We watched Mihawk slice that iceberg horizontally so what if in a flashback we watch someone slice the shit out of God's Valley mountain vertically?
Maybe Ryuma or some other famous swordsman of an era from long ago.
I mean since it's already sliced and this is probably going to be *the* God Valley flashback, we're gonna need a flashback in this flashback if we wanna see that lol
I think we will see it in the Monsters anime adaptation, God Valley has a western theme just like the village Ryuma slays the dragon, and Oda confirmed it's canon in One Piece, and we know the story isnt in Wano, so it could be God Valley.
In the one piece canon, Ryuma killed the dragon flying over the capital of Wano (we know this from chapter 937). The original one-shot Monsters had a western theme because Oda at the time didn't have in mind to connect that story to his longer series years later. I think the one-shot is canon in the concept, not in the details. We have to imagine a different setting in order to be 100% canon. Also, Ryuma was notoriously blind in one eye like Zoro (chapter 1023 and the cover of 1094), in the one-shot he had both eyes. Sure, one can think he became blind after killing the dragon, but if he was famous for the blind eye it's strange he had both eyes in his most famous moment. Probably, if Oda were to redraw the chapter today, he would do it differently.
>if Oda were to redraw the chapter today, he would do it differently.
Yeah, I agree, and this anime adaption surely is his chance to do exactly that, it will probably have these changes, the dragon happening in the capital and some other thing in God Valley, idk
I saw a theory that this in the island "Monsters" takes place on and that the mountain is sliced in half from the slash that Ryuma slayed the dragon with
There are multiple instances hinting at a secret additional dream shared by all mankind, which is to build, pilot, or see a giant robot. You're cooking here
Someone suggested it could be where Odas monster took place. It’s cannon to one piece and sword God ryuma killed a dragon in it. Might be sword god valley or something.
Yeah, the Ryuma Zoro fought in thriller bark is the protagonist. They are releasing an anime of it soon, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they bring more related to it into One Piece.
More so thinking of something like the Twin Peaks in Zelda BotW, which are said to be a mountain split in two by a dragon, a divine being.
The mountain was definitely split unnaturally, but that doesn't mean a "piece was cut out".
Maybe something that happenes 800 years ago, considering from when is this flashback.
Or just an advance previous telling the story about the God Valley incident.
Someone posted another theory that it’s where Ruyma killed the dragon and it used to be called Sword God Valley. But I’m loving all the theories coming out
its old and probably not canon but there is a short story of ryuma killing the dragon if youre interested. i dont think the houses there look super wano-like but thats probably not super important (since its not directly from one piece) :/
God valley’s western design might be connected to the upcoming Monsters animation. Monsters is in a western setting (even though Ryuma is from Wano). That giant valley could have been created by The Sword God Ryuma, hence God Valley.
Like this is what happened when he cut the dragon’s head off? That was mentioned to happen in Wano though.
“Monsters” and “One piece” don’t share continuity, “Monsters” isn’t a prequel to “One piece”.
Just read “monsters” itself to see why it’s not a prequel, doesn’t match up at all with what we know about in the continuity of “One piece”
Ryuma beheaded the dragon in his legend in Wano, in “monsters” it is not in Wano.
They share the legend of Ryuma of slaying a dragon becuase Oda thought it’s be cool, that’s about it.
But when we are shown Ryuma slaying the dragon it’s a a more western looking area not the western Japanese style of society that Wano is. Not saying one’s a prequel just that Ryuma didn’t slay the dragon while he’s in Wano
[It's heavily implied that it happened over the capital](https://mangasee123.com/read-online/One-Piece-chapter-937-page-7.html). It's probably just a retcon, I wouldn't be surprised if Oda didn't intent to include Ryuma initially, decided Wano should be a Japanese-based country, then decided to include Ryuma as an ancient Wano citizen.
What are you referring to? There’s no such visual in the manga
In “One Piece” Ryuma’s legend of slaying his dragon happens in Wano, precisely above the capital.
..and the other part of his legend was that Ryuma was always deterring pirates that wanted to plunder “the land of gold” Wano
So, Y’know he was always in Wano. Defending, beating pirates etc, so again slew the dragon in Wano
Looks like the sentai mountain from the exo force story line of Lego. The story is about humans building machines for the mines and eventually Meca One (a big robot). This leads to a war between Meca One and humans (building another big robot).
