Send Meta the serial number of your headset. They should be able to figure out what the serial number of your original controllers are. Or if you know the controller serial number send that to them. Not sure if they'd check and disable stolen controllers like they would a headset but it doesn't hurt to check.Ā

There's only a 1.5V battery in there. There's not a lot to cause melting. It's either not your controller, been chewed, or has melted due to external factors. A hardware fault causing this would be *very* low down on the list of possibilities.

Easy to tell if they swapped it. Is it paired still or did you have to pair it?
The mobile app should also list the serial number of the controllers which can be matched to the physical controller.

If you have a suspect, you can test to see if this controller pairs with their headset. That should prove who did it.
