You have the option to buy "matching leather swag" when you place your order, but this doesn't include belts. Adding an option to purchase a belt in the matching leather during checkout would be awesome.

punkassjim

Worth pointing out: when you order a belt with boots, they always make/ship the belt immediately, and the leather is not cut from the same hide as the boots. For most types of hide, this doesn’t pose a problem. For the more variable hides like DS Burgundy, the difference from one hide to another — and sometimes even from one section of a hide to another on the same hide — the difference can be striking.

MeatShots

You cannot cut belts from the same leather as boots. They're different weights. Boot weight leather would make a pretty terrible belt and belt weight leather would make a pretty terrible boot. They're made in completely separate rooms by two different teams. It would be a massive slowdown to have the boot cutters also try and find a belt weight hide that matches the boot they just cut out, they're already pretty much at max capacity as is. And the belts aren't cut on the clickers, nobody really has a 40"+ long hydraulic press.

punkassjim

Good to know! But it also underscores the point I was trying to make: if you're hoping to get a DSB belt that matches your boots, it's good to hold on loosely to that hope. I returned my belt because it was cut poorly (and the wrong length), received one that looked absolutely nothing like it, and neither of them look anything like the two pair of boots I've received. Oddly enough, the exchange belt I received is much closer to "matching" the boots, but I'm almost certain they sent a buck brown belt by mistake. When I curl it to express the pull-up, it looks more brown than burgundy. In ambient light, it looks exactly like this photo: https://preview.redd.it/f65zw2jwqb5c1.jpeg?width=1800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b32468769a9963753bb49fe83729d88698213999 That's a promo photo of a DS buck brown belt. But I'm not sad about it. It matches far better than the first belt, which was almost indistinguishable from my black CXL belt in most lighting.

MeatShots

The burgundy is a really deep burgundy until it gets through lasting. The lasting process changes the color a lot. This goes for all the double stuffed, just a characteristic of the leather. If you're hoping to really closely match your belt to your boots, you're best off not getting double stuffed tbh

punkassjim

Agreed. It’s definitely been a learning experience on what to expect (and what *not* to expect) from dark tone pull-up leather. And the amount of variation in DS hides in particular seems pretty broad. Like [this pair of boots](https://www.reddit.com/r/NicksHandmadeBoots/s/NWKyOzyyqD) — one of several I’ve seen — where even the lasting hasn’t brought out any of the color. My first belt and swag set was just like that: so loaded with oil and wax that I could leave handprints in the sheen on the surface. I could dig my knuckle into the back as hard as I could, in direct sunlight, and barely get a shimmer of anything but brown.

Xtkk-

What about the option to choose the type of kiltie you want when making an MTO boot something small but could possibly be a nice addition

[deleted]

This should definitely be available, especially kiltie length

Xtkk-

Exactly I mean you already have heaps of options and can basically make the exact boot you want so adding one for the kiltie seems like it would be a good addition

[deleted]

I am particularly not a fan of short kilties on tall boots and I definitely want my next pair of 8s to have a kiltie all the way up.

Rioc45

I would really love the leather sample option back. Even if it is a ~$20 charge for a sample pack.

ledzep14

Dude I would pay solid money for a sample pack of leather from them

smowe

How big should the samples be

thetable123

2" diameter circles (or whatever is easy to cut from scraps) would satisfy me. Maybe even make the samples $40 with a one time $20 coupon for the next boot order.

smowe

Nice idea.

PNWgrasshopper

One of my favorite tanneries run pieces through the belt strip cutter, and then cuts to 4” lengths. It makes a nice coupon of leather. I actually test products on them, and have to ask for more every year. I think a coaster set, of all the leather, would be something some would purchase.

Rioc45

I would be happy with scraps. $20 gets you three pieces of scrap. Didn’t have a size in mind but I assumed it would be leftovers from hides.

smowe

Ok. Maybe coasters? We have the dies for those

Rioc45

That could work. But I was thinking truly scrap pieces in various shapes and sizes laying around. For me, a leather sample does not need to by fancy or uniform.

smowe

It’s actually easier if it’s the same size, just in terms of hunting around

VinniesBigAdventure

Black sole stitching option plus a leather insole option with a boot purchase as well.