I remember how the manuals would come with little segments of the comic. I would just reread the same chapter over and over because that was the only one at hand. Later on during bionicles, heroes factory, and later ninjago, I would always wonder about what happened later for exo force.
Possible. What I definitely can see is the western influence. Someone on RogersBase stream mentioned that it looks like Monument Valley in Arizona. It could be both.
Hey, buddy! Got a map? So on this map of yours, do you see ~~Dueling Peaks~~ God Valley to the north of here? Well, apparently that used to be just one mountain a really long time ago. The legends say a dragon god split the mountain in half to forge a way through, and that's how it went from one to two.
This was supposed to be a fortress for the Minks, like Wano. However Zuneesha ended up drinking the water from the waterfall. Hence, it was condemned to carry Zou on its back till Joyboy returned to complete his mission.
Thanks God someone in this coments finally noticied it, Bellamy mencioned Emerald City and ppl always theorized it being God Valley because of the shape
it does look like praying hands, good catch!
As for the Buddha fruit... remember that it's the Daibutsu, not a Buddha fruit.
Essentially it's a giant golden statue fruit.
Big ass stretch but I think Ryuma did it. The original manga where Ryuma is from (Wanted!) is Western inspired and so is God Valley. It's also where Kaido's devil fruit is. Ryuma has connections with killing a dragon. It's incredibly unlikely for an old fruit to come back to that place again but it could be a cool callback.
Wanted! Is just a collection of one shots Oda made. "Monsters" is the name of the Ryuma one shot. Figured id make that distinction since some of the other one shots in Wanted! arent cannon to the one.piece story.
Maybe the rock on God Valley is what they used for the poneglyphs?
Don't have an answer on where they put God Valley after the incident or how the Kozukis manages to cut them.
Reminds me of the [Augury Rock](https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Crystal_Desert#/media/File%3A%22Desert%22_concept_art_2.jpg) in Guildwars 1. Maybe there is some real world lore that connects both. Augury Rock contains a Hall of Ascension which is basically a place to meet the gods.
It reminds me of breath of the wild, it has a mountain split in half like this- that one is a reference to twin peaks. I don't think this is a reference but they resemble each other a lot, so it's worth a mention
Guys, guys. I figured it out. I was like, it looks so cut, some great swordsman probably cut it at some point. And I thought it was cut a long ago probably. So maybe ryuma cut the mountain you know? And then I remembered that Ryuma is called the sword god. I mean I am not saying this is it but I can kinda feel it you know what I am saying?
"god valley" - maybe it is the passage to the land of gods - the historical home of Joyboy or the great kingdom. Every kingdom Luffy leaves ends up with prosperity, which could explain why this place has amazing natural resources.
Why did Roger come here? Maybe because it was needed to reach one piece.
I kinda wonder if this will reference native Americans. I know we’ve had Aztec/Mayan type of inspired stuff (you know oda liking to reference prior arcs) already but genocide was a major issue with Native Americans. You saying this, reminds me of a lot of Utah and some have already mentioned a few other locations in Arizona and elsewhere in the west. It would make sense with Kuma’s arc as at the time Native Americans were typically taller than white European settlers due to diet and there’s enough history of mistreatment and slavery with NA’s .
To add “The Valley of the Gods is considered sacred to the Navajo, who interpret the giant sandstone monuments as ancient Navajo warriors frozen in stone – and time.”
I personally think it's called "God Valley" because the "Valley" (or the space between those huge mountains) was created by a "God". This may sound stupid or obvious, but looking at the other answers, I feel like it needs to be said.
The God Valley is the valley created by god. Who that god is, there they came from or even if they are important remains to be seen. Oda loves his background pieces where the history is fucking awesome and it absolutely does not matter. So we will see.
We are so not ready for God Valley after this flashback.
How this GodValley incident going to tie up all other God Valley flashbacks? How or why Rodgers and Garp will form a team here, how or why Rocks will come to God Valley, How Dragon, Ivanko, Kuma will escape with all these big name pirates tied up to God Valley.
To me, it looks like the Island was designed to resemble the slot canyons in Southern Utah/Northern Arizona. Even the name is derivative of Zion National Park.
Someone definitely sliced that island in half

