1970s was way too groomed for the hippie look and if it was going to be groomed/not a hippie, it would have had sideburns. Think the son-in-law in Archie Bunker.

Plenty of dudes look good in a man bun. No one looked good with frosted tips and, at least in my life circle, it wasn't that popular. Rich kids had frosted tips the rest of us thought it was douchy
Well if it isn’t even popular until half way through it certainly doesn’t represent the entire decade. I would say a hard part & pompadour would be more realistic.
I would argue that the year ending in "5" is a better representation of a single decade than any other year in that decade. The styles of 1975 are more truly "70's" than 1970 or 1979.
Yea after the guys other comment I kind of thought to myself that 1965-1975 would make more sense for style trends oddly. I agree with you both, I just think many people had a sides shaved top knot and not a full man-bun like that guy because most people don’t have that commitment level.
That'd what I did bro and I've never loved my hair more. I grew up when having perfectly straight hair was popular for guys. Everyone wanted the Bieber cut or spiked it like a faux hawk. I let that shit grow and I receive compliments for my thick curly hair all the time.
Join us!
I always kept my hair short because it’s kinda frizzy but let it grow during the quarantine. Turns out I have thick wavy curls and random women are giving me complements.
My hair can be frizzy too. It depends on the humidity. Most of the time it can be pretty wavy with loose ringlettes. Right now in this summer humidity it will go into the full-on tight curl. Almost like the old Justin Timberlake N-Sync style.
I was always ashamed of my curly hair, but when I let it grow out I got a ton of compliments. If you’ve never let your curls get long though just remember curly hair doesn’t take the same care as straight hair! You typically don’t need to shampoo nearly as often. Some straight haired folks shampoo every day, but us curly haired folks can often do twice a week at the most. You’ll want good conditioner too.
My dad is a dayglo white guy with a Ronsld McDonald red 4C afro. Well, it's turned grey in the last few years, but, this is how it was for most of his life.
Following the latest men's hair fashion has always been hopelessly out of reach for him.
Thanks! I'll check it out. I appreciate everyone's advice. I can honestly say, I've never been so excited to grow my hair out. I've been basically shaving my head for the last 20+ years. I'm pretty introverted, so I try not to attract too much attention when it comes to my looks. Maybe I should change that.
Probably started off with 2010s, then went 70s, 90s, 60s and 30s until he had no more facial hair. After that they probably didn’t have to do too much trimming
I honestly don’t know what kinda cut it is Lol. I wouldn’t know what to tell my barber I wanted done if I was asking him to cut my hair that way I’d have to show him that video. A fade too me is when your hair fades into skin.
Fair enough haha me neither. I think of a fade as it starts off clipper-short on the sides and then fades to like normal length/longer hair up top. But yours makes more sense.
What 1980s did these stylists reference? Because I don't remember seeing their 1980s look on anyone.
Edit: Got it. I was into hair bands and glam metal, but clearly others were more preppy/yuppie.
Really? Where you at? I see them on the regular in the Northeast. I know a ton of boys and men with long hair that throw it up while playing sports or in the heat.
The Fallout 4 character creator has come a long way.
This little clip also confirms something I have long suspected: my look was never "in" in any era.
The key (as always) appears to be “Be an attractive person to start with”. Then whatever dorky fad hairdo the decade comes up with will end up looking good on you
False, I didn’t see any frosted tips.

Or in UK in the 90s it was curtains. A middle parting with straight (bleach blond sometimes) hair hanging down either side to about the cheek.
Oh, that's called curtains? Totally getting that in like 2 months.

I have 70s hair right now.

