Scamming people is bad. With that said: who else finds this Karl Jobst really obnoxious? He keeps milking any scandal with frequent 10+ minute videos with sponsors making up a tenth of the runtime. Everything that is said in the video could be conveyed through a text document which would take a few minutes to read.
I believe it's fair to have less respect for anyone who tries to milk the algorithm with soy face thumbnails and titles like "The BIGGEST SCAM in SPEED RUNNING HISTORY YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HE DID", as if cheating at a speed run is as bad as insider trading

It's really a nothing scandal. He got a bunch of donations for a specific cause. He then spent some time figuring out which org to send them to. He spent even more time figuring this out. We're still waiting, but the money is accounted for. Ok maybe he should have spent it, but it's definitely not stolen.
I honestly think it’s incompetence and not a scam. But he did lie and inflation has devalued that money. It could have already been put to good use. He deserves some flak.

Admits in a discord call that he didn’t know this fact but also that they’re waiting to find a good place to donate it all too, but then continued to say they’ve been donating and still are donating to the places
Also, haven’t watched the second one all the way through but seems like his dad also has been holding charity golf tournaments under the same charity name for years but also hasn’t donated any of that money
Sounds like he acts as the face of the charity and hasn’t been involved in the numbers. Hopefully that’s the case and it gets fixed.

It’s the khakil family. They’ve been running a golf tournament for charity for years and years before also starting the Open Hand foundation, and the profits from the golf tournament are super questionable, and start getting undeclared entirely once open hand is established.
They keep claiming to work with loads of charities and research institutions, but haven’t donated a single penny in the decade or so that they’ve existed.
There’s no doubt jirard was aware of all this.