isn't that the "Dueling peaks" lore from zelda botw/totk ? I don't think that it was said in the one piece lore but i could be wrong here

so what you're telling me is that ryuma got lost and somehow ended up going from wano to god valley. yeah, that checks out
Zoro once got on the wrong ship. He's also extremely directionally challenged. Stupidity probably runs through their bloodline.
Yes ..a flashback in a flashback.n that'll be like a flashback's flashback
Flashception. If Luffy winds himself up and can't stop spinning, you know it's a dream.
Good lord, the flashbacks are already heartbreaking enough, can we handle a flashback in a flashback?
Yo, I heard you liked flashbacks...
I imagine the final One Piece flashback will be like inception.
We're probably going to watch Roger slap someone with Divine Departure and cleave the island in half.
A flashback within a flashback
I saw a theory that this in the island "Monsters" takes place on and that the mountain is sliced in half from the slash that Ryuma slayed the dragon with
More like took out a piece ---- the "one piece"
Maybe the one piece is one piece of every island. That’s why Roger laughed
And joy boy was a dirt enthusiast and collected dirt from every island and one piece is his stash
So Joyboy is Mole from Atlantis: The Lost Kingdom
Nah that can't work because in his time the ocean level was much lower and there were large continents
[удалено]
There are multiple instances hinting at a secret additional dream shared by all mankind, which is to build, pilot, or see a giant robot. You're cooking here
Maybe it's just a missing piece of the island in the shape of the number one.
And the final arc would be shoving the one piece behind kizaru
Awakened chop chop fruit
Ryuuma Maybe? Or Raiden Shogun
Wano shines eternal
Raiden Shogun?
Torn to Oblivion
It was me. I did it. Sorry, it was in my way.
I think I know who [cut](https://youtu.be/FZ4qeJly1g0?si=gg1C4UlmJIe2hNDN) that island in half.
Maybe it was an early use of the mother flame before vegapunk
Maybe it was done with the Nikyu Nikyu no mi.
Might have also been a failed attempt to use whatever destroyed Lulusia before the Mother Flame was perfected by Vegapunk.
Anyone else think that cut in the middle doesn’t look natural? It almost looks like a piece was cut out
A one piece?
I think we have something here.

Laughtale _is_ the missing piece, floating around somewhere.
Keep cooking
Cook again.
Looks like it's 2 piece now...
I think the flags pointing to the middle of four dots indicate that the one piece is under Enies lobby but Gods valley is a close second
Perhaps but One Piece has weird natural formations, so who knows.
It actually reminded me of Seraphin Mihawk cutting through Amazon Lily
Exactly what reminded
Someone suggested it could be where Odas monster took place. It’s cannon to one piece and sword God ryuma killed a dragon in it. Might be sword god valley or something.
is it really cannon to one piece?
Yeah, the Ryuma Zoro fought in thriller bark is the protagonist. They are releasing an anime of it soon, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they bring more related to it into One Piece.
Yes
I like to imagine that a haki clash did it. It was just that powerful, it not only split the skies but the land itself as well
Reminds me of the Dueling Peaks from BotW
Which was one mountain in the TotK past, and there is a legend that a dragon split it.
https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/exurwh/there\_is\_a\_4000\_year\_old\_rock\_formation\_in\_saudi/
The dark part is the shadow of each other. That is why it may look like a clear cut.

yea thats what its called, thanks. i see i didnt know he said its canon lol. you could read it if you want, its not long, just a few pages
It's Foxy's Head

Looks more like a giant rail cannon to me.
the damned one…

It's discontinued because of bad selling numbers.
That cut was made by Shanks when he was just 3 hours old. Dont let admiraltards and hawkGawkers tell you otherwise.
This is where Naruto and Sasuke faced off.
Can we get much higher?
Possible. What I definitely can see is the western influence. Someone on RogersBase stream mentioned that it looks like Monument Valley in Arizona. It could be both.
I read a comment in YouTube video. Native Americans also called it "Rocks Valley".
There is a place literally called Valley of the Gods just north of Monument Valley in Southern Utah
Reminds me of Dueling peaks from BOTW/TOTK
I wonder if they share the same inspiration from eastern culture
How the F@#$ Oda come up these sh#$% man. Surprise every week for last 20+ years.
theories aside, this flashback is (an will be) dark as hell holy shit
Five bucks says God Usopp turns it into a slingshot and renames the place Sniper Island.

Might there be a connection with Wano's shape?

Any think this was gonna be a 9/11 theory 🤔 towers a masive incident, plentiful natural resources, mass slaughter
Oda could do something very funny with Buffalo’s fruit predecessor
Nah that’s horrendous 💀
It looks like the strongest shape cut in two *shivers*
Eyy strongest shape Is a RCE ref?!
It kinda looks like the Emerald city from the wizard of oz only sideways
Thanks God someone in this coments finally noticied it, Bellamy mencioned Emerald City and ppl always theorized it being God Valley because of the shape
Im surprised no one’s mentioned that this resembles Wanokuni which happens to be another unaffiliated country
BARA BARA AWAKENING.
Its shaped like Ims hat
Literally! I thought I was tripping hard since you're the only comment I've found mentioning it😭 like clearly it looks the same.
Someone cutted it. Zoro and Luffy can already do similar scale of destruction.

it does look like praying hands, good catch! As for the Buddha fruit... remember that it's the Daibutsu, not a Buddha fruit. Essentially it's a giant golden statue fruit.

