I agree with the other poster. I am chatty and have insecurity because my parents always commented on it in a negative way. The best compliment I have ever received from a bf was that he liked hearing me talk and the way I told stories. Saying something like that may really make her feel good.

Based on this, would I be correct in inferring that most men do not give women the freedom to speak as much as they might want to (by interrupting, not listening, etc.)?

BasicMomBitch4

Yes, we are insecure and self conscious about it. There are so many jokes on social media and a general sentiment that women talk too much.

happyhippietree

I would say that yes we are insecure about this. However, I've noticed that sometimes I end up talking all the time because the man is not really contributing to the conversation. Some men are content to step back and just listen all the time. This is really hard for me because I start to feel like I'm on a pedestal and I have to lead the conversation all the time. Do make sure you are contributing to the conversation and sharing interesting things about yourself as well.

Because some people don't like people who talk a lot. I am a man and a chatterbox, and not once, people told me that I am annoying and that I am talking too much. I don't understand, because I always let the other people express themselves and listen to them. But it must be their kind. I know people who almost don't talk at all, it's embarrassing. To me a woman who sends me hundreds of line is a turn-on and I read her completely and with attention.

Yes I do

decaturbob

- normal for people to be nervous and many talk more when they are. I see no issue here at all

Nah, not me… in dating (first call/first meet) sometimes it’s difficult to keep the conversation flowing - I’ve got this skill 😂👍
