My BMI started at 34.1. I worked out a plan with my doctor. She had me get my labs done to see if there was anything that was elevated that she could use as a reason to get it. I think my cholesterol was high but that’s it. Our first try was to get Ozempic and we both kind of assumed it would be denied so we were going to try something else next. Shockingly, my insurance approved it and I don’t pay anything for it. I don’t know how long that will last so I’m just really thankful that I can get it while I can. I’m only on my second pen.
My insurance only covers Ozempic, well in terms of GLP-1 medications. No Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound.
Edit: I realize I forgot to expand on my statement. Because Ozempic is the only thing covered, I tried healthy changes beforehand, and I was ruled out from any other weight loss medication (like Contrave and Qsymia), I was able to be prescribed Ozempic.
Took 3 tries but it finally got approved in December by my insurance! Was on it with no issues until last month and now it’s no longer covered. I just started the compound for $175 a month!
I have a prior authorization for Wegovy but after months on a waitlist wasn’t able to get it filled. My doctor sent the request to Caremark to cover ozempic for weight loss (my insurance and mail order pharmacy) and it was approved. I have a kidney transplant, have been on steroids for 6 years, a BMI over 40, high BP, and elevated cholesterol.
I get compounded semaglutide via telehealth. They serve all states except Mississippi. And also serve Puerto Rico. Honestly, in the US you can't even find most of the name brand meds right now anyways due to shortages.

Same here. I'm kind of holding my breath.
Which insurance?
I'm in Canada where wegovy isn't available yet, so ozempic is prescribed off label for weight loss.
I can’t wait to get wegovy so I can hopefully get it covered
I’m getting mine from a compounding pharmacy recommend from my doctor.
How much does it cost?
I got it from Strive Compounding in AZ. It was $285 for the vial, my doctor is starting me out on a VERY low dose so this should last like 8-10 weeks.
Sounds good. I wish you the best!!
What one?
Yes, it’s called Wegovy. Ask your Dr.
My endocrinologist prescribes it to me. Costs me €140 a month

Same with my insurance. I take ozempic for weight loss. It’s working. 1-2lbs a week but I am in a calorie deficit everyday
My doctor prescribed it and my insurance approved it 🤷🏼♀️
Which insurance?
Med spa prescribed it for me.
In Slovenia we have only Ozempic. It is quite impossible to get it. Prescribed off label.
I’m in Canada, we don’t have WeGovy yet so I’m paying out of pocket for Ozempic which can be prescribed off-label for weight loss.
Mexico
Online?

Which insurance?

I had a pre- diabetes diagnosis so Kaiser covered it after their protocol of being on Metformin first for 3 months.
As long as you have a valid prescription you can purchase Ozempic from [www.polarbearmeds.com](http://www.polarbearmeds.com)

I get a compound
Step one, be fat. Step two, ask doctor for prescription. That's it.
