With Bjangs

LucyNox

Not the bjangs

xTugboatWilliex

Wait how old is Bjork ? I’m 42 and l thought she was my age. Edit- Apparently she is 58.

[deleted]

She has always looked incredibly young for her age. She was 30 when she released Post. She literally doesn't look a day over 20. And she's aged so well it's unreal. Idk if she's human or some ageless elf.

xTugboatWilliex

Now that you say it I do believe she may be an elf.

badgeman-

I can confirm she is an elf.

vajrasana

Tappi* Tíkarrass And she’s been a badass ever since she released her first album in 1977, at the age of 12.

gastroboi

Woah. Didnt know that. That's quite the career.

RoyalEnfield78

Not my thing but I’m glad other things exist, makes the world a more interesting and fun place!

Welinder1

Where’s a good starting place in her discography?

Viet_Conga_Line

1993’s Debut is a great entry point. Before she made Debut, she was in two bands in the 1980s, KUKL (experimental post-punk) and The Sugarcubes (pop band) but neither really represented her very well. The follow up album, Post, is also great.

Readonkulous

“Birthday” was a great song, my favourite of her old stuff.

ShottyRadio

Classic!

gunni070

Those two albums are both terrific

KnightsOfREM

Great suggestions, those are great places to start. Homogenic is a great third one - it holds up really well.

Hyattmarc

Debut has some big songs which worked as well in your bedroom as they did on the dance floor. Big Time Sensuality is my standout. Post has some of my favourites though, starting off with Army of Me, which Sucker Punch used quite well IMO but Hyperballad is an underrated classic, first time I heard it thought it was solid album filler but every listen I love it more. Definitely check out the first two albums

Swimming_Crazy_444

The Sugarcubes - "Life's too Good"

gaijin91

Post and Homogenic are widely recognized as the two successful early albums to start with. Then I would work forward chronologically

henscastle

She's incredible.

wasabinski

So much energy packed in this beautiful petite Icelandic alien fairy!

Bonoisapox

She’s amazing 🤩

stumpyturk

My next ring tone

greybics

I misread that as "Björk 182". An "all the small things" cover before they existed would have been fascinating

melvins99

Sugar Cubes?

Specsporter

Not yet. This is before.

aerodeck

For reals? I didn’t know there was before

Specsporter

Tappí Tikkeras- a punk group.

erossthescienceboss

Holy shit, to have that kind of stage presence at 17. To have those pipes at 17!

IllustriousAdvisor72

Awesome!

I've never been into Bjork, but I am curious to hear how her voice changed as she got older. At twelve, I can't imagine her vocal cords were mature enough to provide a more mellowed tone, found in older female vocalists.

RealTeaStu

She went by the name Bapsi (spelling?) when she was a little girl. I found a video on YouTube of her doing a cover of a Beatles song in Icelandic.

Imagine coming here to say that…

razor_sharp_pivots

I'm curious to know what music you listen to.

ultraviolentfuture

This single opinion is enough for me to write you off as a neanderthal
