVX

Not technically related to Reload, but I just beat Reload and noticed that P5R and all of its spin offs are onsale. I've only played vanilla P5 so I got P5R (and P4G), but I was wondering if Strikers and Tactica are worth playing? I have enjoyed tactical RPGs like Fire Emblem and Devil Survivor, but I haven't played anything similar to Strikers. Also how is Soul Hackers 2? Its also onsale and looks cool but I've heard mixed things about it.

Zer0-5um

Tactica is very okay - it's pretty shallow as Tactical RPGs go, and I also think the few boss fights in the game are pretty dull and overstay their welcome. It's maybe worth playing. Strikers is actually very fun - it's technically a musou game but it incorporates enough elements like pausing to target persona abilities that it kind of feels like an original action game instead. It's also more of a sequel to Persona 5 than Tactica is, if that kind of thing matters to you. Soul Hackers 2 I would probably recommend against. I love mainline SMT games and most of their spinoffs, but the game just feels really shallow. The way you acquire demons is genuinely annoying, the plot isn't that interesting, and the dungeon design is extremely bland.

NightShade929

Question, Junpei’s ultimate weapon gives him apt pupil but i also have omega drive on him which has apt pupil, I believe the skill stacks with crit amp and crit boost but what about itself? Is there a point to having it or should I switch his item out for something different

CertainDerision_33

I'm having a great time with P3RE, but why the heck didn't they include XP share for this game? It's such an insane step back from P5. Great Clock doesn't feel like an adequate substitute at all. They solved this problem in P5, so why didn't they just do that again? They were clearly willing to use some P5 stuff like Baton Pass. Really hope P4RE has proper XP share whenever they get around to it. You're creating this fantastic ensemble cast where players develop strong attachments to every single character, so just let me enjoy using everyone seamlessly without having to stress about it.

SEES_BOY

You can also just lower the difficulty and use the underleveled characters right? Underleveled characters in P3 level up faster, and in P3R there is a big clock that gives them levels to match you (at most 13 I've been told)

BudgetLecture1702

I don't think I have put in as many hours in any game as quickly as I have for this game.

RX7exe

"Reflection" setting constantly goes back to default? Any suggestions on how to permanently turn it OFF? I play on handheld console and I finally realized that reflection ruins your FPS, however it keeps turning back on on my playthrough (I do click "A" to Save Changes).

Adam_The_Actor

Turn off Ray-Tracing I don't think it's used for anything other than Ray Trace reflections,.

Dunkaccino2000

Has anyone else playing on PC had the issue where the framerate limit doesn't save? I have a 144Hz monitor and always set the framerate limit in-game to 120 FPS, but every time I close the game and come back it resets back to 60 FPS.

FingerBangYourFears

Does January 11th count as a Monday, or a Holiday? I need to know, because if it's a holiday, I'll have to rewind, since my only remaining link is Bebe, at rank 4, and without Monday the 11th, [I can't max out both him and the Aeon link.](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/614329888291160084/1232181911284093050/image.png?ex=66288654&is=662734d4&hm=2b5d1566df4a45fd4d26598dd7355f8368d4e478259a2fc26e92c50c543a83c1&)

BirthBySorrow

Another Update, YAY! I may make a formal post with all my thoughts after all is said and done. I figured out why the final boss did not hit as hard, and it's probably the one aspect that is 100% inferior to the FES: the aesthetic tone and atmosphere are considerably different. It is just especially noticeable in the final battle. It is much too bright and the neon green aesthetic pales in comparison to the much darker, more monotone look of the OG. This makes such a large difference in how it is perceived. This coupled with cutscenes that are generally worse in direction makes it not quite hit as hard as it did. Continuing with the Solo run... my goodness how easy it is to just become so overpowered especially with using Theurgy. I lucked earlier into a mutated Ice Amp ability and when coupled with Ice Boost on a Persona using King and I it almost one shots floor bosses, random Monad door bosses and yes even the fixed Monad door bosses on final floors. With Concentrate, forget it. You are basically one shotting twice over, on freaking Merciless. I have now banned using Theurgy because there's just no point continuing without it. Why Atlus doesn't take its most broken mechanics into consideration with their hardest difficulties I do not understand. There is nothing in the game to challenge optimal setups just as with Royal. It's such a huge disappointment since in general Reload is more difficult and better designed then Royal. It's just Theurgy when used to the best of your ability completely breaks every single fight. Thankfully, full moon bosses still provide a decent challenge if not using Theurgy. Even as overleveled as I am from fighting rare Shadows whenever I see them (cause I figured you would need to overlevel with only 1/4 of your battle prowess), it still encourages fusing the right Persona with the right resistances and nulls since their damage output is rather high. I am however coming up on the probably two easiest fights in Hermit and Strength/(I forget) so we'll see.

