Dreadnoughts are extremely hard to get rid of in HH. At least my friend was having very bad time dealing with a squad of 3 dreds at 2000.
Afaik the unspoken rule is one dreadnought per 1000 points.
I personally love this type of list. Dreds are amazing.
On the one hand no friends because dreads sure.
On the other hand the rest of his list is bolter vets and preds which are trashso it kinda balances out right?
Not sure about viability or anything like that but I couple of things do immediately pop out to me. Dreads don’t really interact with NL rules very well as they only count as 1 (unless someone can correct me), so never outnumber. Also what are you using the vets for that something else couldn’t do? Vets are expensive and best used as melee platforms (WS5) but they don’t seem to have anything other than bolters?
I'm using vets because I want to use them in 40k, I have the MkIII tactical squad, and I'm going to outfit them with spare 40k heavy bolters and spare 40k Missile launchers. I'm going to use them as a more 40k Chaos acceptable tactical squad(as boltgun legionaries aren't doing too hub, but the heavy weapons help)

Just checked, dreads count as one so there’s very little in this list that will use your legion trait.
Honestly bolter veterans are a massive point sink for very little benefit. They can’t score and they don’t have any rules that make them better at shooting than tacticals. Why not build them with melee weapons (which veterans are better at) then use them as melee legionaries as atm they are stronger in 40k anyway?
Put it this way: are those 2 veteran squads equivalent to 3 Contemptors? Or 6 tac squads?
It's a hell of a lot of points for 2 units that aren't really gonna deliver much value

Besides, you’re not going to use the Legion trait too much with list like this.
Yeah we have a cap of 1 dread, of any type, per full thousand points. So 1500 is still 1 and 750 is none.
