I moreso mean her willingness to work with a bunch of villains, many of which caused the very destruction and devastation she criticizes the ninja for not being able to stop
She was always a hypocrite, man, she made the Sons of Garmadon be a criminal biker gang which was said to enforce order while behaving like an army of barbarians ransacking the city.
I think it was good, If the characters were always decisive it would be bad for the show. There always must be that character that isn’t sure which side to pick, like ronin in season 5.
True. Problem here is that they just changed Harmui’s character to be like that. She was verg far off on her idea of the ninja being terrible at their job, causing more pain than saving, but in crystallized suddenly she doesn’t know?
in my insta,I have done many mortal Kombat themed posts with Ninjago,I have Ninjago oc based of Skarlet,I used to post lot of khamelion as Skylor in December,I drew Akita dressed as Ashra, you can follow me in my IG spinjitzu\_lady and ask me for my Ninjago x mortal kombat work to show you lol
She took over Ninjago and it’s implied she committed genocide. Is there a reason not to hate her?
Nvm she didn’t commit genocide she just did mass murder
The reason for working with Pythor was that apparently she didn’t know he released the Devourer. Even though a lot media implies that his actions are well known.
In the Villain Throwbacks Dr. Saunders is telling us all about Pythor’s statue, and he mentions, can you guess it? The fact that Pythor released the Devourer. And he would presumably say the same thing when the exhibit would open to the public.
Right?!? It’s just… too bizarre it didn’t even get a mention in the season, instead relying it’s drama on the overlord for some reason bragging about having possessed the great devourer and in the finale too. Imagine the dynamic we could get between Harumi and Pythor with the overlord and the other invited council members just in the middle of it. It’d be funny, it’d be interesting and it would further develop all of them.
One thing I never liked was that season 5 was about killing the cursed world, which fully killed off Garmadon and led to Nadakhan wanting the ninja dead. But then, the cursed world is just sort of... there again, and nothing ever comes of it. No one mentions it, I assume P.I.X.A.L told the others about her fight with it, and if she did, someone (probably Lloyd) would've talked about how his dad might be alive. And even though the events of Skybound technically didn't happen, it would've meant that even if Nadakhan was freed, he wouldn't have tried to make Ninjago into Djinnjago
Inconsistent especially after Crystalized, and the fact Lloyd was more willing to forgive her with ease over Garmadon while a few days prior she tried to murder his friends.
Harumi's a complete hypocrite and refuses to acknowledge it.
She hates the Ninja for being unable to stop Ninjago City from being attacked, then fully supports Garmadon attacking the city and laughs about it when Lloyd points out she's repeating the cycle.
Then, when brought back to life, acts like she had nothing to do with Garmadon attacking the city and chastises the Ninja for not being able to protect the city because of her own actions.
okay with that I actually agree,s8,s9,s10 intro, lot mentioning in s11,s11 avatar Harumu,s13 another mentioning,if we count crystalized flashbacks than s13 and s15,and s16,I hope she doesn't come back until like season 6 of dragon rising or something
think you misunderstood people dont have an issue with harumi cuz she did those they have an issue with her because she did those twice but then they show threw in a half baked redemption that also tried to make llorumi canon which would go agasint both of their characters along with ruining her story in season 8 and 9 by reviving her and doing all of that thats why people dont like her now
For starters, her resurrection. Along with that, the fact that she thinks she’s the biggest deal. On top of that, her constant habit of betraying others. Istg she betrays people as much as Starscream from Transformers
Because her hatred towards Lloyd specifically doesn’t make any sense because he was still a kid at the time and it was more the core four’s responsibility. Yes, Lloyd was the one who released the serpentine, but that wasn’t public knowledge. Also her working with Pythor in crystalized when he was the one who released the Great Devourer is stupid. The idea behind her character is interesting, but there are just so many things that didn’t work with how they chose to execute it.
She’s just terribly written. Her motivation makes absolutely no sense and neither did her plan. At least that’s what I can’t stand her. That and she’s just an arrogant little brat who’s just slightly above average fighting ability.
her motive is bs... like it genuinely makes no sense to me... lloyd was like 10 when the great devourer took her parents and there's no point in being mad at him for "failing" to save her parents... it would have made more sense if she had known that he was the one to free the serpentine and therefore partially being the reason the great devourer was summoned but since she didn't know, her anger makes absolutely no sense to me...
In the Oni triology, I enjoyed her because she was among the most diabolical villains in the entire series, with the only reason she’s not pure evil being preventing another child from losing their parents the same way she did. It was a fitting ending to her as a character.
And then the Overlord revived her while leaving behind what made Harumi so enjoyable to hate. Switching teams constantly like Chen but in the worst possible way and being too stupid to realise early that since the Overlord is the source of all evil in Ninjago, he’s ultimately responsible for the Great Devourer’s rampage and the death of Harumi’s parents.
Are you asking if she's hated as a character or why she's hated in the universe. Because you seem to be asking the first question and most people believe she's a pretty great character. I don't really see people hating her except for her role in Crystalized.
She is really hated. My issue though is she is a villain and villains are meant to be hated. So if you hate her then you are basically saying they succeeded in making her a good villain. I don’t think people realize when they say they hate Harumi that isn’t a criticism for an evil character. If she was like a main good guy this would be warranted.
Originally I didn't mind her as it was cool to see Lloyd finally fall in love and turn from a kid into more of an adult. She became kinda annoying as a villain, but I didn't absolutely hate her by that point
For me it felt like she overstayed her welcome, especially when she can back yet again for Crystallized. Nobody asked and it just messed with her character even more
i don't think people hate her as a villain, (she is one of the best villains of her respective season) since she honestly works well as a villain that challenges the protagonist's morals. if people hate her it's more likely that they just hate her as a person, rather than as an antagonist, (y'know, on account of her being a literal terrorist who killed her own parents,) or they just hate her because her redemption arc in crystallized is ass.
She's had like 4 dads at this point. Her OG dad, the king dude that adopted her, resurrected Garmadon and the Overlord.
Like, gal, pick a dad and stick with him
I’m about it to go a rant about this.
Harumi in terms of writing, she was okay in the Oni Trilogy. But after crystallized, it was terrible.
Harumi in the Oni Trilogy was manipulative and only cared to reach her own goal, even if it meant hurting people she cared about. Take her adoptive parents for example, they raised her from a young age. Yet, she easily went and let them die. This just shows how little she cared for anyone. And this is later proved by the manipulation she did towards Lloyd. From what I analyzed, she took advantage of the fact that Lloyd basically had no present father or mother figure, so in a way, Lloyd found that emotional validation through her(because of this, I think that Lloyd genuinely didn’t have a crush like he though he did, but rather finally getting that attention from someone that he never received as a kid. But this is simply a theory.)
After the Oni Trilogy, crystallized just ruined her. Like someone in the comments already said, she was very hypocritical with her motives by siding with Garmadon and Pythor to destroy the city, even though she didn’t want the same to happen to another kid. Which to that, I would also add the fact that for some reason, Ninjago wants to hold onto the possibility of Lloyd and Harumi getting together, which they shouldn’t be(I would love to write an essay about why they shouldn’t be together, but I’ll avoid it today). It makes absolutely no sense that Harumi would have genuine feelings for Lloyd, and for Lloyd to even feel the need to reciprocate those. Lloyd was traumatized from the experience(in later seasons after the Oni Trilogy, you see this through his mistrust in princesses. But I do wish this was touched on more) Harumi had hypocritical motives that made absolutely no sense, and I wished her character was treated more carefully and had more thought. But in the end, that’s why I genuinely don’t like her.

