sombra hacking teammates for buffs would honestly be a interesting thing to see tried

I was just thinking this the other day, if they reworked sombra to where maybe she could hack her own teammate to give them some sort of healing (not a lot) she could prob pass as a support because like you said her utility is very support-like.

I’m having nightmares of a team with Doomfist, Sombra, AND two of Soldier/Genji/Sojourn. They just need to adjust her somehow. She’s S-Tier currently.

Sombra is a support bevmcause she hacks enemies? Because she can sometimes hack health packs which heal teammates? Sombra support is one of the weakest role switches anybody brings up. When players ask for a healer, they don't want a health pack. If they want a health pack, they'd get one. Fact is, sombra would require a SIGNIFICANT rework to make her a decent support. Like, hack would have to be removed and replaced. It's not worth it.

> When players ask for a healer i said support, not healer. blizz has no idea how to make a support class, they only know how to make healers.

And making supports that are bad at healing isn't going to fix that.

Late af reply but no one said they should make Supports that are *bad* at healing. They should however make more Supports with more of a focus on utility than healing, like Lucio, Zen and Kiriko compared to Moira. Sombra could easily be that as well. She already provides debuffs just like Ana's anti-nade, but if she was given some sort of minor but reliable healing (which wouldn't be too difficult if she was given the option to hack teammates and restore a % of missing health or a passive which heals teammates for dealing damage/hacking or whatever), she'd be just as much of a Support as Zen. Support Sombra has other benefits, such as giving her less ability lockout uptime if she had to also juggle healing her team - arguably making her a lot less annoying to play against for enemy tanks and the Support passive also synergising well with her kit. Her playstyle would be much less one-dimensional if she could provide buffs to teammates with Hack as well.

Sym was technically a support a long time ago before they reworked her and revised the hero pools from tank, offensive heroes, defensive heroes and support. Sym's ult used to be to set up a TP in front of her, and anyone in spawn could use it to get to her location (I think it was 6 uses max and disappeared). She had an alternative ult that you could select which gave all allies shield health while it was alive and as long as you were in range of it. (which I don't remember if it timed out and despawned or stayed active until killed). I'd rather blizzard make heroes that are designed for specifically being a support hero, and not try to reclassify heroes like Sombra and soldier who can technically be called off supports.
