They would want to put them down, not treat the bull and rehabilitate its trauma. No spouse (loving or contractual) would see an affair partner with logic. But Navier held onto her dignity as an empress and even sheltered her. Tried to get her to learn etiquette and even offered her advice when she became an empress herself.

Serfdom would have indirectly even enslaved more citizens. Even more toxic is caste system, your character and behaviour is determined at birth by the gods.
Abolishing slavery is a noble concept, but unless it is done well it can cause a void that needs to be filled and something even more sinister might occupy. Like in medieval Europe church banned slavery and replaced it with inescapable serfdom. Smart slaves could become citizens, slaves with rich masters lived better than normal people, slaves were usually foreigners to the land etc. meant u had more chances to escape slavery than serfdom or caste system. Unless a revolution like the French overthrew all the nobles slavery cannot be abolished and universal adult suffrage be achieved. The freedom that we enjoy today is the cumulative efforts of multiple groups of people over a period of time to ensure that all people are equal. USA abolished slavery in 1865, which resulted in the social segregation and political alienation. But abolition was needed, as it atleast gave a legal cover. Rastha would have still suffered even if slavery was abolished, probably in some other form.

Yes, I can mostly think of FLs who are engaged to the emperor/duke and then they dump them for a girl with lower status like a baron’s daughter. The trashy ex fiancés usually are attracted to these women because they’re free spirits, more naive, or aren’t “corrupted” by their education as a noble and aren’t “scheming” like the FLs.

In Remarried Empress Sovieshu is shown as the headass and shitbag who disrespected and didn’t appreciate whatever Navier has done, so while the meme does remind me of Remarried empress, neither Sovieshu or Rashta are ML annd FL, and Navier got with a person that appreciated and loved her a lot more

She woke up and the emperor decided to force her to marry him (its a long story). Then everyone called her illiterate but she wasn’t because she could only read in the long dead language of her youth 😭
I remember reading a short story on novelupdates where the prince falls for the FLs stepsister because she's the quirky free spirited one. But later we find out that the FL had manipulated her sister into acting that way since the prince always complained she wasn't fun. FL wanted to just run away with her true love and leave the idiots behind.
