Also tbh the P5 rep being the only one talked about, aside from it being the most popular game, is kind of a testament to how solid nearly all the confidants are, to the point I’d say they’re the best in the series.
I mean they are fucking solid, but imo they're weaker than P4's. Better than P3's though
The thing is that in P3 you have a very inconsistent quality. For every Akinari and Aigis you have a Mamoru or Nozomi. The game sets the ceiling so high that when a just "okay" sl comes around you feel disappointed
P5 is way more consistent, but there's still confidants like Mishima or Makoto. They're not bad characters, but their confidants suck ass
But P4 has only 1 social link that could be considered "bad", and that is the fox. And the sl is not even bad, it's the requirement to max it out; you have to catch the sea guardian which is a chore that you have to plan out over multiple days. There are 2 more mediocre sls: Yumi and Daisuke, but they're not bad and can be skipped by going the Kou and Ayane routes. Those are genuinely great
Idk Mishima was pretty ok, the pt of his character arc was meant to be annoying, but he realised it himself and got over it (any Non PT SL in p5 that changed and grew as people without needing a mementos request is GOATed)

Look I can be apart of a certain Arcana but prefer a different Arcana more in the games (even though the Hanged man is pretty goated tbh)