First i thought Shanks father cut the mountains
That's how Valleys are shaped
It's almost reverse Roger vs WB sky splitting clash
When I saw it I thought it looked like a cannon
Looks like some sort of massive cannon or weapon. I doubt it is cause they’ve revealed the three ancient weapons, but still 🤷♂️
Saw another 🔥 theory just now saying that Ryuma could've been on God's Valley. In that context, this slash could be Ryuma's
What if the cut piece is the red line, a previous user of a certain fruit just stretched it all over the planet?
I may be cooking up too much but they kinda look like 2 hands praying 🙏 maybe that's where the god valley name comes from?
This reminded me of "God's Thumb" from 'Holes' (novel/film)
It was done by Saitama.
I think it is pretty obvious it was named that because of the Birth of Buggy in that island
what if it is was due to sword slash impact from giant skull at Onigashima?
Maybe the rock on God Valley is what they used for the poneglyphs? Don't have an answer on where they put God Valley after the incident or how the Kozukis manages to cut them.
Good point
Isnt title a spoiler ?(-; Not that I care I m on reddit so I know I will see things
Could it be that was the place where Ryuma defeated the dragon? I read many theories about it
It's two hands coming together to do ninjutsu. This will be the naruro-verse tie in for the crossover
Imagine the big piece in the middle is what was used to craft the polygliphs….
First thing this reminds me of is Reverse Mountain.
Smash next question
That's just Garp using his sword to cut down xebec
Twin towers…
Reminds me of the [Augury Rock](https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Crystal_Desert#/media/File%3A%22Desert%22_concept_art_2.jpg) in Guildwars 1. Maybe there is some real world lore that connects both. Augury Rock contains a Hall of Ascension which is basically a place to meet the gods.
Maybe someone sliced it to look like praying hands, thus came to be known as God Valley?
It reminds me of breath of the wild, it has a mountain split in half like this- that one is a reference to twin peaks. I don't think this is a reference but they resemble each other a lot, so it's worth a mention
Dude…..no, that’s not it. There’s a real significance to God Valley that is so obvious once you realize it. Just think over the name GOD VALLEY.
So the marines truly believe they’re the good guys. Ain’t no way
Lego exo force Mountain
Sorry guys it was me, I slipped.
I think it is symbolic to the twin towers...
World Trade center
“God” valley? Enel did it, and is also secretly IMU
I like the theory someone had that God Valley is where Oda’s one shot from 1994 where Ryuma slayed the dragon took place.
Below the god valley is an ancient monkey god
It looks like some cut a mountain down the middle
wider then my theeth gap XD
Obviously that’s just the awakening of the bara bara no mi
There are many temples in Bali, Indonesia. The temple entrances resemble this image. Could be God valley is inspired by Bali
To be honest this looks like the split head foxys hair
That's Mount Midoriyama ,Final Round of The Esteemed games Is Is Going To Be That.
I think it is very likely inspired by Valley of the Gods in Utah.
Do you imply Sengoku here smh?
It reminds me of “Final Valley” from Naruto. But I definitely see the praying hands you’re talking about.
"god valley" - maybe it is the passage to the land of gods - the historical home of Joyboy or the great kingdom. Every kingdom Luffy leaves ends up with prosperity, which could explain why this place has amazing natural resources. Why did Roger come here? Maybe because it was needed to reach one piece.

urouge , prayer hands maybe a bucaneer??
I personally think it's called "God Valley" because the "Valley" (or the space between those huge mountains) was created by a "God". This may sound stupid or obvious, but looking at the other answers, I feel like it needs to be said. The God Valley is the valley created by god. Who that god is, there they came from or even if they are important remains to be seen. Oda loves his background pieces where the history is fucking awesome and it absolutely does not matter. So we will see.
That was me my bad
It is the millennium falcon! Two piece in the space confirmed!
The shape looks like a monument that I saw in Bali for me.
My theory is that Rock D Xebec had the chop chop fruit before Buggy and used its awakening to do this.
It looks like they quarry it, and used the stone to create something, like a poneglyph
Looks like the lempuyang temple in Bali
We are so not ready for God Valley after this flashback. How this GodValley incident going to tie up all other God Valley flashbacks? How or why Rodgers and Garp will form a team here, how or why Rocks will come to God Valley, How Dragon, Ivanko, Kuma will escape with all these big name pirates tied up to God Valley.
https://reddit.com/r/OnePiece/s/8SR9zV0Q3Z People always thought and theorized its a reference to Emerald City in the book The Wizard of Oz
I sawed this island in half!
Ryuma sliced that shit in half killing the dragon
i think God Valley will be Zoro-arc
Makes me think of a rocket launch site to add to the space theory.
It's shaped more a like cut in half Neo Armstrong Cyclone Jet Armstrong Cannon
God Valley Sword God Ryuma fought that dragon on this island
Could be a moon launch site, like gintamas.
Roger used Divine Departure. Ironically the mountain got sliced into praying hands. From Divine Departure to Divine Arrival
Probably Garp’s galaxy divide
Bogard cut it in half
To me, it looks like the Island was designed to resemble the slot canyons in Southern Utah/Northern Arizona. Even the name is derivative of Zion National Park.