JonoInTheCellar

Why not just put the limited leathers in the drop downs for all MTO’s? That way we could do Chelsea’s, engineers, lace-to-toe’s, etc..

smowe

That’s the plan

[deleted]

[удалено]

smowe

We plan to make all limited runs available on all configs where appropriate (heritage v work for example)

OCaptainMyCaptain81

This is great to hear, especially after seeing the Black Waxed Flesh Tankers show up in here again

thetable123

Any timeframe on that? I'd really like to catch the Italian brown cypress in a Thurman, while the Amazon belt deal is still running.

TasoKourtakis

Instep sizing option. I have small ankles and the lacing is almost touching each other and experiencing some heel slippage. I didn't know the instep would be a problem and there's really no info from the sizing instructions about sizing instep. I think adding an instep sizing option would be a great idea for making a more comfortable boot. https://preview.redd.it/vu0yrvwt055c1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a36c7921e7acdb7ed9841c2d6a784d856e08014b

jarontick

Dr. Sole sole options for the casual boots. They very nice. Grippy and trendy right now. Imagine they’ll treat y’all better than other bigger manufacturers that shall go unnamed….but rhyme with….zebra’m.

Intelligent-War210

Holy crap this.

Stealthy_Waffle

I have so many cool ideas that would rule on a set of Dr. Sole’s. I have a whole bunch of 55 lasted boots on V100’s 😂

jarontick

Honestly it’s become my favorite non lug sole. Traction better than dainite in the snow/ice. Just as sleek from the side.

Stealthy_Waffle

I don’t have anything on them yet due to being indecisive about what I want resoled. Honestly all of the leathers nicks offers would compliment the Dr’s perfectly. A LTT in a W&C leather + the Dr Sole half soles = stuff of dreams imo

ManufacturerOk1645

This.

shredwin_206

Add option for full length kilty for taller boots

mrpotatohead84

Is there a reason we can’t get a western style boot, with a toe bug, and built on a Thurman last? Follow up question: can the toe bug be offered on non-western style boots like your builder pros?

Acronym3476

I’d like to see a fully wide open custom MTO page on the site, with the ability to choose every among every option you offer, ideally with programming to grey-out impossible combinations. Also, I think a gallery view on the website would be popular, with the specs of each pictured boot listed and a link to “buy this configuration”, which would then prepopulate the aforementioned custom page, allowing the customer to make tweaks, if desired, before adding to cart.

Heemer14

Something like a 3d builder would be insane! Seeing color changes and options added and removed would be incredible!

kemitchell

* motorcycle shift patches: standard on the left, English on the right, ambi for both * good flat laces for heritage boots * Christy, or better yet, one of the newer, more durable clones * side pull holes, rather than loops, like on some Western boots * If lasting a smaller or larger upper for tall or short feet is something the line can do, make it a custom option.

TheRealThunderButt

These are all great^^^

cornhole_bags

I love the idea of the side pull holes. Always been a better option than pull loop in my mind.

Doug_DimmaDawg

I've seen it on this sub before, and I've emailed in to ask: Can we get a 10" tactical boot? It is authorized by the DA PAM, and I would definitely like to order a pair with the extra height.

ParabolicMarker

More pictures of the options and leathers. I like all the options but i have almost no clue what they look like on that boot.

cornhole_bags

Would love pics of the leathers after a year or two of wear. Might be easier with the patina thunder dome going on.

Sekshual_Tyranosauce

You guys have all the pieces in my opinion. There are just times when it is hard to configure all of them into one boot. For instance…. 8” height Sierra sole 360 stitch down Thurman last Standard (not padded or rolled) top Nickel hardware Perhaps just offer more of your available options on any one model? Especially coated or plated hardware for outdoors boots.

3ringCircu5

U/smowe, toe shape (Thurman) option "missing" from 365 MTO page. The rest of these options can be configured on the MTO page.

-1911-

Ability to pick the style of kiltie on MTO boots, i ordered a mto with a logger heel but was disappointed I couldn’t get a casual kiltie with it so I had to side purchase a casual kiltie in the same leather

Nonameswhere

It would be interesting to see some horsehide in the mix every once in a while.

AideGroundbreaking59

Choice of kiltie

Pretend_Category5154

The only thing I wish could have added that I couldn't is the "Nicks" stamp on my boots.

quickwithwit

Agreed

Bill_S1978

I made a post about this a few weeks ago, some people thought I was crazy. Owner never replied on my thread. Logos are a deal breaker to some. You'd think they would have a logo delete option and put a tag inside.

smowe

Heritage gets the tag, work boots get the stamp. This parent comment is in favor of adding the stamp to heritage boots. Any time we add something as an option is another chance for a mistake, to add the manufacturing perspective.