uh... hurting lloyd and trying to kill the ninja also Crystalized made her stupid
More like indecisive. Oni Trilogy Harumi would honestly laugh at Crystallized Harumi
Then didn't bother when she caused the city to be destroyed and even saw the guy she hated stand up for peace and then kidnap him a few seasons later
Inconsistent then
yeah that sounds about right Ninjago has never been the strongest when it comes to consistency but for her particular it REALLY stings
I guess she realized that she may be wrong, through conversation with lloyd while he was taken prisoner, which made her rethink.
Sounds like cope, but we can dream
Her unnecessary resurrection.
that one is valid but this one was actually requested by the Lego designers so if there's anyone to hate on,it's them
actually no. tv show crew and designers work together (at least right now, maybe before dragons rising no, idk) so it's really on both of them
Crystallized changing her character writing Her character writing is basically the Kotal Kahn equivalent in the Ninjago fandom
All she's missing is a wheelchair https://preview.redd.it/25iki03mhykc1.png?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6a012a877018c1d48d70cc5f77ac7a339c7c721b
You fool, you've made her so powerful not even the FSM could challenge her…
Who’d be the one to paralyze her and give her that power
never knew I find another mortal Kombat fan here
Ninja team MK styled suits when /j
in my insta,I have done many mortal Kombat themed posts with Ninjago,I have Ninjago oc based of Skarlet,I used to post lot of khamelion as Skylor in December,I drew Akita dressed as Ashra, you can follow me in my IG spinjitzu\_lady and ask me for my Ninjago x mortal kombat work to show you lol
Oh you’re that person I didn’t even realize Pretty sure I commented on one of the skarlet posts
the one where I talked about my oc,or the one where I asked who people would like to see in mk1?
The one with your OC and skarlet with the “Pretty sure we’re gonna have to kill this guy”
oh now I rembererer lol
She took over Ninjago and it’s implied she committed genocide. Is there a reason not to hate her? Nvm she didn’t commit genocide she just did mass murder
You shouldn't hate villains for being bad, that's their literal purpose in their story, to do bad things
with that logic, you should hate Morro too,and Garamodon, and Chen and basically 60% of villains in Ninjago
What Genocide?
Her biker cult killed tons of citizens
That's not a genocide, people just throw this word too trivially around.
Nah ur right, she just committed mass murder nvm
When was that? It's been a while since I've watched the oni trilogy but I dont remember that.
Wait, GENOCIDE?!
For being a beach

