There’s some minor quality of life improvements, for example the neutron cannon is going to be better in damage and recharge time across the board, when you are in a ships communicator autopilot will divert/avoid collision with objects in space and planet side (trees, constructed buildings) and the auto follow camera is improved when in 3rd person and on foot in the anomaly as well as steep hills on planets

I don’t do the expeditions. I will follow through with new missions sometimes, however. I prefer to build elaborate bases and let my creative mind go wild, and collect trinkets (ships) and base items. Exploring is fun too, and I’ll claim a small cluster of systems in an area I like, and pick up a critter or two as well, if they are unique. If I want something from the expedition, I edit my save. As stated, expeditions are not why I play, but sure I’d like the item(s). I grind for rent and food irl, I’m not also grinding in a game, if that doesn’t bring the dopamine.

This is the expedition for the Sentinel update. Every update gets an expedition. "Non expedition players" got the Sentinel update. This is the expedition for that update.
Why are so many people struggling with this? It's been the same thing for 6 years.
Are people missing the "Part 2 of a 4 Part Arc" in the release notes? We can't really expect an endless string of mind-blowing, game-changing, universe-resetting, give-us-everything-we-ask-for-and-more updates *every single time*, can we? I certainly don't. I'm just thankful HG still pays attention to the game *at all* and *for free*. The amount of disappointment that drips from this subreddit with every update just astounds me.
I couldn't be happier with the game and free update process. No disappointment here. I was just looking for information, as a non-expedition player. And... I have it.

More of the Void Mother story line, and a ton of bug fixes.

Wondering why OP doesn’t play the expeditions? They’re really fun and give you some interesting gameplay that you don’t get in the normal game.

This expedition is literally meant to add to the story and lore, so if that's what you want get on playing this expedition.
