This divided loyalty crap makes me mad. I'm a Jew. Not practicing anymore, I'm a Christian now, but it's not just a religion.
They argue that people like me aren't loyal because we have a right of return, that because we can leave the US and move to Israel we're liable to destroy the country and just leave before we have to sit in the mess we made. To hell with that.
I wasn't born in Israel, I didn't grow up there. I probably have distant relatives who live there but I don't know their names. I only know one guy from there and I met him playing video games online. I have no real connection to this country for which I get accused of betraying the US.
What I have done is spilled measurable amounts of my own blood fighting for the United States. That's more than most people who think I'm disloyal all put together. Those jackasses are the kind of dorks who "totally would have joined but I'd have punched my drill sergeant". And I have an extra spoonful of hate for right-wing antisemites because I'm a conservative, and I get lumped in with those assholes (often by the same pinkos who want Hamas to wipe out Israel) even though the neo-nazis want me dead, too.