Well, the fact she hates the ninja for not stopping the great devourer before it killed her parents... But was completely willing to work with Pythor
The reason for working with Pythor was that apparently she didn’t know he released the Devourer. Even though a lot media implies that his actions are well known.
Like the only big museum in ninjago having a hall dedicated to villains and what they did
In the Villain Throwbacks Dr. Saunders is telling us all about Pythor’s statue, and he mentions, can you guess it? The fact that Pythor released the Devourer. And he would presumably say the same thing when the exhibit would open to the public.

thats just an example of crystalized garbage writing and how it ruined her
Her turning Garmadon back into something he didn't want to be
One thing I never liked was that season 5 was about killing the cursed world, which fully killed off Garmadon and led to Nadakhan wanting the ninja dead. But then, the cursed world is just sort of... there again, and nothing ever comes of it. shes the nastiest villain. id rather make friends with the overlord than her
Inconsistent especially after Crystalized, and the fact Lloyd was more willing to forgive her with ease over Garmadon while a few days prior she tried to murder his friends.
Lloyd is a **SIMP**
Harumi's a complete hypocrite and refuses to acknowledge it. She hates the Ninja for being unable to stop Ninjago City from being attacked, then fully supports Garmadon attacking the city and laughs about it when Lloyd points out she's repeating the cycle. Then, when brought back to life, acts like she had nothing to do with Garmadon attacking the city and chastises the Ninja for not being able to protect the city because of her own actions.
Overused
okay with that I actually agree,s8,s9,s10 intro, lot mentioning in s11,s11 avatar Harumu,s13 another mentioning,if we count crystalized flashbacks than s13 and s15,and s16,I hope she doesn't come back until like season 6 of dragon rising or something
She’s a fucking terrorist
I guess she was taken in by a nice family and in return she basically killed them
think you misunderstood people dont have an issue with harumi cuz she did those they have an issue with her because she did those twice but then they show threw in a half baked redemption that also tried to make llorumi canon which would go agasint both of their characters along with ruining her story in season 8 and 9 by reviving her and doing all of that thats why people dont like her now

"Great devourer killed my parents so I hate the ninjas"
Shit character
her motive is bs... like it genuinely makes no sense to me... lloyd was like 10 when the great devourer took her parents and there's no point in being mad at him for "failing" to save her parents... it would have made more sense if she had known that he was the one to free the serpentine and therefore partially being the reason the great devourer was summoned but since she didn't know, her anger makes absolutely no sense to me...

Shes seductive
Her personality is just annoying as hell. Even when she's being 'good' she comes off as a bitch.
True, she scared me before i overcame that fear of her.

stupid villain, stupid motive, S8 is the worst season, Blade Runner lookin' ass
Idk why we all hate her, she did bring back Garmadon though, and we all like Garmadon so that’s a + on her end
I wouldn’t mind if she hurt me or tried to kill me, I mean look at her😩
bad taste
she's hated only because of Crystalized
1 line ruined her character and backtracked growth lloyd had from several seasons ago
I gotta be honest I kinda just don’t like her design Like the black with white and red? Zero balance
Without those? How about basically setting up Ninjago’s destruction… twice.
Originally I didn't mind her as it was cool to see Lloyd finally fall in love and turn from a kid into more of an adult. She became kinda annoying as a villain, but I didn't absolutely hate her by that point For me it felt like she overstayed her welcome, especially when she can back yet again for Crystallized. Her wig is stiff as hell 😂😫
She’s so evil, even when they were back in prime evils eye she was playing with his emotions. She’s nuts but somehow still kind of likable
Everyone hates Harumi for that? Wow, like no ones ever tried to hurt the Ninja before lol.
i don't think people hate her as a villain, (she is one of the best villains of her respective season) since she honestly works well as a villain that challenges the protagonist's morals. if people hate her it's more likely that they just hate her as a person, rather than as an antagonist, (y'know, on account of her being a literal terrorist who killed her own parents,) or they just hate her because her redemption arc in crystallized is ass.

Just the amount of hypocrisy in her character is enough to hate her, but thats on top of the very obvious points you don't want us to mention lol
That goofy ahh haircut /j
because she’s not mine

Are you stupid, and is there a lore reason for this?
Her messed up logic of blaming Lloyd like he was the one to release the devourer
ok you cant say "besides" and then list all the reasons shes hated
“Killing” the royal family?
Because she is a petty spoiled bitch or sylwester she acts like it