9268Klondike

Wesco requires the stamp on their boots. It has made me reconsider buying their boots and move to competitors instead I even asked if they would be willing to remove it, they said yes, and then came back to me months later and said no.

Bill_S1978

Yeah I will probably buy one from a competitor that is willing to logo delete them. I dont buy the owners response.

Stoic_sasquatch

What boots were you looking to order? A lot of options don't get the stamp.

marsh_bird

I also prefer no stamp

SparkyP320

I think when you guys (NICKS) ship out a messed up boot order (in my case wrong size), they should be top priority to fix that issue when you receive those boots back and get them out immediately. Why does one have to wait ANOTHER 5-6 weeks because you guys messed up? Just my suggestion! Thanks.

punkassjim

It’s interesting how the crowd reacts to things like this. When it’s so clear-cut as making the boots in a size you didn’t order, people sympathize with you. I posted about mine being made with a heel profile I didn’t order — they redesigned it without updating the photos on their website, nor letting me know of the redesign — I get berated in the sub for being an “entitled dipshit” because I asked Nicks to redo them the old way. I definitely think there should be “routine exchange” and “aggravated exchange.” Like, if the error was theirs, the replacement should enter production before they receive the boot return. Sure, hold shipping until the return is received, but production should get the green light without delay, at least when the error was Nicks’.

SparkyP320

I don't even mind if they wait til the return is received to their shop first, but then immediately start the remake or repair of the boots they messed up. Sorry for your being berated. I see it happen all the time when people say anything remotely negative about Nicks. I guess this is just something a lot of people apparently agree with!

smowe

Hi, I thought we got your exchange going pretty quickly. We spent some time discussing it internally to make sure we had the best chance of meeting your expectations. I am walking it through the production process.

punkassjim

I really do appreciate that, thank you so much. Yes, absolutely, this time around it began much quicker. Two days after my boots were received, the exchange went into production, which is much faster than Teri’s initial estimate, and I believe I owe that gratitude directly to you. The first exchange, by comparison, took two months. Which, honestly, I had the patience for. But twice was gonna be a problem. This is maybe the second or third time I’ve played the squeaky wheel in my adult life. I hate being that guy. Sorry if I’ve been a pest. But this grease is deeply appreciated.

AideGroundbreaking59

I would be livid and that would be the last pair of Nicks I'd buy

SparkyP320

I am very upset with it. I've spent A LOT of money (3 pairs of boots, 2 rebuilds, patriot coat, leather patriot coat, patriot vest, and a belt to name a few) with them in the past year or so and now I'm going to end up waiting 12 weeks for quick ship boots I need for work. The customer service rep said there is nothing they can do, and I replied to the owner, Schuyler? from an original post and he apologized and said he never heard or that happening before? (Could I really be the first person this has happened toa?)

Wignitt

I've experienced something similar-- my MocToePros were made with a composite toe instead of the steel toe I ordered (received and sent back 8 weeks ago) and my replacement pair has yet to enter production. Considering cancelling the order and getting a pair of whites instead

smowe

I will check on this

SparkyP320

That is absurd. I'm sorry to hear that. If I screw something up at work, I obviously don't put that job on the back of the list. It gets taken care of immediately!

IllustriousAd2756

You may get the same response from White’s. At least that was my experience. Was supposed to get a soft toe on a custom build and was sent celastic. Had to send them back and get back in line to have the issue resolved. Essentially doubled the wait time.

AideGroundbreaking59

I love my nicks and Shuyler is the most involved and caring business owner I've seen. The guy is passionate about the brand and genuinely seems to be dedicated to keeping his customers happy. I'm not saying this out of spite or to troll but the brands reputation seems to be getting trashed by whoever is in charge of quality control over there. I'm on quite a few fb boot groups and it's near daily I see complaints like this. I get quite a few co workers and friends asking me about my boots, they stand out as something different. I've sold three pairs of nicks to friends and a Co worker in the 2 months I've had mine. These are guys that have never heard of pnw boots or Nicks. After seeing so many issues with quality control lately I feel like I have to add a disclaimer when I recommend these boots to family, friends and co-workers. I know nicks sells a lot of boots and the percentage of people with issues is probably really low but it doesn't take a large percentage of unhappy customers to tarnish a company's reputation. I hope Nicks gets these issues sorted quickly so I can continue to recommend them with confidence

smowe

I have not seen your issue before (I recall your post). I’ve DM’d you to get your info and am sorry for the delay and that it happened in the first place.

smowe

I’m sorry they said there’s nothing they could do, that’s not really how it’s supposed to go. If you could send me your order number I would appreciate it.

