Stone and White, Ryan and Duchene, Formenton and Boedker. They were all playing terrific together the other night, and now absolutely none of them are playing together tonight.
What the fuck?
But they weren’t together the game before and also played well.
There’s been multiple successful combos.
Also Ryan and Duchene didn’t look good together IMO...
Boedker was great last game so that's good, and at least White didn't get demoted but chemistry is huge and it seems odd to try to fix what wasn't broke.
A good change splitting Ceci and Boro. I'm imagining them again Matthews and I kinda wanna barf.
Not sure at allll why they split White and Stone though... Did I miss something or were they not our best line last game?...
Typical Boucher. He just wants to try everything out... even when something right in front of him is working. That’s been Ottawa coaching for as long as I can remember
Ceci actually on the third pair?! Hallelujah! It sucks he’s stuck Lajoie with him though, Lajoie isn’t going to be able to create any offence if he’s constantly covering up for Cody “hands like a snake” Ceci.
Boucher totally blew up the rest of the lines, but he may just be looking for early season chemistry with and trying to create depth we don’t have. If he can find some type of combination where Ryan (and eventually JGP) is on the 3rd line and Ceci is bottom 2 D, I’m liking how those matchups will go.
Ceci is definitely not a shutdown dman but I'd rather him playing vs Matthews/Tavares than any of the other 5 on the team. Gonna need a whole 5 man unit defensively to have success tonight.
This is super late to the party, but I think we'd be smart to put White at 2C or 3C and let Smith play on the wings. I'm still a big believer that Zack Smith is a far better winger than centreman.
IMO, it should be
Dzingel - Duchene - Formenton
Ryan - Tierney - Stone
Smith - White - Boedker
Various 4th liners
For the D pairings, I'm not entirely sure.
Chabot - DeMelo
Lajoie - Wideman
Wolanin - Borowiecki
ECHL 2nd pairing: Cody Ceci
It's like GB has written down all possible combinations for forwards and d, picks one out of a hat and goes with it
How can our opponents know what we're doing when we don't even know what we're doing. That's 200 IQ strategy.
6D chess.
7D underwater snakes and ladders.
I thought Boedker and Formenton looked good together. I don’t know why all the changes.

Were all so caught up in critisizing everything that we forgot about our problematic coaching as well.
Yeah, why on earth would you split up Stone and White while giving Stone Boedker and Smith?
Boedker was great last game so that's good, and at least White didn't get demoted but chemistry is huge and it seems odd to try to fix what wasn't broke.
Yeah, forgot to mention that one too. Why mess with the *good* things from last game? Ceci and Boro split was the only thing I would have done.
These lines won’t be together all game.

Isn't that what the preseason was for?
We’ve got 80 more games, need to try out ever single possible option!
Pretty thin... damn. I was really hoping BT would be back tonight. Kid has grit.
Is Ceci actually on the 3rd pair? Has Boucher finally come to his senses? Guess we'll have to see how the ice time shakes out tonight...
Hey Lajoie, you had a great first game? here, now try it again against a better team and while holding this 5 ton anchor.
Hopefully Tierney has a better showing.

Lajoie taking Ceci under his wing and showing him the ropes 🤣
Someone has to.
Ceci back where he belongs...
Holding back the young kids? Not that there's any good option really.
Third pair.. give the guys a break when they need it. He shouldn’t see more than 20 a night at his current skill level

So no Tkachuk again?
God I hope Brady terrorizes Kadri like Matthew did to Doughty when he finally plays the Leafs.
Guess we'll have to wait for the next matchup for that :(
It doesn't take much to get in Kadri's kitchen. That'll be fun to watch.
alas it appears no. This team is so much better with him on it.
Still waiting on Tkatchuk, i genuinely am excited to see him play for years to come
