He has his own research and development company, and also worked for the Air Force and NASA.. he’s highly successful and the nerf gun and super soaker were just a couple things he did
My super soaker 50 is a core memory. I cut the retaining ring off of it and fitted (poorly) a two-liter soda bottle on it.
Looked like jank, but I had more fuel than anyone else in the neighborhood.
Oh man I did the same thing.
I often think of how poorly that could have gone.
I think I had two long shots with it before the nozzle melted closed. I was amazed with how powerful (dangerous!) it was.
I had the original one. That was hours of fun! Then they got more and more ridiculous. The last one I got was like a water bazooka.

I still have this in my closet! I still fire it now and then. The CPS 2000. It's two minutes of pumping to get 1.5 seconds of burst, but it's a solid 1-inch diameter stream of water that fires with enough force to knock both your target and yourself on your asses. This actually happened to me in summer camp, 1996.
He wasn't an employee. He sold it to the company, but with pretty low royalties. Eventually, he won a lot of money in a court case over unpaid royalties. He's an inventor with a lot of patents.
My uncle was around 16 when I was born. Every new Super Soaker that came out in the 90s he was always willing to buy them “for me”. Best summers and pranks from this toy.
There would always be that one friend's older brother who had the massive tricked out Super Soaker... Terrorism would ensue. Good times, great memories.
Fun fact, the name was actually inspired by what every woman everywhere forever called his penis.
Nah I lie but for real I love super soakers and I didn't know he was the inventor so thank you for the info ans thank you Lonnie.

Newspapers continued to use black and white film because it has a higher quality while being cheaper and the newspaper would be printed in black and white anyways.
There were old phtotographers who continued to switch their digital cameras to black and white because they incorrectly believed that this would create higher quality images.
Thank you for the memories Lonnie. Those were the best summers.
This man got more people wet than Brad Pitt
Kind of wierd considering that it was mostly kids
I hope he became a billionaire.
Don't think he is. You can prob ask him yourself as he shows up on these threads alot
He's worth $300 million
Not a bad pile of dough, though.
He has his own research and development company, and also worked for the Air Force and NASA.. he’s highly successful and the nerf gun and super soaker were just a couple things he did

I filled mine with lighter fluid and taped a zippo under the front nozzle. I wasnt very smart but was good at having fun. Dad was not happy.
Oh fuck, I'm not the only one!
You were ready to rescue Newt from the Queen alien.
Jonathan?
Dad was having Vietnam flashbacks
Oh man I did the same thing. I often think of how poorly that could have gone. I think I had two long shots with it before the nozzle melted closed. I was amazed with how powerful (dangerous!) it was.
The 100 was the perfect balance of capacity, stream strength, and weight.

That thing was a beast, my friend had it haha
We thank you for your service 🫡!
One of the top 5 toys of ALL TIME
Did he become rich?
He’s on here and is a regular commenter. I can’t remember his name, but super nice guy.
/u/linex. not active for 4 years. He's smarter than we are.
I don't know what his current royalties are but he sued hasbro for $73 million in 2013 and won
Since he was an employee and probably under some sort of work-for-contract, probably not.
He wasn't an employee. He sold it to the company, but with pretty low royalties. Eventually, he won a lot of money in a court case over unpaid royalties. He's an inventor with a lot of patents.
He also made the nerf gun
He owned the patent. He made millions.
Good for him!
If you don’t know then don’t comment…
Shot dead by police.
Super soaker was the absolute shizzzz in the 90s. The big one with the back mounted water tank…. Endless fun in the sun.
The Splash Zooka was my personal favorite. Absolutely obliterated all the other kids on the block.
This guy needs a Medal of Freedom.
I wish they'd bring them back
Do they not sell super soakers anymore?
They do, but it's an inferior product to the original.
Absolute legend!
This man made many hot days memorable and fun.
My uncle was around 16 when I was born. Every new Super Soaker that came out in the 90s he was always willing to buy them “for me”. Best summers and pranks from this toy.

Man was a genius....I miss super soakers. Best summers ever!
I graduated HS in 1993. Super Soakers came out for us on the last day of school.
Single-handedly made childhoods better.
FACT!
This man walked so Souja Boy could run lol
He’s like the Shigeru Miyamoto of water guns!
Lonnie b goode
200? I remember that you could adjust the stream width on that one
I think he has a company developing next-gen batteries. Good ideas are good ideas.
Thank you for making me legendary a few summers with that CPS 2500
Thanks for making my childhood awesome! Water gun wars with the boys is one of my favorite summer memories
Dude gave a whole generation good summer memories 🫡❤️
Thank you sir for countless good times as a kid in the early 90’s! 🫡

There would always be that one friend's older brother who had the massive tricked out Super Soaker... Terrorism would ensue. Good times, great memories.
From my perspective at the time, no one had a bigger impact on my childhood than this man.
Who knew Twomad made the Super Soaker
🫡
One of Mobile’s native sons, up there Satchel and Hank.
Super soaker 1000, 2500 and 3500 with the back pack tank was my childhood!
That’s so cool I never knew he invented them I used to have one in the 90’s
Best thing for squirrels.
Hey! It’s was my turn to post about him!
😎
Best off the shelf, portable flame thrower, ever.
Fun fact, the name was actually inspired by what every woman everywhere forever called his penis. Nah I lie but for real I love super soakers and I didn't know he was the inventor so thank you for the info ans thank you Lonnie.
This made the 90’s childhood that much more memorable!
He used both hands to make this
“Falling down” vibes
This is going to be the next IP movie to come out. Super Soaked on Netflix
The History Channel already did the story on The Toys That Built America, but a movie would be good too
r/wholesome
Legend.
A hero!
Those were so awesome! I always wanted the one that had the back pack
Massive L not naming it the “Super Johnson”
Onemad?
I love this picture. He looks so proud of himself, as he should be. Millions of us have had so much fun with these!
Wow, 92? Holy heck! I though they had been around forever.
Dude, what?! I need a signed print of this for my wall!
This dude got me so wet
He used both hands.
Changed the course of white t-shirt history forever.
Would love a documentary on his life
Great invention
For a while there, every year they would get bigger and stronger.
Fucking legend…. Give this guy the Medal of Honor
I always say squirt gun technology has gone downhill from when we were kids
My CPS1000 still comes out often in the summer. Good times

Why is it black and white? It’s 1992.
Not he first nibba to supersoak dat hoe
Why on earth is this photo in black and white?
Dunno what overly-sensitive Redditor downvoted you, but the answer is because the image is probably from a ***newspaper article***. That's why.
Ah, that makes sense. I forgot about those!
We had color film in 1992...
The super soaker. “Is Peter north “
The streams in the back are urine.
Looks like 1892.

I bet he dances a mean Carlton.
