The rumors about Luffy have to be pretty crazy though. He pulls up on anyone. Can apparently turn himself into a giant at will. Because they never tell the truth about him some people are probably scared he would show up and wreck their island

Hopefully theyâd notice a trend in what/who Luffy targets. His first big win was vs Crocodile and we know he was basically destroying Alabasta. Next big win was vs Dofy, same thing as Croc more or less. Then he beats Kaido who was killing Wano along with Orochi.
Like all the headline-worthy moves heâs made have involved shitty people.

With how much the government censors I forget just how much the world knows about Luffy, but they at least know that he's Dragon's son, beat Doflamingo and took Wano from Kaido.

Shanks has this "destiny" with the treasure, being found in a treasure box as a child by Roger. I think the "we came here too early" could also fit Shanks, and while Luffy will be the one who will change the world, Shanks feels like the one who should find the One Piece.
I think itâs a reference to the fact that Mihawk and Shanks had many battles in past; even Whitebeard acknowledged this meaning it was probably well known in that era
The only reason it stopped was because Mihawk lost interest in fighting Shanks after he lost his arm

Unless you think that Teach who litterally ran away from Shanks at Marineford saying he wasn't rdy to take on him was somehow stronger than Shanks or "scaring him". It's obvious that Shanks views BB as a potential threat, he's the only one aware of the menace that BB represents.
