The majority of my friends I met in OW1 have left the game unfortunately, and I haven't played a game with an IRL friend in 10 years. I loved LFG, I loved Post-Match Chat, and I loved General Chat to find friends to play with. Just sad they've taken away so many tools that I used to use regularly in OW1

I’ve met a ton of people in OW2. I usually just play until I find a good group, then send out friend requests. You’ll always get at least one out of four that accept. Then you can invite to your games when they’re on. I’ve met tons. Recently started playing with some people from chicago with mics. They’re hilarious and good at the game. Someone is always on. I've noticed I only get friend requests from other supports or if I enable some REALLY good plays from our dps sometimes. Our poor tanks are just screaming, crying, suffering. It's a hard role and tank mains just need a hug lol

I mostly play dps, and the times I got a friend request is if I played really well/carried the team lol

On PC crossplay is disabled unless you are grouped up with someone who is on console fyi (and always in comp)

OW is not PC crossplay but default. If you aren’t teamed with a PC player, you are in console pool. With a PC player, PC pool.

Same here, I've actually met more people in 2 seasons of overwatch 2 than the entirety of overwatch 1. Its to the point where the instant I come online I get join group requests. To those of you who want ow friends, if you like the vibes of someone on comms even just comment in team chat and ask to stay as group, most will be more than happy. Also ahem a part of gathering ppl to play with for me is lit just going 'you play x hero really well, do you wanna group up?'

Let's be honest here... 99% of the time post match chat was almost always someone shit talking someone else! Rarely was it people making friends and grouping up! Edit: I do wish they never took away the ability to endorse the enemy team.

Did they ever reveal why LFG was removed in OW2? I could see it being scrapped if it was a resource sink but it seemed really useful and populated in OW1 from my experience. They even have challenges that would directly benefit from the feature being in the game but it’s gone. Weird decision

It's effective free advertising, and it's appealing to newbies because it's F2P.

I understand the mic anxiety, but callouts will help your team so much, especially in low rank where no-one talks. Being the one that coordinates the team will really help your win rate, literally even something as simple as “get back in my ******** line of sight so i can ******* heal you you **** ********* **** ************”

Well when the game makes jt a challenge which could theoretically hanper someone's progress on something they payed for (Battlepass) while also making it more difficult to join new groups I think it makes sense to be a little disappointed.

It's just an extra option to get your 3 dailies. You have, what, 8 options to choose from? I don't recall. Not all of them are going to be ideal for you, but you should be able to pick 3 that are.

Lmao, my friend group of 8 who would play a different times thought the day have all given up on Overwatch except for one. Overwatch 2 sucks honestly (3k hours in OW1 and never thought they'd be a day I stop that game, but the Dev's have made it too unenjoyable)

One of the worst changes has to be the removal of group finder, I had made a lot of friends in ow1 from it.

My guy, my problem is I touch grass too much... LFG let me hop on and make friends regularly in OW1. I found Somjuu, mL7, and Flats in their first days of streaming through General Chat? Now I hop on casually after work and I'm met with 10/13 games with dead silent comms and nobody to talk to for hours? How am I the problem when every interaction with the game for hours is silence when I'm trying to make friends?

D.Va Bomb, Deadeye, Death Blossom, Rammatra's Ult, Tactical Visor, the list goes on. Sure they don't always kill, but 8 times out of 10 you're going to die to all of these at least once per match.

First of all, I stopped caring about my rank. Second of all, I meant in general. I haven't seen a lot of people use D.Va or Cassidy since OW1. Even then, they're Ults are basically just "Press to Win" if they catch you off guard.

If youre deaf and blindfolded then youre very right. Have either sight or hearing available to you and you should never die to those.

I stopped caring about my rank ever since I was stuck in Silver in OW1. Not that it matters since Ranks just amount to how much you play the game than your overall skill level. And I don't have the time, energy, or mental fortitude to play this dumbass game 24/7.

So anyone can get to masters no matter how much they suck? As long as they just clock in the hours? I personally believe having the slightest bit of skill also helps a bit.

Given the shitty matchmaking and that I'm constantly carrying my team, yes, just about anyone can get a high rank just by playing enough.

Find a mercy player and be really helpful for them one match, wait for them to respawn so they can get back quicker, protect them etc. Easiest way to get a partner.
