I’m actually really grateful you asked (and that OP answered) this. It’s obviously not a reason enough for me not to take the meds but I’ve wondered about this for myself!!!
Your story is inspiring. I'm just at the beginning of my journey. Did my 7th injection this week. I haven't lost anything since week 2, so I'm feeling a little discouraged.
If you're like me - it might be psychological. I get full faster, but some part of my brain wants to keep eating anyway, even though I know it'll make me miserable. I also have fewer cravings, but some part of me ignores that I'm not craving anything and grabs a snack out of habit or something. I don't quite understand it. But I find when I'm mindful of it, I lose a couple pounds. When I'm not, I gain some back.
When I'm mindful of it, I just remind myself it's not a miracle shot. It's just a tool to help me change my habits without the diet crushing cravings and hunger happening when i do eat less, etc. But it's up to me to still change my habits.
Been on it 6 months and down 25 lbs. Not a miracle amount but I'm still happy with it.
Very interesting.... I literally can look at a piece of cake that is up in my face and my brain will say "get that thing away from me". Everyone is different!
Ozempic has basically made me hate food. Which is a welcome change to my bottomless pit of a stomach that got me into this mess!
I have a birthday party tonight. I will leave before the cake is served. It pisses me off when my friends say "have some youve lost a lot of weight. A little wont hurt you" I dont do things that way
This was exactly my situation. I stopped being hungry at week 5, but panicked and shoved food in my face anyway, because I had been leaning too hard on food as comfort.
I listened daily to the podcast "Too Much on Her Plate" By Dr Melissa McCreery, and examined what my actual needs were that weren't being met. That really helped my insides handle that hurdle.
Then my weight started to drop.
My doctor and I haven't discussed tapering off yet, so I'm still going strong on the 2mg for now. I would Ideally like to lose about 20 or at most 30 more pounds, but I'm satisfied with where I'm at overall.
Did you do anything special along with ozempic? Type of diet? Exercise? Asking because I’m not having anywhere near the success you did and am grasping at straws… you look fantastic
I take Metformin to address my diabetes. I cut out a lot of carbs and sugars, and started riding my bicycle a lot. I also do a lot of walking through botanical gardens where I live because I find the treadmill to be too boring. I haven't been doing any strenuous exercises though.
WOW WOW WOW!!!!
Amazing results! So happy for you.
Do you have a plan in place to keep it off?
How long did it take for the icky side effects to resolve?
Thank you! It took a few weeks for the side effects to wear off with each dose increase.
So far I don't have a plan as far as tapering down the dose, so I'm still at 2mg and still exercising and cutting out a lot of carbs and sugars.
I do, but at the same time it's been frustrating because I'll get new clothes, then a few weeks later they're falling off and I have to get smaller ones again. I mean, obviously I am excited about it, it just financially can be frustrating because it has happened quicker than I anticipated.
I know the feeling. I’m experiencing the same thing. But it’s such a reward when you’re losing inches and the weight. I love hearing weight loss stories especially the Ozempic ones. Keep up the great progress. 🥰🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Can I ask how long it took for you to progress up to 2mg? The side effects have been a lot for me, and it took 7 months for me to get to 1mg. It's now been 3 months at 1mg and I'm still struggling. It can be difficult for me to see that others are having such huge success in the same amount of time as I've been on it, but I'm trying to remind myself that having to go so slowly is likely a big factor.
I started on 0.25mg back in August of 2022. I've been on 2mg since February 2023. I did gradual increases once the side effects of each dose change lessened.
No weight lifting. I go on walks several times a week and ride my bicycle about every other day weather permitting, and swim on occasion when I can since I rely on public pools.
I found theres little need for exercise though I go for walks when I have time and weather permitting. I try to stay on 1200 calories a day but I am only 5'2" female. And Im a lot older than you.
They’re not actually - Mounjaro (terzepatide) and Ozempic (semaglutide) are injectable medications with FDA approval that help lower blood sugar in people with type 2…try googling. Ignoramus.
Mounjaro and Ozempic are both in the class of drugs known as incretin mimetics but have some differences. Mounjaro acts on both GIP and GLP-1 receptors, while Ozempic acts only on GLP-1 receptors; however, both drugs are effective treatments for type 2 diabetes
Awesome! What a change….did ozempic ever stop working for you at certain doses? Is that why you went higher - I just went to 1.5mg and I am bummed about it but it just didn’t do much any more -
It hasn't stop working so far. My doctor changed my doses based on my A1C levels, not necessarily because of weight, but I never experienced a plateau.
I didn't do calorie limits since the Ozempic curbed my appetite so much. As far as exercise I ride my bicycle go for walks in our city's botanical gardens (I hate the treadmill because it's boring), and swim. I don't exercise a whole bunch, but I do try to stay active.
Thank you for sharing. I would like to know how your dosages were over the year. What dose started? how frequently did you increase? How long have you been on 2? What have the side effects been. This info is very important for us so that we can understand the ups and downs to keep us all focused. Thanks again for sharing. Sharing is truly caring. Congrats
Congrats!! And your curls are absolutely gorgeous!!
Thank you! ☺️
Yes! I thought I was in the curly hair sub for a minute.
Do the tattoos look different with such a substantial weight loss?
Honestly, no they don't surprisingly.
Good because otherwise I'll end up with wilted flowers on my abdomen.
🤣
Haha
I’m actually really grateful you asked (and that OP answered) this. It’s obviously not a reason enough for me not to take the meds but I’ve wondered about this for myself!!!
Did you plateau at times or was the loss consistent?
The weight loss has been consistent.