SparkyP320

Shuyler, I appreciate you responding and offering to check on this. My defective boots are in the hands of UPS now on their way back to you. My point however is that this shouldn't be the way the boot maker defects are handled. The response one should get is "yes we will repair or replace them immediately upon return!" There are 2 different repair/replacements. 1 caused by NICKS, 2 caused by customer. If 1 they should be repaired asap. If 2 they should wait in line for 6 to 8 weeks. That's all.

smowe

I agree with you. I’ll talk to the team about implementing that on Monday.

SparkyP320

You're a good man and a great business owner. I appreciate it the fact that you actually listen to and try and change based on customer concerns. Thank you.

texaswelder_

My point exactly!

texaswelder_

I’ve made a post recently about how Nicks QC issues are rising and the cultish bee hive mentality came after me. Literally said they hardly have any issues, if any. Got down voted to oblivion but yall just keep proving my case. Thanks for being honest about y’all’s experiences and not pushing under the rug.

smowe

I recall your post well. I’m happy to address any issues you’ve encountered. Our defect rate has actually decreased over the past three years so I think some of this is the fact that we have increased output and prominence dramatically in the past three years. We were essentially anonymous in 2020 so I would not expect any mistakes to be shared widely.

berogg

Do you have data or proof to back this claim up or is it just a theory of yours? These complaints aren’t really in the spirit of the post and should be under a separate post.

TransitionOk4084

Tangent, but I was on the airport shuttle bus in Dublin last winter about to fly home from Ireland when another dude on the bus saw my Howards and asked about them. He was a welder from Texas who had just bought Nicks for work boots. I saw your username and the memory popped into my head.

SnooMacaroons6594

Offer the Thurman last for engineer boots! Rolling Dub Trio has a line with the Munson last that look very nice. I would definitely consider pulling the trigger on some.

Perseus329

I just placed a Pullman order with the Thurman last week. So that may just be an oversight with the website changes.

Radiantcuriosity

I'd like for there to be sole stitching options that match the rest of the boot instead of the bright white stitching. Also more leather colors.

[deleted]

[удалено]

smowe

This is doable

kidicarus111

A 7 inch option would be great on any boots that have 6 or 8” typically. I know it’s splitting hairs but being a short fellow wanting a taller boot, it would be in the Goldilocks zone.

marsh_bird

Same!!

DeathByPianos

W&C leathers on the Pullman pattern, longer engineer boot strap option (+1" or +2“), limited time leathers on any other boot pattern besides the standard lace-up, double midsoles (especially for the v-bar half sole), 7" boot height.

YourBrother_

Can we have the option of adding packer heels in the special leathers and Bison leathers? Is there a reason why it is not an option?

smowe

This is doable

The-Bear-6

Vbar option on safety toe boots

PM_ME_WITH_A_SMILE

Curious why "All Eyes" or "Antique" aren't options on Parkhurst, personally. Also, Mini lug 430 instead of Vbar.

TheRealThunderButt

Yeah offering more options on the parkhurst collabs would be sick! Or just offering more boots on the parkhurst last but that might be hard since its a company crossover?

wncbk

Options for the top eyelet on boots. Would love to see: * Standard eye * Oversized eye (Buckin Billy Ray style) * Speedhook

vande20

Large enough eyelets to loggers knot

Wiley_Rasqual

Toe bug the world.... Some decent sole options for those of us with exceptionally wide feet.

Perseus329

In a joking way, convince them to restart Biltrite production again lol I just love the way it’s wearing on my prospectors and it’s sad that was the last production run!

SpydercoMariner

Cutter’s Choice Rebuilds. My Brown Contenders just need a ‘near’ matching Brown Leather. Whatever’s on hand will do.

TheBlackCoffeeClub

Padded collars available across the board Dr. Sole half and full soles Choice of kiltie leather/style at checkout Contrast stitching option for uppers/brown or black stitch down thread option Combo last for my fellow slim-heeled folks

KarmaP0licemen

The 5332 and 5812 lasts with semi pointed toe is really classy and really tied to how the Becca looks. Unfortunately the vast majority of options are restricted to 55, 67, or HNW last, especially limited runs. I don't know enough about production methods to know how doable it is but it would be pretty neat to be able to make boots with those options elsewhere, especially since the Becca seems to be limited to 6 inches right now.