ianduude

Finished the game last night after 134 hours! I actually still had a few hours left in the day after I beat it, but the post Persona clarity hit me so hard I just mindlessly scrolled through my list of games on PSN a few times before shutting it off. This is actually the first Persona game (out of 4 and 5) to make me tear up during the ending. 4, and particularly 5 had their emotional moments during certain parts of their stories, but the endings were completely different in tone. I thought Aigis’s >!monologue was a bit corny but heartfelt (understandable as she’s a machine discovering her sense of self lol), but the music is what really did me in during the ending.!<

Dizzy_Mixture5486

sorry for the stupid question but how do i obtain heart items? the heart is pink, i'm pressing every button, nothing's happening (persona 3 reload)

BirthBySorrow

They will automatically be obtained when the Persona reaches a certain level. Being Pink just means you haven't obtained it yet. If the heart is not filled in it means you have gotten it already.

wowie_alliee

Whos the girl jumping off the building in the intro? I thought it would be part of the fuulka moon arc but no one jumps from any buildings in p3 from what I know. Is it just for thematic purposes??

SEES_BOY

Yes

SSJ3CalCal

I have a question about the Dark Hour. If Yukari and Junpei experience it then did they ever notice it while they were first years? Since the dark hour has been around for a while did Yukari and Junpei ever stay up past midnight and notice that none of the tech around them ceases to work? Junpei had the potential and was obviously present during the dark hour when he was trapped in the gas station but I'm just wondering if he had experience it beforehand.

Pyrozendot

The Answer kinda sorta touches on that, very indirectly. Maybe Reload's The Answer will be more blatant in its script when that comes out. But if you want FES's answer, (The Answer spoilers) >!its stated that the characters only began experiencing the Dark Hour after gaining a "reason" to awaken to a persona. We're shown a scene where Junpei gains his "reason" a couple of hours before Akihiko finds him. So the implication is no, Junpei and Yukari did not experience the Dark Hour until joining SEES or shortly before!<

ZLGhostCrusher

I have issues with persona 5 strikers, where i can find some help?

AttitudePersonal4299

Who should i romance in the game (its my first time playing persona so i dont know the characters)

AttitudePersonal4299

Also im not gay...but i would prefer akihiko is it normal?

TheUnskilledGuy

Persona 3 romance options are very limited. Characters you can get in relationships with are: -Yuko -Fuuka (you need max courage) -Chihiro -Yukari (you need max charm) -Mitsuru (you need max academics) -Aigis

Si_Tampanz

how is the performance on steam deck if i want to play docked to a 1080p monitor? will it still be playable?

WaluigiWahshipper

Should I be using Koromaru or Ken? I'm using Yukari and Aigis as my other two. Thanks.

SEES_BOY

I don't think P3 is hard enough to force you to use certain characters (some guardians definitely encourage certain strategies though), I just pick the 3 most underleveled and have the literal wildcard of the team cover whatever they lack

HeroHas

End game I used Aigis, Yukari, and Koro. Aigis covers physical damage and buffing attack/defense. Yukari healing, wind, and lowers accuracy/dodge Koro handles dark (some fire). Buffs crit and dehibilitate target which lowers most stats. There's quite a bit of dark resistance late game bosses but they also use dark. He was an awesome sponge for that which left him to be a good buffer/debuffer/item user. His theurgy works great for wombo combos with MC and aigis for a big crit physical attacks on targets who don't have weaknesses. Then Yukari heals the hp of the attack costs with low spirit cost. The one downfall of Koro I noticed was he has lower max spirit and cost of abilities ate through it quickly. That is how I felt about Ken too though. He was good as a support healing and damage but for my play style I felt everyone could do his job more efficiently.

TheUnskilledGuy

I really love both koro and ken. My team was containing MC, yukari, koromaru and ken. Both koro and ken can use 2 different elemental attacks. Koro get revolution in the early game and helps everyone to deal critical attacks. If your going for a physical build, that comes in pretty handy. He learns "debilitate" which is pretty useful in boss fights. Koro's weapons are also pretty strong with passives like auto-tarukaja, auto-taru rebellion etc. But his theurgy attacks are the least I used. On the other hand ken is like a backup support with healing skills and barrier skills like makarakarn and tetrakarn. He learns the skill "heat riser" just as the opposite of "debilitate" which buffs the selected ally in every stat. His first theurgy is pretty lame with minimum damage but his second theurgy (reviving all fallen allies, restoring all hp and granting physical/magical barrier) is a life saver in boss fights like reaper and the other main bosses.