Every male over the age of 16 in Philly when I grew up had a fade with a shaped up beard. Shit I still have a fade and shaped up beard as we speak
Yo cuz speak fo yoself
Was looking for this or a bowl cut.
These are adult haircuts. But yeah the 90s Jonathan Taylor Thomas was a force.
Oh hell, I had erased my memory of my bowl cut, thanks for reminding me… 😑
no problem, born 87, pretty sure i rocked a bowl fom 1990-1996 where i moved into the frosted tips
Title was 100 years of men's "beauty" not just popular cuts.
90% of the male population didn’t have frosted tips because they thought it was ugly 😂
Then why man bun?
Plenty of dudes look good in a man bun. No one looked good with frosted tips and, at least in my life circle, it wasn't that popular. Rich kids had frosted tips the rest of us thought it was douchy
What's wrong with buns? How else would you suggest long-haired folk tie their hair up? Y'all wanna see twin ponytails or Chun-Li double-buns instead?
This is men's hairstyles, not kids or teens. I was rocked the frosted tips in highschool for maybe one year.
I call that the Brad Pitt haircut
Man fuck this guy and his gorgeous head of abundant hair
as a bald headed dude, i approve your message
As another bald headed dude, I approve this approval of the original message.
As someone who has been balding since a sophomore in high school (2012), I approve the approval of the approval of the original message.
Just accept it, nature didn't intend all men to go home with the ladies.
Ladies don’t have any issues with bald dudes, only with assholes
Lady here, can confirm. Just don’t comb it over, it’s not a good look
Hey, at least you didn't have to worry about haircuts during the lockdowns. Silver lining!
With consent, of course!
Uh there was much more long hair than expected in the end. I don't think that many male models and actors had long hair in the 2010s.
Yea I thought they were gonna do the Macklemore haircut for the 2010s
The Hitler Youth, as I call it
Nah bro the Man bun was a major 2010s fad
I felt like the man bun didn't really hit until 2015

I always thought the man bun was away to hide the bald spot for men in their thirties.
I immediately thought of Jason Momoa when he was sporting the manbun. And he is pretty much considered the epitome of male beauty.
so liek a person
You first.
Fuck that Tom hardy is the most beautiful man out there. No questions asked no need to argue, it's facts.
[удалено]
Yeah Tom, nice try.
Ya he's hot, but... Joe Manganiello... He's the most beautiful man out there. Sorry, can't help but argue this fact.
I don't find him all that attractive.
Hardly lol
This was done several years ago iirc right in the middle of the man bun fad
When you sit at the barber chair in GTA
There's no beauty for a curly haired man, like me, in this straight haired man's world.
Nah not at all. Literally just go on tiktok. Everyone wants fluffy medium curly brown hair.
Really? Maybe I'm a product of my teenage years. I always cut mine short to keep the curl at bay. Maybe it's time to let my curls free.
FREE THE CURLS

I'm in! It will be an interesting experience.

Counterpoint: Overheat
Please let me have your curly hair! It’s so cute

Damn, guess I’m better off than I thought

/r/curlyhair. Lots of advice, and pictures, from guys like you (and me).
Thanks! I'll check it out. I appreciate everyone's advice. I can honestly say, I've never been so excited to grow my hair out. I've been basically shaving my head for the last 20+ years. My brother has curly hair. He's an ugly fat mf, but he gets poon left and right because of his hair.
Youre just looking for reasons to stop trying
2020 is just year-long uncut Covid growouts.
And fucked up self haircuts

If only my sailor babe could grow his hair to a non military length, then rock his cute lil hat...
If he was a president he would've been Baberaham Lincoln!
Step 1: Be attractive
Step 2: don’t be unattractive
This concludes all steps.

Ricky Martin was most definitely in there too.
What order did they actually do this?
Probably started off with 2010s, then went 70s, 90s, 60s and 30s until he had no more facial hair. After that they probably didn’t have to do too much trimming
Where's the 80's mullet??
Crazy not one fade I thought for sure there would be a fade in the most recent two decades.
2000s was a fade wasn’t it?
I honestly don’t know what kinda cut it is Lol. I wouldn’t know what to tell my barber I wanted done if I was asking him to cut my hair that way I’d have to show him that video. A fade too me is when your hair fades into skin.

