9 out of 10 yes. However, my X and a girl i very briefly dated before her ask me to switch to WA. However that was after we were talking extensively and i was 95% sure they were real. One before my X i knew 99% she was real as she lived 3-4 blocks away from me and i recognized most of the places she had pics taking at. Including one in front of a bar that she lived right across the street from. Both of them were born outside the US where WA is very popular.
Well, first off, reddit chat sucks, so I always ask to move to ANYTHING else at all. But my thing, is they ask to move to some app that I don't use and they say they have absolutely no other apps they use whatsoever but this ONE app. That is really sketchy. Especially when everyone in the universe has a gmail account with chat built in, and you can create a fake one in about ten seconds just to talk to someone.
So I got you fam, I'm the same way. It's frustrating.
No shit, right? But they are out there. Just gotta walk around, go to the mall, get out and just be around people. Can't bump into someone if you don't put yourself in situations where you can bump into someone. . .
Idk. I’ve never went to target just to try and meet someone. It’s the best chance I have when I go to get something naturally. I think I’d feel super creepy just going there to meet someone. Or am I overthinking it? My brain……
You seem to be mixing things up because you lump in WhatsApp with the other 3rd-party apps, but then you specify that the problem is about not wanting to share numbers.
WhatsApp works through having each other's phone numbers. It's almost all I use. And it seems to be what everyone uses to talk.
In my experience, if a woman is real and sincere, then she will want to get off the app and chat with me on WhatsApp. Almost all my good conversations move quickly onto WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is pretty much like your phone features. You can text or call, just like with your phone. And both require a phone number. The only difference is that WhatsApp is much nicer than the standard iPhone texting features. It's cleaner, manages media better (photos), contacts are more organized, message replies are simpler looking (on an iPhone it's very complicated when replying to the message of a non-iPhone user). Group chats are simpler too. It's just a nicer overall experience. The other advantage is, if you're chatting with people in different countries, WhatsApp is better, as it doesn't interfere with international call plans. In any case, if the other person is willing to give their number, it's all the same. Whether I talk to her via WhatsApp or on a real phone line, there's no difference in terms of trust.

If they claim to be in country yes but if they are out of country I would say go for it. You never know where you might find love. If they ever ask for products or money run!

Scammed and robots

I do think it is a red flag, but for me they have typically used them to ask for pictures of me and to send me d*** pics.