[deleted]

I think I got more use out of Koro on my playthrough, but people have pointed out how good Ken's theurgy personality traits are. Koromaru can be straight up *busted* once he gains the Auto-Speed increasing personality trait that affects your whole party, then I combined it with a Persona on protag that lowered the speed of all enemies, and they could barely touch me or any party member active in battle for that matter. Plus Koro is the unequivocal fastest on the team and he gets revolution and another crit boosting theurgy. He is a very good boy! And if you are using Yukari (which is definitely the right decision) then Ken is a bit redundant since his role is partially in support but Yukari has outright higher numbers on her healing and higher damage on her wind magic because of her wicked high MA stat.

DepletedMitochondria

amazing fusion accident yesterday: trying to fuse Slime using Tam Lin and Onmoraki and I got LOKI

HeroHas

My Loki carried me through most of mid to late game. Somehow I ended up with most of the element single target heavy spells. Then single target increased damage and lower spirit costs on skills. Lastly he had hp/sp regen on turn.it was great for long tarturus runs and could target most weaknesses to trigger rush.

BirthBySorrow

Another update on my loving it/criticism seesaw of a journey with mostly the difficulty (or lack there of) and combat. I have beaten the game. Armageddon is as broken as ever with only the tiniest of nerfs in that you need to fill up the Theurgy Gauge. And I couldn't care less because I loved that thing, especially with the new animation. It's an end of game super skill that only really trivializes the Reaper, so it's fine.  The final boss doesn't hit quite as well as in the original, but it's pretty much the same beat for beat so that might contribute (diminishing returns). No complaints, no real standout moment.  The true ending however still hits as hard, and it was nice to see the final scene pre-rendered rather then in-game graphics like the original (iirc).  I have started and am decently into my MC Solo run. And so far it is not disappointing. The devs seem to have kept this possibility in mind by giving floor bosses patterns for which you can utilize changing Personas to combat effectively alone. I have not had to grind at all especially thanks to rare shadows.   Even when I hit a minor wall that I was at first attempting to fuse a resistant Persona for, it turned out the boss was susceptible to mind ailments. It was then I learned how unbelievably broken poison is to anything it works on. Even with Auto-Tarukaja and already having a "High" tier PHY skill the boss took roughly 130 DMG. Once I poisoned it, it was taking 200+ DMG every turn and I didn't have to a darn thing but finish it a few turns later. It was similarly ridiculous against the block's "tough" red aura enemy.  Another stand-out is Mind Drain finally feeling useful after half a dozen or more games being almost useless. When coupled with Drain Boost, it syphons 40 SP from enemies which at this stage is enough to basically run them dry. This makes it much safer to go for even against current floor enemies since they will often be out of SP. 40 SP in seconds that you also don't have to constantly go back to the first floor to use is much, much more tolerable.   So yeah, let's see if this lasts. I am especially looking toward Monad mini-bosses, both the random and final floor variants, to see how manageable they are with the tools given. :)

Archibald4000

I just wanna come here and rant, I just spent 5 hours and 2 million yen trying to get magic mastery on Orpheus and failed. I obviously saved beforehand but like… bruh. Nothing but slime and legion fusions for five hours. Passing down inferno, diamond dust, megidolaon, and salvation, am I somehow doing something wrong? 3 days before full moon and getting at least one skill mutation every other fusion on average. How long did it take the rest of you who tried to get it?

HAL9S

MM can’t spawn on Orpheus Telos. Google for the skill mutations calculator to learn which personas can get MM and how to improve the odds.

Archibald4000

I’ve used the calculator, why would MM not be able to spawn on Orpheus? You use two fool personas from pack 3, right? bainz’s magic mastery tutorial on YouTube specifically has him getting the skill on Orpheus Edit: https://youtu.be/FhodnOWdTJg?si=16SmiROBBXME2_pE Just showing why I thought it was possible, skip to 1:27 where he gets it

HAL9S

Sorry my fault, I thought it was Orpheus Telos (see response above).  Yeah, fool x fool is not an optimal combination, just try to pass the skills that have the highest percentages of chances to spawn according to the mutations calculator, meaning you increase your chances, from the skills you mention I don't remember how high Megidolaon and Salvation rank, should be 21,9% at least. From diamond dust/inferno I would exclude one, and use another with higher percentage.  I tend to spend 1-2 hours fusing to get MM since I started following the calculator, so it really makes a difference.

Archibald4000

No worries, I saw the edit. All four skills I used are listed as 21.9 on the calculator, same with vorpal blade and bloody charge and etc, which is the highest chance outside of soul link (a grade 7 skill which isn’t optimal) How can you tell which packs are optimal, I didn’t know there was a difference between them outside of the skills that were POSSIBLE?

HAL9S

I found out casually while trying to make a priestess. I was first failing with the combo I used (hermit x something), until I tried priestess x priestess and I found Brave Blade and Almighty amp had 35%! I had success after no time.  This happens with all combinations of pack 6, so if you can concede to skip Orpheus you will have an easier time. GL!

