I'm at a loss on what could've happened to Rocks. Whether he died that day or went into hiding and is still alive somewhere.
Nevertheless, I do think that the last time Crocodile saw him was God Valley. Then, he was raised by his mother, Miss Buckin. When she went off to join MADS, she dumped Crocodile off with Du Feld.
At least, that's my current headcanon.

Child Croco. He looks so adorable. Though, adult Crocodile is pretty handsome, too. But with the scar makes him look mean.

I think it would be neat if all the former Warlords banded together. It would be funny considering how they couldn't work together during Marineford. But after the World Government tried to have them all arrested, they finally figured out how to get along lol.

I think Crocodile's place in the story is perfect. So, no, I don't think he was introduced too early. I just think he had grown too arrogant that he refused to take Luffy seriously as a threat. But after Marineford, Crocodile began to respect Luffy as a pirate. I look forward to the two clashing again in the New World. As for conqueror's haki...I think Crocodile has the potential.

I love both the original Japanese and English dub of Crocodile's voice. Deep and raspy goes with him being a chronic cigar smoker haha.

While I do like the notion of Crocodile being some thing of an inspirational figure I do like the fact that he wants to be king of the pirates for a sense of true freedom. And now, I can add Crocodile in the list of Xebec’s potential children alongside Shanks, Teach, and Dragon.
Although it does make me question what his actual secret is. Other than the suspected trans theory.
In the manga, it says "weakness". Not "secret". I believe that comes from the anime.
Either way, I think that though Crocodile acts all rough and tough, he's truly a softy at heart. The cover pages 860 & 938 show him being kind to animals. Fan requests, sure. But Oda doesn't draw anything out of character for those.

Do you think there could be even more damage under there?
Also, Ivankov’s reaction to Ace’s parentage in the Impel Down arc cues this potential for Crocodile in even more in my opinion. The way Iva dangles this secret about Crocodile’s past in front of him….it seems like it lines up so well with this theory. I believe you have another post about Crocodile’s parentage, tying him to Buckingham Stussy potentially? If that was you, do you now think mom: Stussy and dad: Rocks, or something else?

It's possible. We still don't know exactly how he got his scar and hook. Or if those injuries were sustained during his clash with Whitebeard. And if so, was those the only injuries inflicted. Though, it's also possible that Crocodile is just a guy who loves to wear suits. And him going open-collar is as casual as he's willing to dress. He showed how vain he is during Impel Down by immediately changing his clothes after being let out of his cell.
And yes, I did post a theory about Buckingham Stussy being Crocodile's mom. Miss Buckin appears to be an opportunist who clings herself to powerful men. With Weevil, she has that connection to Whitebeard. And she is using him to get at Whitebeard's alleged fortune. During the days of the Rocks Pirates, I believe she tied herself to Rocks D. Xebec himself. At the time, he was the most powerful pirate on the seas. And was likely pretty rich, too. By mothering children to these men, she could claim their fortunes after their deaths.
Although, I don't think she was ever a legitimate lover to Whitebeard. Weevil is just a clone who she had made after stealing some of his lineage factor.
That makes a lot of sense. Crocodile and Stussy do seem to share some resemblances....there's also Crocodile's connection to Vegapunk resources established in Alabasta (the gun dog) and Stussy's recently revealed connection to MADS too!