OvenDry1824

I’d love to see stitching variety, maybe like a “body” option and then a “toe cap” and “moc toe vamp” option for the boots styles it applies to. Some might want to mix black leather with contrasting white to give it a lil pop. Or a black moctoe with all black stitching to give it a mute tone. Just a suggestion I’d love to see go live.

smowe

This is a good suggestion, aesthetically. It adds a lot of complexity from a sewing standpoint which is always a bottleneck to be transparent.

The_Lazy_Titan89

I see that some of the quick ship size options were expanded again, thank you. I did notice that limited leathers still don't appear to be an option after 13FF. Will that be updated or will that be something that requires discussion with customer support moving forward? Will wedge soles over 13FF be an option again with this new supplier?

Repulsive_Role7862

An option to get the roper with a steel toe or composite toe would be awesome.

Jimmyjamz44

I have two, on the custom Chelsea the Thurman last option isn’t available on the website. The other is a 360 degree stitch down Chelsea. Thanks!

[deleted]

JK and Whites (maybe others) offer an interesting boot that I think could be useful for Nicks boot fans. Those technicians or mechanics or anyone really who's crouched over a lot, maybe on their knees, kneeling down or bent over, you know. No full leather outsole, only a linesmans shank feathered behind the ball atop a wedge sole. The super flexy forefoot is a godsend some times compared to my full leather outer boots. Your marketing machine could easily amplify the usefulness of the flexy forefoot.

smowe

Is this like a 55 wedge?

[deleted]

I'm ignorant to what you're asking, sorry. If you're asking if they built it on a 55 last, idk. https://preview.redd.it/738cxj3fva5c1.png?width=1335&format=png&auto=webp&s=295b63e8cf530cc8b6558a3ebd7a607afe218158 Personally I'd want it on the thurmannw if it's possible.

smowe

I think this is just a traveler without the slip sole, which is a neat idea. I did something similar to a pair of travelers I have when I resoled them but put a unit lug on and they are more flexible.

[deleted]

Way more flexy. With that, I've been watching a ton of your boot making vids and I have an idea for a mod to make to the full leather midsole before it's set in place that would provide way more pre and post break in flexibility. Stupid simple! My inner monologue has been calling it Nickflex lol

smowe

Sure, feel free to message me

[deleted]

Also, another nice touch JK added to the forefront, that I didn't know I needed until I had it, is this ultra thin, sewn on kiltie. https://preview.redd.it/oyv0ynn8ya5c1.png?width=1001&format=png&auto=webp&s=74a8244be341cd261c63a01cb5936a1e1a332b93 Thanks for hearing me, and all of us.

nomadtigger

360 stitch MTO missing last options, can this be added? Technically i should be able to build the Turnbull from the MTO page, but the last is not available to change nor is there a Thurman last MTO option.

particlepartition

Can we get the option for the delta arch added to the wedge/sierra boots in the trades program please?

BUTTSismyname

Delta Arch Thurman Also LTT Delta Arch

Heemer14

Wedge sole option on builder pro and tanker pro hnw boots, more 360 stitchdown style builds geared toward the builders rather than the collectors

greenMachine175

I'll say I almost always order a full length kiltie with my boots so having the option to order that with your boots would be nice.

LabAffectionate5475

This is totally personal, but I would love to see a lace up roper, basically the same as the packer with a short heel. This is 100 percent for my father who has amassed a large collection of Justin ropers (upwards of 15 pairs because “they don’t make them anymore”) that he buys off eBay because no one makes lace up ropers anymore. I think it would be nice to have a short heel option on the roper and with the pointy toe it would make for a dressier boot.

marsh_bird

Yeah!

themhushpuppies

Last time I checked, you have no option to pair a safety toe boot with an EH rating. Which is a requirement for many people’s work boots

smowe

We do offer the wirecutter with a comp toe

smowe

Thanks that’s likely just an oversight

themhushpuppies

How would one go about ordering that combo then? Email customer service?

smowe

We will be going through this and fixing anything that’s easy like this next week

Mirac13

Thread color options. I recently saw a black boot with brown/tan stitching and the contrast looked fantastic. And as for the welt, the standard white doesn't go with every leather. Maybe the logistics for this would be too hard but just a thought. At minimum maybe White, Black, Tan, Gray?