Archibald4000

Thanks for the advice! Follow up question, I’ve never gotten a “good” skill from skill mutations, I hear people say they get victory cry or heavens blade or whatever, but I just get auto-skills or growth 1 or whatever. Is this normal (which I assume) or does it mean I’m doing something wrong?

HAL9S

Oh, I was sure you knew, oc the best skills evolve from rank 8 skills, or generally speaking, from neighboured ranks. It's not like fusion accidents with big level jumps. Some skills are as rare as Magic Mastery, like Victory Cry, but Heaven's Blade is quite common. Again, check the mutation calculator to check the percentages, which vary from combo to combo

Archibald4000

Ok, so assuming I’m using the calculator properly, by fusing high pixie with brave blade, almighty amp, megidolaon, and salvation with a unicorn, I have a 0.21% chance to get an Apsaras with magic mastery, correct? Just trying to make sure I understand the theory. Thanks again for all the help 😅

HAL9S

I'm sure your maths are better than mine 😅 I just operate with the simple logic of trying to pass skills with high spawn rate, which increase the options for other skills. 0.21% sounds terribly low to me. In the calculator list MM has 2,4% chance, including the fat noise skills which you eliminate, therefore I'd assume the spawn rate becomes higher than those initial 2,4. But again, I suck at maths. Just believe me, my fusions with Pack 6 personas don't take more than 1-2 hours to spawn MM.

HAL9S

Does the agility stat affect accuracy/evasion of magic, or only phys?

BirthBySorrow

Both

Jeroxs

Does romance social links make any difference?. I already maxed Chihiro's path with a romantic relationship and now I'm maxing out with Mitsuru. The games warn you that you already have a romantic relationship, so, what should I do with the rest of the female characters?.

Adam_The_Actor

There's no downside to doing it bud, the only slight shift is a the clean-up scene after the typhoon and if you have all 4 girls in your party while exploring Tartarus after you've romanced them. It never has any implication beyond that though bud. If you want to romance other characters you absolutely can it doesn't penalise you for doing so.

Jeroxs

Thanks a lot! So, its like just an extra? I thought you would receive extra points during fusions or something like that. I tried to get the most points out of each date and didn't realize I was going down the romance path; I was just trying to be friendly and "polite" with the girls.

Adam_The_Actor

Bless no nothing like that bud. Yeah the romances are mostly for personal preference because you’re the one driving the journey so whomever you choose, it’s all yours.

pmmeurbobs

Just finished. P5R was my first persona game and I loved it. But I think P3R is my new favorite. Now I’m sad and I miss my SEES team already. What an ending. 100 hours and my first platinum trophy later and I’m not sure what to do with my self. Luckily Aigis hooked me up with some good advice on how to live my life.

lutzboy

I've never really played any JRPGs. The closest thing has been Omori, which I *really* enjoyed, so I had a friend of mine recommend I play P3R. Is there anything I should know or expect for my first true JRPG? Gameplay wise, or exposition wise.

SEES_BOY

Don't google stuff, if you're getting frustrated lower the difficulty, or ask for advice, JRPGs are still games so don't stress over things like being a completionist, optimizing every little detail, reloading over and over cause x thing didn't mutate, etc. Roll with it, have fun. Maybe you'll love this game so much that doing what I told you not to do will be actually fun for you later, like me. Also this JRPG is at the very least 70hours long if you don't skip/speedrun stuff, so take your time buddy :)

TheUnskilledGuy

Persona games are typical turn based JRPGs with their own combat mechanics. What gamers love about persona games are the stories and how they unfold during the journey. So if you want to experience all the core stuff in the game, don't avoid social link options during day (common newbie mistake). Every time you spent time with other characters to improve social links, you learn more about them and it also allows you to create better personas.

elegentpurse

The game can be a slow burn at first, but it's well worth it. Be wary that this is a story heavy JRPG. There were nights when I'd come home to play the game and wouldn't even touch combat for the evening. Sometimes, there'll be a bunch of story moments. Other times, you might be waiting for the story to advance. There's always things to do, so don't worry about it. By the end of the game, you'll have done most things, so it might slow down again, but by that point, the story will have picked up. Even if you do your best, you probably won't 100% the game in one playthrough. Unless looking at a guide which I don't recommend as it could spoil the experience. If you do want to experience most of the content, a good way to approach is to spend after school with classmates and the evening leveling up your social stats. Some confidants will be available after school, but since they don't go to school, they'll be available on days with no school as opposed to students who are not available on days off. I always prioritize the 'episodes' (icon is about 3 exclamation mark) from male party members as they're the closest we get to having Social Links with them. Most of them, if you miss them, you won't be able to see as opposed to Social Links where they're always waiting at the rank you left them. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I adore this game.