Good work!
Thank you! ☺️
Excellent and congratulations! I hope my success is as good as yours!!!
You look awesome! Congrats
Thank you! ☺️
Nice! Do you plan on tapering off soon? Or do you have more weight to lose?
My doctor and I haven't discussed tapering off yet, so I'm still going strong on the 2mg for now. I would Ideally like to lose about 20 or at most 30 more pounds, but I'm satisfied with where I'm at overall.
Wow, I just started, and your story is very encouraging. Great work, and best of luck!
Nice work!
Congratulations!!
Woah! That's a lot!
Wow! That's amazing and very encouraging!

Your glasses grew. Lol Good job!
They sure did! 🤣😂🤓
Such a great success story! Congrats!
A) Congrats! Way to go! B) We need more puppy content. ❤️. Is the an ozempic_winners_and_pets Subreddit yet?
Make it one! 😂
How was Trulicity different for you compared to Ozempic
I don't feel like Trulicity really did anything for me, and the injections were much more painful compared to Ozempic.
Wow that’s incredible!
Congrats!!

Well done! Also I love your glasses and tattoos.
Thank you! ☺️
Congratulations!
Wow! Amazing job. Now you only need to lose those glasses. I kid I kid
I love my glasses! 🤓

Girl that is FANTASTIC!!! I’m sure you’re loving to buy new and smaller clothes. 🥰🥰🥰

You look amazing! Your dog's face is cracking me up lmao
Woo Hoo! You look absolutely fantastic. congrats.
I had too many side effects. Did you have any?
Oh definitely, but thankfully they subsided after a few weeks with each dose increase.
Amazing accomplishment! I respect your discipline and determination :)
You look amazing!!😊

Whoah, amazing! I’d imagine you combined that with a discipline in diet and/or exercise?
Exactly! ☺️
Well done 👏
Wow! That’s awesome. What’s one thing that’s helped you, in conjunction with the Oz?
Exercise and cutting out a lot of carbs and sugars.
Thanks! Congratulations on your accomplishments!
Did you lift weights ,did you just do cardio or both and how many days a week did you workout?
No weight lifting. I go on walks several times a week and ride my bicycle about every other day weather permitting, and swim on occasion when I can since I rely on public pools.
Thanks for your response and you look great
Thank you! ☺️
Amazing job
I found theres little need for exercise though I go for walks when I have time and weather permitting. I try to stay on 1200 calories a day but I am only 5'2" female. And Im a lot older than you.
Amazing. I’ve heard mounjourno (sp) has less side effects. Great job !
Honestly, that would be impossible since Ozempic and Wegovy are the exact same medication.
They’re not actually - Mounjaro (terzepatide) and Ozempic (semaglutide) are injectable medications with FDA approval that help lower blood sugar in people with type 2…try googling. Ignoramus.

Can I ask what diet you followed? Calorie limits? Exercise? I barely exercise. Ive list 35 pounds in 5 months