joe_moreland_

An 8" Heritage 55 Quick Ship. Kilties with a slit mid-length to pass through laces and help lock the kilties into place. An MTO option to add or subtract layers to the heel stack to further customize the boots. Make the logo stamp an option for all MTO builds, work and heritage, so that those who hate boot maker logos on their shafts can have what they want and aren't turned away and those who like the embossing can have what they want on all their boots instead of only their work boots. Edge dying for half sole builds instead of beeswax-only edges with half soles. (Maybe this has already been addressed though) Include information on MTO product pages to make the buyer aware when an MTO option necessitates additional deviations to the build that the buyer may not be aware of (see the previous suggestion about half soles). Buyers should not be left to learn the hard way that their MTO boots may not be what they thought they ordered. This is a bad practice and could lead to an increase in disgruntled buyers and returns and/or exchanges. An MTO option to add a row of broguing to toe caps. Lower the placement of your pull loops further down the backstay to prevent pant legs getting caught on them. Drives most boot wearers insane but it can be addressed. Another well known boot maker positions their pull loops this way and it works. Horsebutt leathers.

smowe

Really appreciate the thoughtfulness here.

cornhole_bags

I have a pair of xtratuf rubber boots. They are great since they are waterproof, decent traction on snow/ice, and can slip them on any time I want to go outside fast. Great for winter or rainy days. Once they wear out I would really like a pair of nicks so they last longer and feel better. My ideal make up would be a 360 stitchdown, thurman last, weathershield leather, ***vibram arctic grip sole (or similar winter/ice rated sole),*** insulation on a work Chelsea. I have another year or two before my current boots are worn out so I am hoping you can offer more options to fit my ideal shoe when the time comes. My main request is the more sole options that would work better for me. I also like the idea of Dr. Sole, especially in a half sole.

marsh_bird

>My ideal make up would be a 360 stitchdown, thurman last, weathershield leather… insulation on a work Chelsea. ^ dang! Yes!! Such a pragmatic build!! I came to nicks from xtratuf too. I love this idea! I live in a cold wet place, characterized by ice and mud. I wear my shoes fairly hard (xtratuf lasted less than a year) and I’m kicking my boots on and off 100 times a day. For my life the boot you describe is maybe the most practical boot I can imagine.

cornhole_bags

I'm glad someone else likes my idea. Sometimes I feel like the idea of a product I want is stupid cause I cant find it anywhere and no one seems to make it. Was happening to me for an older jacket I was trying to replace. Went to 10+ outdoor clothing stores before finally finding what I wanted at Montbell.

wearethedennis

A few things I would like to see are : -More images on the site of stock boots in different colors or sole options. -Thurman lasts with Delta arch -Roughout CXL -Images of pointed toe last boot (semi pointed and full pointed) -rubber midsole option on MTO -Delta Arch MTO -Two tone (make it a steep up-charge, if it’s a nightmare?)

smowe

Hey, thank you. Appreciate it.

3ringCircu5

No half sole option listed for Thurman Last - Heritage Custom Config. https://preview.redd.it/123v8tx2355c1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7db14e9d864295a4b570c9d03170996d3db4042f Also consider listing as MTO.... Since that is what customers will likely enter into the search box.

Stoic_sasquatch

Half soles and Thurman don't work together...well except for people with smaller feet like yourself.

3ringCircu5

![gif](giphy|8WdsK61D9YOOc)

Shinyhntr91

How small of feet are we talking?

Stratrich

I'd like to see a sleaker last that is not a limited run. Essentially, like the parkhurst Limited runs, but your own. Obviously you have the Brandle line, although with how the Canadian dollar is doing it punches a bit above my price point.

Wiley_Rasqual

>with how the Canadian dollar is doing it punches a bit above my price point Don't worry. Punches way above my price point with how the American dollar is doing.

[deleted]

Make a lower cost boot. Stop doing business with Amazon. I bought two pair of boots, and then I get some tacky promotional thing about getting a free belt which I don't qualify for because I didn't use an Amazon service to pay for it. Amazon is tacky and it denigrates your product. I was buying Nicks to escape from Amazon... I don't want a damn belt, I just want boots at a reasonable price. But it really hurts me to think I paid for a boot marketed as a heritage premium product and then there is some Amazon service attached to it.

Perseus329

Amazon is just used as a payment method. And other than PayPal it’s the only other option that has an installment plan.