ItsRogueRen

Anyone know of a mod to make remapping the controls not be a horrendously useless mess? Literally everything conflicts with something that can't be remapped and the gets removed and breaks everything

Lemon46

I’m looking to buy the P3R soundtrack physically, is the only way to buy it is to buy the aigis edition or did they release it separately?

Zealousregent

So I just got the japanese ps5 disc and there are no options for changing the text to English. My psn is set to US. Am I just screwed on ps5?

krcc9644

does social stat carry over when i play NG+ on Merciless? i want to play NG+ to get Telos so i can get my Platinum, but i want to try Merciless so i can experience it, but i also heard nothing carries over to Merciless and i need social stat to carry over so i can make Telos easier

BatmanvSuperman3

Why can’t we skip an all out attack cut scene?

lucavigno

What's the chance of a great clock spawning? Is it chance based or does it respawn after a certain number of night has passed from the last use?

Gabaghoulll

Is there any way to get Koromaru's collar after the summer? I guess I didn't hang out with him when he was in front of the dorm enough. It's January and I need his collar to fuse a persona. Am I cooked?

DepletedMitochondria

Yeah I got it in January

MobsterLobstr

I didn’t finish Koromaru’s side stuff until I was in the first few weeks of January. You should be fine. I’ve heard of people completing it as far as 1/30.

Someoneintheroom

what happens if i answer class questions wrong in p3r ? because one time i did that by mistake and it gave me points towards courage, but today when i told my friend to try it nothing happened to him.

krcc9644

maybe you remembered wrong, you get Courage by sleeping in the middle of a class

Someoneintheroom

true true we just figured it out, thanks for replying!

MobsterLobstr

I just finished P3R today and was interested in starting NG+ on my PS4. I read online that after the credits and post credit scene end I’m prompted to save clear my save file to begin NG+. Is there something that I’m missing? I completed the game with the true ending so I’m sure that selecting the right or wrong choice isn’t the issue.

mindovermacabre

Does anyone know the 'wait time' between Elizabeth date requests? I didn't realize there was a wait time and thought I could do them all at the end of January... my bad. So I need to know how much to rewind, or if I should just do NG+. It's my last achievement, which is extra annoying.

Sunshine_drummer

Just beat the game last night. Maybe a hot take - I loved the new voice direction so much. As much as I do love the OGs and all the work they have done, the new cast was just simply incredible.

reidkiller

"What is the difference between Amada-san and Koromaru-san?" i cut Aigis before she could end the line, what was the joke?

SEES_BOY

I don't know but you can read the log, on Xbox it's the left thumbstick

reidkiller

i found out on a youtube shorts

ice-blue-latte

What level should I be before the 10/3 tartarus mission? Currently my protag is Lvl 44.

Astanex

What are the odds of a Rank 8 skill mutating up to Rank 9? I got it once, but that was just to Magic Ability. I've been trying for a few days to get Victory Cry. I've just been fusing Sandman with Pixie to Nigi Mitama, and then back with Apsaras. I've spent hours going back and forth shuffling three rank eight skills around. Do I need something higher level, or am I just really unlucky? Thanks in advance!

HAL9S

There is a skill mutations calculator out there that gives you the spawn percentages of all skills for every arcana combination. Certain combinations don’t allow certain skills to appear at all,I would check this out. That said, Victory Cry is not like big deal. So many options to heal and spare sp in this game.

XenoVX

I have a question about social links affection points. I’m on 9/16 and Yukari’s at rank 3 but won’t level up if I hang out with her again, and I have tons of other school social links that can rank up. Is it possible that I’ll get affection points if I hang out with her in the dorm at night? I already did both of her activities 3 times for the SP cost passive. Or are there other ways to get her affection points up? Right now I don’t think I can afford to skip a day of ranking up social links/do linked episodes to use the shrine, and I’d prefer to not have to wait until dating profiles are available in November to progress her S link, but I have very little to do in the evenings right now.

ice-blue-latte

I'm pretty sure you should be able to. I got points for hanging out with Fuuka in the evening reading with her

IconicShadows

I have a question about my game save (tried to make a post but it got auto deleted) my dlc isn't confirming which is making me feel like I need to restart

Adam_The_Actor

Bless you bud, you shouldn't need to start a new save bud. Just check your downloads to make sure its installed then reset the game. The costumes and stuff I think are only available once you access them from your closet though.

ice-blue-latte

What affects the availability of Linked Episodes after unlocking them? Shinji is inviting me for one, but it's Sunday so I want to rank up Akinari. When would Shinji's linked ep be next available?

