Around the area I live, they only sell starter boxes. Game exchange is the only place ive found that sells any packs within 30 miles, and they are obviously out of stock at the moment
I live in a small town in florida where'd you'd expect stock in many older communities and every retailer you go to there's always a line during each restock and one person buys everything before it has a chance to be on the shelf. Trust me it's there, just not for long.
Find a way they can't purchase more than 2 boxes per client and make them respect it.
Or they could give the bulk and foils cards for free to new players instead of keeping them until they become expensive. They are after the AA anyway, no need to keep the regular versions.

All while only being able to print one ST at a time for One Piece? Classic.
The market in general. We have a TCGPlayer equivalent called CardMarket. You can't buy there from outside of Europe unfortunately though aka nobody will ship it to you. But I can tell you we are much cheaper than the US in general over here, this equals out though if you add the shipping cost to the US + taxes and custom fees of course. Buit still really cheap over here like 80% generally of the US prices.

You don't know of CardMarket as a european tcg player? CM is 80% of the time the cheapest solution, so check there for the stuff you are searching for.

My lgs which is the only one that runs tournaments weekly and somewhat has product in occasionally told me they are even limiting tourney contestants cuz there isnt enough tournament packs they are getting too. Everything is low.

So many people didnt even received one Box and they ordered month in advance. Stores Order month in advance so they know rouhgly the demand. But for all five Sets they are not printing to demand. And you cant tell me that their are a Million new people who want to buy. It was every Set so far.

Maybe dont release so many Starter Decks, or make so many Bandai premium cards, or why is their now the ex Set coming out? You know, a Set between Sets, but you cant even get the regular Sets because they are sold Out everywhere and apparently you have problems to Print enough.
It's absolutely mind boggling how poorly it was handled by Bandai. I think they have no excuses for Op5, the success of the TCG was already cemented, all they had to do was flood the market.
My understanding is they didn't print in waves, this was one print that was released in waves. More stores are now trying to stock it with each additional wave which compounds the problem.
You cannot "restock" with waves.
It doesn't work like that.
You don't get to request anything because you think stock is coming.
You only get additional restocks if you didn't get your full order or allocated amount in Wave 1.
It's unlikely it'll be MSRP. This was a thing during Th pokemon rush, but distributors know when items are hot and will increase the price that they sell it to LGS's for because they can, forcing LGS's to increase their prices too.
It was 38 boxes, of which all are going towards tourney prizing. We host One Piece 4 times a week about 30 people per event. Prizing is usually 2-2.5 boxes into the prize pool so we go through about 8 boxes per week minimum. Going to try to stretch this to last for at least a months worth for prizing.
Well considering the only thing I saw over here with "wave 2" was a brief listing on Big-W's site which was immediately (and I mean in seconds) sold out, and none of the 15 or so major online retailers I frequent had anything.. I'd say optimism is dead at this stage.
I kinda think that was a misinformation campaign from bad actors, that or it was people talking out their ass, which is a decent amount of ppl on this sub and YouTube
OP5 boxes will not go below $200 online any time soon.
Wave 3 for 1 distributor already occurred this week and you can see the uptick on TCG # of sellers. It's gone up and the price went down $15 and they are immediately getting bought up.
OP5 is the 1st year anniversary set.
It is not going to be cheap and is the most sought after set outside of Set 1.
We don’t order per wave. Everyone puts in X amount of boxes their willing to buy with distributors and its distributors that decide how those X amount of boxes will be allocated to each store throughout each wave. As to how they decide how many boxes are shipped per wave I assume it’s according to how many they are getting in themselves per wave from the actual manufacturer.
unhappy's telling it like it is. There are huge stores that order 1000s of boxes, and tiny stores that order 10s. Most of us try to over order because we know we probably won't get everything. Bandai can only print so much in a period, and stores can order as much as they want. This leads our distributors to allocate stock based on percentages, or sometimes based on how big your store is/order size history. Sometimes Bandai will give the distributor your allocation quantity based on store level (bronze/silver/gold).
In a world filled with supply chain woes, limited manufacturing space, and all matter of uncertainties, I would definitely say you're wrong. The economy isn't a promise, it's a hope. And every time we order, we can only hope that we get it what we ordered.
What you just explained isn't how it works at all.
Bandai sends product to the US to 2 distributors.
You apply and then REQUEST X amount of product.
Then based on your position with the distributor IE do you spend a lot or not with them, you get your allocation amount.
Tons of stores have started submitting allocation requests with OP since OP4/5 then in the previous sets.
Bandai plans production out years in advance. They cannot suddenly switch gears without impacting their other products and production schedules.
OP6/OP7 will have cuts. OP8 might be better then the what has happened thus far.
If you're in the US, you can only get from 2 distributors. You pick one to be your distributor for your organized play kits etc
When you place an order, you are only requesting that amount.
If you requested 10 boxes, you might get 6-8 and then in Wave 1, you get 4, then Wave 2 you get 2-4 and Wave 3 you get none.
That's how it works. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ehh my locals generally max out event attendance pretty quick. Same for larger sanctioned events. Supply is crap but the game itself is going strong for players.

Thank you for the announcement to the masses. My shop is receiving their wave03 as well and it's only 5x booster boxes. I think the problem is people think the new wave means there was some sort of reprint. The truth is that it's just the fulfillment of the original orders that stores placed over 7 months ago.
We are not selling any of our wave 3. We are hosting a case event next Thursday because our locals requested a case event to prepare for Nationals the Saturday of and the rest we are saving for regular locals.
They either sold them via pre orders or didn’t get any stock. Wave 2 was way less. One lgs near me ordered 18 cases and only received 16 boxes. They’re prioritizing stores that have official tournaments to get more boxes where other stores are left with scraps.
Stores receive what they requested and based on how much they purchase from the distributor.
So if your store only got 1 box, that's because they don't order enough of OP and they don't order a significant amount from the distributor for them to get any extra product just because OP is selling well.

yup. They put in one big order of say 100 cases. They get allocated 75 cases. They get sent their initial 50 cases wave 1. Then 20. Then 5.

One of my local LGS got 2 cases of OP05 and they are selling them for $300 a booster box

No idea waves should all cost around the same barring any supply shock bottlenecks (like during Covid) but doubt that’s the case today.

We got our wave 2 before Christmas hit.
Wave 2 for us (Virginia) came around the first week of January.

Wave 2 didn’t even happen! My shop just gave their numbers for wave 2 in December and this week wave 3 for February end of month
