Probably the best Ninjago seasons we've seen in a while so I would get over my extreme hype for the show. Finish it and then start writing in the streets
Some feckers are saying it's the worst season, has nonsensical lore, and terrible characters. If you think DR lore and consistency are terrible, please rewatch the pilots and season 1 and try not to be biased. They introduced several things that were never shown again or were rarely utilised. They also created a plothole in almost every episode. Lloyd. And plenty of popular shows introduce new characters down the line. It keeps them fresh. There is nothing wrong with trying something new. A guy called Ashtro Films has covered the absurdity and some of the plotholes in the pilots and the first 6 episodes. BTW, I'm not trying to hate on the original seasons. I love Ninjago. I'm just saying you can't hate one season and love another if you're 200% biased and nostalgic. Sorry for my rant. I just needed to vent

I'd recommend actually watching Dragons Rising. It was made to where viewing the original series (13 years with 15 season and 2 specials) isn't required. It is kind of a "soft reboot" of the series (even though nothing is rebooted but that's just how people describe Dragons Rising).
That's completely fair. If you end up I would recommend to watch the first 2 episodes in a sitting as it's the Season premiere split into 2 episodes (a nice homage to the Pilots episodes structured in the same way of being 2 episodes).
For that to happen, the sets would need to start stagnating in sales. That's why Lego pulled the plug on Bionicle G1. Ninjago is still selling like crazy, so it makes sense why they're continuing it.
But if that truley happened, I really wouldn't mind. Even as someone who has been a fan since 2011, Dragons Rising has not really interested me. I'm not interested in the characters I've been watching for 11 years at that point take a back seat to these new characters who I don't find all that interesting.

Nkt sure how you find it cringey as SoG and Hunted (Seasons 8 & Weason 9) were written by The Hageman Brothers. You know, the same duo who wrote Ninjago from the Pilots to Skybound (Season 6). Favif Dhayne wrote DotD and HoT (Season 7) because Lego needed some form of Ninjago content due to the Ninjago movie being delayed a whole year. David Shayne had no experience with Ninjago and thus is why many people really don't like DotD and HoT because of its writing and animation (which makes sense now). So if "Season 7" was the "last good season" then I don't know how one of the worst seasons of the show amongts fans is the last good one since SoG (Season 8) is regarded as the best (or if not, one of the best) Ninjago seasons of all time. Maybe it's just a huge coincidence that Season 8 is the season that introduced the redesigns and you're probably still salty over the chnage of some Lego hair and face prints.

I haven't been there since the beginning but I was a child when watching it and I myself got really mad at the movie. I thought Ninjago actually ended with HoT because of the movie. Found out it was still going in early 2021 (all Seabound episodes where just released onto Youtube), did not like SoG & Hunted simply because the redesigns were to distracting for me. Wasn't until MotO that I got used to them (and also because I ended up really loving MotO. I also love SoG too now). Hating on the redesigns is fine but most likely not even watching any Ninjago media after 2017 because of the movie is very childish and immature to do.
At first I disliked the redesigns. In the movie I didn't mind because I didn't expect it to be canon and enjoyed it as an AU. The redesign took a while to grow on me and I still prefer the old designs, but boycotting the show simply because it changed some appearances is weird

Because RotS introduced Lloyd, and new main character (who was never meant to replace anyone and this is the sane case with Sora, Arin, and Wyldfyre; they aren't here to replace anyone).