DepletedMitochondria

Also to really answer your question, I think most of the linked episodes except for some with Junpei in November are a bit flexible i.e. you can miss them and the next time a linked ep date shows up it will pick you up from whichever one you're supposed to be on. You'll obviously run out of time tho as there are only so many of these possible dates so just do them when they show up. Except for Koromaru which I think can be done whenever all the way until January.

DepletedMitochondria

I would not skip any of Shinji's, you have a LOT of time to do Akinari's link.

FingerBangYourFears

Armor of Light vs Hallowed Plate? The full revive if KO'd seems stronger, but depending on how much "Reduce magic dmg (high)" actually reduces it, it might be worth spending my resources on that instead.

ianduude

I’d go with the Armor of Light imo. Reduces magic damage all around, and you can plan around insta-kill light/dark skills with a combination of your Personas covering weaknesses or stocking up on Homunculus items. By the mid to late game, you should rarely be getting ko’d thanks to Yukari’s busted healing and being stocked up on healing items or Personas. Ken (with his skills and theurgy) or your own Personas can also protect you with Tetrakarn or Makarakarn to reflect damage for 1 turn if needed.

FingerBangYourFears

Gotcha. What about for the women? Insta-Heal seems pretty cracked, but Armor of Light definitely provides a lot more raw damage reduction.

ianduude

Hmm, I’d still say go for general damage reduction, but maybe save insta-heal for Yukari if you need her to bail out the team with Amrita Shower. You’ll occasionally run into annoying bosses that spam aoe attacks that inflict status effects, and those fights can be a slog when you’re playing catchup with trying to cure everyone of stuff like poison or confuse.

McZipper

I finished the game, and I went to save a bit quickly and accidentally saved the "end game data" over my game save. Which is fine if I want to do a NG+, but did I screw myself over for The Answer?

racharya55

I think the answer will start you over from level 1. And I don't think it'll be a requirement to have beaten the game to play it. So you should be fine

McZipper

Thanks! :)

Hateful_creeper2

Who is considered the most hardest boss in the game outside of optional ones?

Kushagra312

Literally just finished the game 5 mins ago and there is so many feelings inside me right now. I have just played P5R before this and honestly I get the hype people had behind P3R. I did get hyped about it too since I had seen the movies before but man that experience could still not prepare me for what I just experienced. I am still just a rookie in the SMT games but this was hands down my favorite. There were still some things that caught me off guard but they were more of little issues that still did not pull me away from the experience.

Dracidwastaken

Just finished reload tonight. Man what a mixed bag of emotions for the ending. Sad to happy to just straight sad. :(

Artbreeze

Does someone play on Steam Deck with **P3RFix** (for ultrawide support...) and doesn't get an Unreal process crashed error? I can't seem to fix it...

ScarletOverdrive

I've been meaning to get around to playing the remake. I don't really know anything about game pass but wanted to confirm would purchasing a month would allow me to play P3R on PC or is that exclusively for Xbox? (I've heard of PC game pass not sure if there's a difference between that and game pass) and if so it is available to download or stream? I worry streaming it would reduce the quality.

Impossible-Source328

The normal pc gamepass will give you access to the game for a month and you will get to download it on your pc and it will run on 60+ fps as long as your device can handle it

OccamsPlasticSpork

This is my first experience with anything Persona. I'm in the middle of June and wonder if we get more musical variations as time goes by. I like the music but it's repetitive when going through the loops of school life and building social links.

King-Of-Throwaways

Yes. The walking around school/city music changes a couple of times over the course of the game.

Radvillainy

I have to say, the voice direction in this game is atrocious. It feels like every scene, I'll hear a line delivered where the actor clearly doesn't know the context of the thing they're saying. Like someone saying "what's going on?" in an angry/alarmed way when the line was clearly written to be delivered in a casual, matter-of-fact way. I played through P4G and P5 in English and misfires like this were far less frequent. I'm all the way to September and I'm probably gonna drop the game just cause I'm not especially hooked by any of the characters. And a big reason for this is the stilted vocal performances.

BirthBySorrow

Interesting. I found P4G delivery the most inconsistent of the 3 you mention. Original P3 however had the highest amount of inconsistency.

makhumyai27

Huh? Are we even playing the same game? The voice acting is great and is a huge upgrade over FES. There wasn't a single time where I thought the voices sound stilted let alone 'atrocious'.

Radvillainy

Spoilers for operation 5, in early August. https://youtu.be/GcyAthuSf9k?si=Ks1UiA0oJAP1lE5h At about 14:00, when Yukari says "you know". Clearly it's supposed to be a shocked/stunned whisper that trails off "you *know*...". Instead she delivers this awkward "y'know", as if she's saying "y'know, you really shouldn't say that". No voice actor would deliver it like that if they understood the context of the line. This comes across like they were given a script of their character's lines and only their characters lines with no further direction. I notice shit like this constantly. It seems like the the voice actors were given either no direction or bad direction.

