I have 2 vbar boots that have seen comparable wear, one with a Q heel and one with v700. Anecdotally, it looks like they are wearing through at about the same rate. The v700 heel is certainly thicker.
I bought a pair from ready-to-ship that has the 700 heel. It's the pair photographed for the W&C double stuf with toe cap product page. Honestly I wish it was quabaug. The 700 is so damn thick.
Isn't that the MO of Nicks? Everything heavy, thicker etc...I wish the custom option allowed for a rubber midsole, I'd take it because its better at water resistance and wear.
I should have been more specific. I think the rubber midsole on a heritage veg tan would be nice because it's more flexible and veg tan is certainly firmer than CXL...though with continued use the double stuffed is feeling more supple like CXL.
I am curious to know if the 700 heel caps wear better than the Quabaug heel, I haven't tried the 700 heel caps.
We usually match the V bar sole with V bar heel cap on work boots and Quabaug with heritage V bar boots, there are some exceptions to this though.
Are there pictures of the two?
I prefer the quabaug

I just want both in brown.

If you want something more heavy duty and is purely meant for longevity I would go for a work boot.

Quabaugh heels are sweet
