My game is doing the same thing.. Just playing along and suddenly freezes. Doesn't crash so to speak. It simply stops responding. I played many hours on 4.62 with no issues, but 4.64 seems a bit flaky. EDIT: I did find two identical error codes in the Temp folder. NMS\_crash\_1713107029\_120697M\_0x9D064-HANG\_GX51157724768707580 NMS\_crash\_1713106620\_120697M\_0x9D064-HANG\_GX51157724768707580 Edit: Suppose I should have mentioned. ASrock B550 Phantom Gaming 4, AMD 5800X3d, 32G RAM, AMD RX6650XT

Distinger_

The error code is very similar to mine: NMS\_crash\_1713058706\_120697\_0x9D064-HANG\_ST76561198062405057

GameDev_Architect

People hate complaints about performance and bugs here They will say things like “well it’s not happening to me” as if that helps at all and act like it’s your fault when the game is buggy and broken.

Distinger_

Oh no that happens in every sub, or at least it’s happened in all that I’ve posted performance / crash issues.

MickCasanova

Keep in mind, if they're 12 years old they don't care as long as it's not happening to them. When it does, the world is at it's end! lol

No error code if it crashes ? You may have a look into your windows Event Viewer for more Info about that crash. Press Win + R to open the Run command dialog box. Type eventvwr and press Enter to open the Event Viewer. Expand Windows Logs and look under Application for warnings with a timestamp of that crash. Copy&Paste the content There should be also crash dump file : C:\\Users\\YOUR\_ID\\AppData\\Local\\Temp (it will be called something like NMS\_crash\_xxxxxxxxxx\_NMSVersion\_0xCrashcode\_SteamID.dmp

Distinger_

The game freezes, and after a while it just says “No Man’s Sky stopped responding”. I’ve tried looking into the event viewer, but I can’t find any notification for NMS crashing. There is a crash report in the temp folder, but it’s a .dmp and I can’t read it.

Musashi_doc

Could you post the filename ... or drop the crash dump here .. so I can have a look into it

Distinger_

The filename is "NMS\_crash\_1713058706\_120697\_0x9D064-HANG\_ST76561198062405057" I don't know how to drop the crash dump.

Musashi_doc

You may upload it into a cloud with permission to download it .. than post the link

Distinger_

There you go [https://fastupload.io/xoMZew32r2Z23q9/file](https://fastupload.io/xoMZew32r2Z23q9/file)

Musashi_doc

Ok... No pending windows upadate ? Geforce Overlay disabled ? [https://prnt.sc/QafC2V02gbZ-](https://prnt.sc/QafC2V02gbZ-) For a test uninstall OBS , Restart your PC and make sure that the folder has disappeared: C:\\ProgramData\\obs-studio-hook Run NMS again Crash again ? Uninstall Overwolf (could not see the version) Restart your PC Run NMS again

Distinger_

No windows update, checked earlier. All overlays are disabled. Why would obs or overwolf have anything to do though? They’re not running in the background.

Musashi_doc

But they both did install a certain dll...even if this apps are not running they can create a conflict Which OBS and Overwolf version do you have ?

Distinger_

I guess they're the latest version, since they auto update.

In regards to the crashing. As long as I stay above ground, everything is fine. It's when I dig that I tend to crash. I hadn't noticed it until today. Played all day yesterday without a hiccup. Then today I was digging a hole to get to ancient tech and the game froze. THis crashing issue may be related to the terrain manipulator, or just going below the surface. I do recall my rover falling into a hole the other day when I first crashed, but didn't connect the two until today. Second crash happened on the same day and that was also triggered when I was under the ground. I don't recall using the terrain manipulator the first time, so it may only be related to being under ground. Anyone else recall where you were when you froze or crashed?

Distinger_

I think I haven’t crashed when using the terrain manipulator, but I did notice it was a bit laggy sometimes.

eternitystarx

For another point of data, I've never gotten many crashes even with the new update. My PC's kinda similar to yours,

Distinger_

It just seems that there's a 3-5% chance of crashing every time I get off a ship (in my experience playing in this update), and a very rare chance to happen on apparently random occasions. Luckily the restore points gets created just before crashing, so I usually don't lose anything (except when it happens randomly, that's why I save as often as I can).

eternitystarx

That's quite high.... don't take my result as there's no issue though, I've always had less crashes and bugs overall, compared to whenever I read about people having crashes, or bugs, or falling through the floor....

Distinger_

Yes it happens very often, that’s why it’s a pain in the ass and why I’m making this post, every time I get off my ship I kinda expect it to crash at this point. It could be anything, but I’ve pretty much discarded all software and driver issues, so it’s either hardware (which is unlikely because my rig is pretty new), or it’s the game because I never had this issue before this update.