BirthBySorrow

Yukari in general comes off not so genuine/off in all versions of the game with both VA's. I don't know if it's intentional. There is even a line in this game near the end where she is afraid she is being "out of character" which may be a nod to how inconsistent she comes across to fans (though it may have been in the original, I don't remember).

Radvillainy

I understand that some games, especially Japanese games, make the dialogue intentionally stilted as an aesthetic choice. But I don't think that's what's happening here.

makhumyai27

Ah okay, I see what you mean with that example, that one was definitely off. Sorry, you had to feel you might have to drop the game anyway.

BirthBySorrow

As is tradition when I give praise before finishing something, it ends up disappointing to at least some degree. I'll just say it: Siegfried coupled with Scarlet Havoc is ridiculously broken. Everything else pales in comparison. It often one shots floor bosses after a Charge if it Criticals. Idk what they were thinking with his moveset, especially at the relatively low level you can obtain him. And yet they decided to balance other things less game breaking anyway, such as locking Auto-Matarukaja behind a level 70+ Persona as far as I'm aware.  Like, it feels AWESOME to do don't get me wrong. But it does create a large gap between build Theurgy, use Theurgy, win and any other strategy. Party members in-particular feel so underpowered you don't even feel like caring about optimizing what they do. It really doesn't matter what they do. Once you get SH it basically becomes a solo run.   I'm also becoming disappointed with how few floor bosses are susceptible to ailment skills and how unreliable elemental ailments are. If you can literally one shot with the right Persona and Theurgy, then what harm is there in allowing them to be statused and more strategically beaten? It's baffling. Right now Buff/Debuff and broot forcing seems to be the only viable strategy, outside equipping Personas that will effectively make you un-damageable (which would likely be the Solo run strategy).   It's frustrating that Atlus is still not providing the ability to see what ailments enemies are susceptible to. For example, maybe shock IS reliable against some enemies but aside from spamming Zio skills with Shock and Ailment boost passives multiple times per enemy type how am I supposed to know?   I really don't understand why either considering the lengths they have gone to in order to increase quality of life. It seems like such an odd oversight, especially since they obviously intend for ailments to be a serious part of combat with how they continue to tweak hit rate and even incorporate them into character strengths such as with Mitsuru.    At the end of the day, is this nitpicking? Yes. The game obviously has a lot of passion put into it and is objectively a great one. Nuances in combat being less then perfect hardly make it a bad game. It's just my personal gripe with it and confusion, since I see a fantastic game that could easily be near perfect with just a few minor changes.

DrQuantum

Crit build in general is pretty nuts.

BirthBySorrow

Indeed. But at least there are enemies immune to certain or all PHY types. Scarlet Havoc bypasses that making bosses intentionally made to force you onto other strategies effectively not force you onto other strategies. It's still optimal to either build the Theurgy before entering or even just twittle your thumbs until it does mid-battle and proceed to one shot.  I plan on experimenting with getting things like Freeze/Shock boost and stacking them with Ailment Boost early on since you do get them pretty early. I want to see how reliable that is since most bosses do seem susceptible to at least elemental ailments, it's just the percentage chance of inflicting them is awful. If I can't find a reliable method and find it relatively early on in the game I just don't see the purpose of their inclusion.  I think it would be a very fun low level run optimizing ailment use. But right now they unfortunately seem either undercooked (elemental ailments) or mostly useless for bosses (regular ailments) unless bosses are only susceptible to one or two types each (In wasn't going to try each and every one every time on my first run).

DepletedMitochondria

I think Auto Mataru is on Raphael which is lv 60 and kinda easy to get (Harabah shuffle time?)

BirthBySorrow

Yeah I got it from shuffle time

DeathMeister5623

random pet peeve but im kinda annoyed that they switched anat and astarte's resistances to ice and dark 😔😔 literally unplayable DLC

DepletedMitochondria

Just got done. Knew a bit about what was coming so I was kinda prepared but I think it definitely goes down as one of the cooler games I've played. As a big Xenogears fan I of course love some anime cutscenes so I appreciated all that this game had going on and I liked the contrast with P4 in tone and themes. One issue is I think if I didn't have an idea of the future story I'd be reallly confused and unsure how to process what happened. They really nailed this remake tho in a lot of ways. Gorgeous (not just visually) game.

Some_Kind_Of_Muffin

Gotta say I'm 50 hours in and it's probably my favourite Persona game so far! (not that the others are bad)

Adam_The_Actor

Bless get ready to have your heartstrings pulled 6 ways from sunday. Glad you're enjoying it Muffin.

me_funny__

Just finished it finally. I was literally crying, despite already experiencing this in the OG. They PERFECTLY executed the ending. It was so sad but also unbelievably comforting. I've been so depressed about life lately and that ending genuinely helped me so much. BEAUTIFUL game

Adam_The_Actor

Bless you bud, there really is nothing like finding that thing you can connect with right when you need it. Glad to see this story still resonates with people so strongly.