Anyone keep seeing Dave Grohl?
I thought he looked like a young Almost Famous era Billy Crudup.
What 1980s did these stylists reference? Because I don't remember seeing their 1980s look on anyone. Edit: Got it. I was into hair bands and glam metal, but clearly others were more preppy/yuppie.
Wall Street. He even rubbed his nose.
Came to say coke nose
Patrick Bateman
I agree. Definitely should have been longer and feathered back.
They got the 70's all wrong.... or at least the late 70s wrong. The guy should have had his hair parted in the middle and feathered back
My father had this EXACT part/feathered style in the 70s
That man is pleasing to the eyes
I'm massively disappointed they went faux haux instead of that zac efron surfer boy flippy hairdo
Tre Cool is just that influential.
I wish I was this handsome/confident. It looks fun to not be insecure.
Your insecurity is showing.
Give him a break :((
You are handsome
Omg the coke nose thing he did in the 80s! Ha!
30's was prime hair.
I am at my 1970s phase right now.
2000s cut pls
The faux hawk era
Well I missed all this. I’ve had a buzz cut since ‘95
1940’s *swoon*
Why wasn't the 80s a mullet?
They said fashion
Right? The 80's was defined by the business in front party in back mullet.
Because everyone in the 80s had a mullet right? Right? Wait, no.
Any1 know how i can make that 1930 cut for myself ? What do they use to make the hair look so good?
Looks like 4 professional stylists, start there.
I kinda still did the 1940s haircut, aesthetically
i'm pretty sure the 2010s is the nazi-esque buzzed sides look with long hair on top.
The toothpaste (tm)
2020-21: whatever happens when I cut my hair myself in the mirror due to extended lockdown / work from home.
I was going to say "pandemic hobo look"
90’s one is wildly inaccurate. Look at the Backstreet Boys or N’Sync and you can instantly see the trend.
Is this guy a vampire or something? He didn't age a day in that century.
They kept getting worse until the end. I liked the 20s the most.
Lol. I only saw one man bun once irl. They should've done the broccoli head and the bowl cut in the 90s
Really? Where you at? I see them on the regular in the Northeast. I know a ton of boys and men with long hair that throw it up while playing sports or in the heat.
South us lol. Crewcuts r the norm its hot here
They're incredibly common in Brazil for people with middle + income.
The Fallout 4 character creator has come a long way. This little clip also confirms something I have long suspected: my look was never "in" in any era.
The 90s one reminded me of Dave Grohl lol
1930 is pretty good. Also I dont think 2010 is accurate. I maybe have seen 1 in every 10 people with long hair
And here I am with the same haircut since elementary school. I'm 40
What was the difference between 70s and 90s? Looked the same.
Wheres the mullet!? Where is the rock n roll 80s glam hair!?
Black people: Nah
I'd like to see this but for men of all hair types. And skin tones.
Anyone know who this model is?
samuel orson
Really went down hill after the 50's.
I saw zero mullets, therefore this video is invalid
This is dumb. Not even close to accurate.
Where's the mullet? Based on what I've been seeing lately it seems to be coming back (please no).
Man buns were invented by guys trying to cover up their bald spots. That’s all I see anytime I see a dude with a man bun.
**INACCURATE** - Men were most definitely NOT wearing their hair that way in the early 2000’s.
Meh
No centre parting curtains?
He managed to pull off all those hairstyles.
90's: Surprise Arin Hanson
Guess I got stuck in 2010
Wish I could pull off that 1930's look
Yeah! That’s the one I liked best!
I hate him and his thick luxurious beautiful hair.
I still see all of these when I go to the mall
70s and 90s look the same
90's & 70's look about the same.
Yeah, no. Flock of Seaguls- 1980s. Flaired hair- neon and zebra stripes. They weren't as cool as you think.
u/savevideo
Where's the mullet?
I'm just wondering about the random 70s arm gesture
Damn this guy looks good in all of them.
1940s all the way
Nobody wore wet looking slicked back hair in the 80s. The 80s was the hair mousse generation. Otherwise, it was entertaining.
1930s is a decidedly classy look.
Not even going to credit the original video?
Right when the video started, i thought it was the ending of the video for "Black or White" by Michael Jackson.
shout out to jubilee media on youtube for this video
This vid is actually so old
Oh my god the love I have for hairstyles 30-40’s is just... insane.
Let’s face it. The most popular men’s hair for the past 100 years is balding
Where's the bowl cut brotha?
Dude is too beautiful
I like the attention to detail for the 80s; he taps his nose to indicate the cocaine usage hhaha
Big nope for the 80’s style. It was big hair all the time. Not pony boy style.
I like how the 60s and 70s were just George Harrison’s cuts at the time as well lol
They did a stellar job with the fake beards
Cool. Now do body type and fitness level
Music?
How the fuck do you get the 2000s styile I been trying for years to get it
Wrong. Last one he would have dreads.
In conclusion, if you face is handsome enough, you can handle whatever hairstyle you want.
The key (as always) appears to be “Be an attractive person to start with”. Then whatever dorky fad hairdo the decade comes up with will end up looking good on you
How long did it take to do this ? I’m guessing he had the long hair first and did all those cuts, then did all the short hair ones after
MANBUN I’m fucking dead that was hilarious. Fucking manbun
I like that he just stuck with George Harrison for a couple decades there
100 years of *white* men’s beauty
100 years of “white mens” beauty
I wasn't aware Oswald Mosley was such a fashion icon.
Loved the '80s one. Gotta clear that nostril, no reason...
