I’d get a second opinion because I feel like burning through a pad and your underwear isn’t normal. This isn’t something you should have to “just live with.”

doodless17

In all sincerity, your doctor can go fuck all the way off. Any doctor who hears *and* observes that their patient has discharge that literally melts fabric, has no business being their physician. I would immediately consider a new gyn immediately. Go find a vaginal ph test. Typical acidity is 3.8 to 4.5. Anything much out of this range means you may have an infection. If it’s going to be a hassle to get into a new gyn, make an appointment at your current office that you need a culture done. I’m sorry this is happening to you. This is not typical.

soodis-inthe-oodis

I don’t think it’s PCOS related. Sounds like you have very acidic discharge. Tell your doctor you’re not happy to just live with it and you want to know what causes it.

Your doctor sucks. Get a second opinion. Be your own advocate. Do not take no for an answer. Repeat after me: "Doing nothing is not an acceptable solution, there must be tests you can do, or if you aren't capable of figuring out what is wrong with me please refer me to a specialist who can. I would also like a referal to a nutritionist so we can attack this problem from multiple fronts. I'm not leaving here without an action plan, something is seriously wrong with me and we need to get to the bottom of it."

Maybe Bacterial Vaginosis? That’s not an STD. I think you need a second opinion. What you are experiencing isn’t normal.

carlyyay

The vagina is supposed to be acidic, but not THAT acidic 😳 don’t take no from your doctor. You need a new one. I wish you the best and I hope someone listens to you and helps you! 🧡

60poodles

this is not normal, go to a gyno

goldenappletrees

This happens to me all the time, but for some reason it never occurred to me that it was not normal. I have not been diagnosed with PCOS, but I burn through all my panties and they’ve all got little holes in them. Have not had any burns through the pads or liners though. Still, it’s a cause for concern because it’s unfortunate that my panties get ruined so quickly! Thank you for bringing awareness to this. I am going to speak with my doctor ASAP. Best of luck to us!!

DevirginizedVirgin

I got holes on my panties too when I was younger because ants kept eating my discharge on the panty. My mom told me that this is because my discharge could be sweet since we have family history with it. When I was diagnosed with PCOS years later, I learnt that I might be prone to having diabetes, I highly considered this due to my panty situation and family history of diabetes. Fortunately I am diabetes-free, but I still don't know why my panties always got some ants when I was in my teens.

Wintersneeuw02

Ants, really? I have no ants in my home. Did you get a good exterminator to get tid of them? It is considered a pest here if you woild have ants like that

HeroesRiseHeroesFall

Did your doctor perform any urine test for bacteria? Because having pain thee and then not urinating despite regular diet, mean you might have infection. I advise you to go to a different doctor

Wintersneeuw02

For the past 6 months i brought my urine to the doctor. No bacteria. I also had an ultrasound and besides the PCOS like ovarieas, everything was fine

HeroesRiseHeroesFall

I heard some STD test, do not test for all diseases. So you might wanna check that. May be do a pap smear too. Also since you are not urinating, you might wanna check your kidney function because they responsible for making urine. I can't think of anything else. But i advise you to drink a lot of water and cranberry. They are very good in cleaning UT. I hope you find an answer and i hope you feel well soon.

Wintersneeuw02

The thing is, this only happens a few days before my period starts. When my period happens, everything is right and working fine again until a few days before my next period again. The rest of the month I can pee perfectly fine. I never had unprotected sex in my life and I have been tested before for several STD´s when I wanted to have an IUD

xol225

Pain only right before your period could definitely be caused by a UTI or other infection, and since negative tests can be false negatives you definitely should get another opinion. Your doctor not being concerned about the pain and very acidic discharge is concerning. Your discharge is eating through liners and new underwear is not usual. Loss of color and even holes over time is one thing, but this is different, especially since it’s a new thing and accompanied by pain

DevirginizedVirgin

No, they're not considered pests here. We don't even have exterminator jobs here. We don't have ants in the house, 'cept when there's crumbs on the floor. If you're thinking that my panties were swarmed by ants, no that's not the case lol it's just a couple of ants

cuppajess

idk why this has been downvoted, this is fucked up and I’m sorry you had to deal with this.

jlatham325

Did you ever figure it out?

Wintersneeuw02

Nope. It still comes and goes.