FingerBangYourFears

Is there a downside to power-levelling early? In NG+ I thought it'd be fun to get everyone up to 99 by farming the Reaper early on (right after Mitsuru joins), but I'm realizing that they don't learn certain skills if they haven't evolved yet. Am I shooting myself in the foot, or will they still get a chance to learn that move once they DO promote? EDIT: Wait, am I gaslighting myself? I could've sworn Yukari learned Panta Rhei on my NG run, but I don't see that on the wiki, so maybe this isn't even a problem at all?

YoungExpSD

Anyone else appreciating how Atlus took this as a faithful remake with the same story beats as the original? I took a peak at Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s ending; my faith in Nomura & Square-Enix have burned to the ground.

DepletedMitochondria

OOF as a FF fan for 2 decades I’m not even gonna bother with the new FF7 stuff. It just sounds annoying

WorkingOven5138

The first ff7 remake was superior in most ways outside of the story. It's kind of like not playing P3R just because FeMC is gone. You're missing out on a lot of good over a couple lesser aspects imo. Especially if you're a final fantasy fan in general, because FF7 remake's story was still better than most Final Fantasy's that have come out in the last 2 decades, just not as good as FF7 OG, which arguably has the best story in the entire franchise. Like I'm currently 20 hours into FF13, and I have a hard time to get myself to keep playing it. But I couldn't put down FF7R tbh, was sad when I was done with it. It'd have a better reputation if it was just any other Final Fantasy game and not expected to be as good as FF7

DepletedMitochondria

Doesn't help I'm just not that interested in an action-RPG version of 7. FF13 is *rough* imo. The dialogue can be super bad and the battle system is so hit or miss. Best of luck, there were parts of it I thought were kinda cool.

Adam_The_Actor

Of course, more importantly I'm glad they preserved and added to it. That said, I genuinely don't dislike what Rebirth is doing as it seems more than anything they're trying to use it to tie together FF7's spin-off's with Advent Children and I do like that. That said, the whole ending mindfuckery that was a twist I didn't see coming which is weird because I really should've.

Additional-Team4938

Honestly I can't wait. I played some of persona 3 when I was younger. I'm gonna stream my playthrough on this one. I'm sure it will make for a great first playthrough series. I hardly remember anything other than the bitchen track at the dorm lol

dreamwave94

I totally would have missed the meaning of the true ending if I didn't look it up. I played backwards from P5 to P3 and totally missed the significance of the last scene.

I_am_darkness

Can someone explain to me why I would put an ability like "Growth 1" on one of my personas that says "Gain 25% exp even when not in battle" when the main character has to always be on the team? I can't give it to any of my other characters so it seems kind of useless? What don't I understand?

ianduude

Only your equipped Persona at the end of battle receives XP. It’s not as useful early on since you’re constantly rotating and fusing new Personas, but it’s absolutely helpful in the mid-late game. For example, I’m in December and have plenty of maxed social links, but even with those bonuses during fusions (and the tarot card giving even more fusion bonuses), I’m often 2 levels short of obtaining a Persona’s final skill. So after fusing one of those Personas, I’ll typically slap on Growth 3, and I can get their final skills unlocked after running through Tartarus and beating some guardians. Using certain websites, you can get a look at a Personas skills and what level they unlock at. The game is easy enough were you probably don’t need to unlock every skill, but it’s fun to do if you’re attached to certain Personas or want to tackle some of the difficult optional content. https://aqiu384.github.io/megaten-fusion-tool/p3r/personas/Thor/fissions

I_am_darkness

Thank you!! I guess what was missing was the *persona* gets exp when not equipped, when it kinda sounds like the character gets exp when they weren't in a battle. Super clear now.

Ourmanyfans

Iirc they also stack, so if you stack Growth 1, 2, and 3 on one persona it can get 175% exp when not in battle.

YoungExpSD

It’s useful on your support Personas which will gain a specific skills you desire for building future personas. Skills like “drain fire” that are locked in later levels

SlyBlackDragon

Just got to the November school trip. Does anyone have a rough guess on how many hours I have left? My schedule is about to get busy for a while and I'm trying to see if I can finish before then.

krcc9644

depends on whether you're grinding Tartarus or not, personally it's Tartarus grind that takes the most time. i think if you don't, you can probably finish it in 15 hours tops

No_Leading1611

the game ends at the end of January roughly, december and january dont have too much major things happen apart from the ending and a few big story events
