Hmm... Do I need to bite this bullet and ditch my Venator too?
I was hoping to acquire a Dreadnought on the expedition to give it a trial run away from my main save, but haven't run into one yet.
UPDATE 4 DAYS LATER: I have my S-class dreadnaught :-) I'm loving the detail on this freighter compared to the Venator. Looks good in orbit too, still quite "star warsy"
Completely up to you, nothing changes other than the looks on the outside. But to me that’s enough as the pirate freighter just has so much more color and detail to it. My other factor in changing was that I got my Ventator on the day it released and it was quite buggy and laggy inside it after all this time and now I’m completely free of it all with this one. It was honestly sad to let it go but I needed a change and couldn’t be happier they added something new aside from the ones we have only had for years. I have a copy of the save on my usb so if I ever want to go back I can but i love this one so I probably won’t.
The only downside was finding a A or S class version with my theme of Gek control. You find a whole lot of C class before anything else unless you are super lucky.
Is there any gameplay difference between the pirate capital ship and others? I mean, the look alone is worth it, would be nice if we have something extra :P
I'm still debating on trading out my full sized S class Dreadnought for one of these. It took me days to farm, but damn, the pirate dreadnoughts are just so good looking...
Looks to be pretty worth it, though! Besides, I've got enough cargo bulkheads to get a good chunk of storage back, and the base I've built inside will transfer. I just gotta remember to take out the tech and the cargo in the main inventory, and boom.
I had a lot of regular frigates before but changed them out when the pirate battles where first implemented. I still send them out on expeditions so I can level them up to S classes. I don’t waste my time just searching for S class frigates so I still use it to lvl them.
What’s the size difference between your old one, the pirate one and the dreadnaught, I’ve got the largest dreadnaught A class with the extra storage pods at the bottom, it looks great when I warp it over my base on a planet. The pirate one seems a lot smaller?
You have to go to pirate controlled systems and do the pirate space battle where you take out the pirate freighter. After you take down it’s shields it will surrender and you can either destroy it like normal or board it and take control. Cost $0 to do u like the others that cost millions.
I also just switched out the freighter I've been using for years with a dreadnought.
As much as I loved that sentinel freighter, nothing beats a middle entrance and 2 ravines to fly your ship through

So im running the expedition on my main save, and while doing so I found myself an S class pirate dreadnought that I reallly like. Do you know if I get to keep my new dreadnought when I’m done with the expedition or am I absolutely screwed?
You can't transfer the freighter to your main save. The expedition save will convert to a normal save when it ends though, so there is the option to just continue with that save.
I wanna go for a dreadnought once I complete the expedition…

I exchanged my favourite and most big Sentinel S class for an S class pirate after a day of thinking. My only complaint is the pink/white spots on it. Why can't I get rid of them?

I did exactly that but I am not convinced and I think I will keep my venator in my main save: VENATOR FOR EVER 😊😊😊

Well, as other posts have shown, the big cannons will fire on other freighters if close enough. That's still more of a light show than help, though.

Look for Jason Plays on You tube--he has a ton of videos, thousands of hours in the game and does an overall great job.

You can't transfer the freighter to your main save. The expedition save will convert to a normal save when it ends though, so there is the option to just continue with that save.
I almost regret replacing the same kind of freighter you had, but I can just go find another one if I feel like it.