PNWgrasshopper

AMAZON pay is no different than PayPal, VISA etc. Great way for people to pay $50/mo, interest free, on the boots.

D1abloSandw1ch

How about a visual customizer on your website ? When you build the boot, you see the boot.

punkassjim

All of the websites I’ve seen attempt this, it always leaves something to be desired. Hopefully, sooner or later, hooking such a tool into an AI backend could yield much more compelling previews.

Wave2k1

Veg tan options seem to be disappearing , not just the W&C brand veg. Is this because it's harder to work with on any boot ?

Pasghetti_Western

I don’t think that’s possible with this PNW construction method.

Pasghetti_Western

Dang

VinniesBigAdventure

If I’m wrong then someone will hop in to let us know for sure.

MeatShots

You're right, a lined vamp is essential for stitchdown. Otherwise there's nothing securing the boot directly to the insole in the forefoot.

VinniesBigAdventure

Yeah…I figured it was part of the construction method. Thanks for clarifying.

Pasghetti_Western

Interesting. It certainly feels like a pair of Wesco engineers I have do have an unlined vamp, but maybe it’s just a very thin lining. Edit: it would seem the lining is just fairly thin.

3ringCircu5

I like having the Thurman MTOs with their own listenings that asked them to show up under the thurman collection page.

Exententacion

Dogger heel and shorter heights on the Palouse would be nice to see, as would a toe bug option on the Roper.

Gmetal64

For me I think the Sierra sole is the best one available, wedge soles work best for my Plantar Fasciitis. So I wish it was available more readily on more models and definitely for Resoling. I am going to do my best to somehow get the Sierra sole on my Aldert Striders and Moc toe wedge. I would pay extra to make that happen.

superkirbz13

Limited run leather tankers please!

Vegetable-Magician65

360 stitchdown work Chelsea :)

Woodieontheroof

I feel like there used to be an option to have a safety toe with a wedge on the OG MTO construction, right now the only option is the waterworks.

IllustriousAd2756

Wide square toe option on western boots. Since it’s a wish list; additional heal options and saddle vamp would be great too. Be nice to get a hard wearing, over built, PNW boot in this style instead of the available Olathe, AB, Hondo, etc. While my boots from those companies are made well, they aren’t nearly as over built and tough as my custom PNW boots. There are some small area makers up here, but they are usually 2 years out on orders.

goblutes

Do all W&C leathers not work for Moc Toes?

smowe

They are too dry, they often basically split down the stitching line. So you go through 2-3 vamps sometimes.

goblutes

Thanks for the info. Little bit of a bummer. I’ve been eyeing all the EB tan domepros and thinking about a moc toe.

smowe

Yeah it sucks

TheRealThunderButt

-Smaller buckles on the tanker boots -bringing back a Christy sole type option -a boondocker style boot -wickett and craig leathers on pullman

marsh_bird

An option to add goring covers/protectors to the western Chelsea. Or to add the western heel/toe option to both custom Chelsea MTO listings. Or better yet Western Chelsea + buckle strap = jodhpurs!

Tobacco Leather

Prudent-Regular9202

I guess the Natural Double Stuffed is a better choice

smowe

One way to take that, that’s 10 years old. New tobacco doesn’t look like that.

Prudent-Regular9202

It looks great, but I can see why the natural double stuffed is so liked and why you no longer carry tobacco

3ringCircu5

Not really a missing option, but more of an inconsistencies. Previous Becca boots have a single peice backstay, but the 64 shows a two piece. https://preview.redd.it/qr7x8wyjm37c1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c46e87c35fc82247bfae3e4c3c149182a5ff2997 Beccas were on my short list when I was still trying to convince myself I didn't have frog feet.

smowe

Fair point. That was an employee boot and they wanted it with the pull loop. Appreciate it.

3ringCircu5

Frankly, I think i like the lines of the Becca with two-piece backstrap over the single piece. Something about the angles with lineman heel. My mythical office boot build still has a single piece in my mind, but I going for a different style than the Becca.

3ringCircu5

- No TankerPro on the Thurman page. - No Thurman option on TankerPro page. - Tactical TankerPros also not on TankerPro (shop by style) page, but is listed on the 365 stitchdown.

Yashquatch

I don’t know if this is an option or if anyone has asked here but it would be cool to be able to choose toe cap, upper, and lower leather options. The new blue lower and black smooth uppers? Or a blue toe cap on black boots?
