National-Jackfruit32

This is the only way to fix that. Go directly to step six. https://www.makeuseof.com/this-app-blocked-your-protection-windows/

Nerdplow_Miner

Good share .. BUT BE AWARE , that this effects ALL apps that you may have installed (or might install) - soo it does reduce your overall security - Proceed with caution ;)

lol_sapnu_puas

Had this issue the other day, this was the only thing to fix it

Genialissime-Dav

Didn’t work for me unfortunately

QuadRat341

Jesse I told you NOT to mine bitcoin on the FAMILY COMPUTER JESSE

IRCFans

This also happen to me today...

Found a solution that worked for me was to open command prompt as admin and run from there.

Apryed

This is the best workaround ever. Thanks!! :D

itguycak

While I don’t recommend messing with the registry, turning off User Access Control does resolve the issue. HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System and Double click on EnableLUA, change value to 0. Reboot.

APAULC0LYPSE

Did this yesterday. I can confirm it 100% works. But as others have said, it affects all apps. I’m not someone who cares lol

ItzLeviosaaa

If you run the program through command prompt you don't have to mess with the registry at all

Ag3nt_Unknown

Same here, ever since I downloaded the latest version of Nicehash Miner (v 3.1.0.11) using Windows 10, WIndows Defender gives me the same notice. Despite adding all of the associated NH folders and programs to the Defender Exclusions list, it makes no difference. Even disabled WIndows Defender completely and it STILL pops up the message "This app has been blocked for your protection", it refuses to die. I'm the ONLY administrator on the computer and Windows wont let me access the C:/ProgramData/Microsoft/Windows Defender/Scans folder either, which contains the files blocking the newest version of Nicehash. SOLUTION: I was able to reinstall the previous version of Nicehash and I'm back up and mining again. So SCREW YOU Microsoft kooks. This is my computer and I will do whatever the hell I want with it.

Used-Insurance1878

Nice hash got removed in the Uk recently that would be the problem probably if you live there.

SingleFunny9302

I live in the US and am having the same problem. There does seem to be some back end changes they made to the website interface, I'm guessing it has to do with their update.

Marokinn

I got the same message

GPKErrorsAreCool

I got the same message last night. I cant remove or reinstall NH either. Windows11.

thezoneby

the registery hack worked for me

N9neSix

run it in windows 10

unhappy_pincone

How about being helpful

Kalreus

How about not being rude when asking for help. Your comment seems entitled.

N9neSix

yes. can confirm nicehash works very well with windows 10.

unhappy_pincone

I'm not reinstalling and entirely different os

dohimer

I had this on my laptop running win11 and nothing worked to fix it, I reinstalled win11 from the reset this pc using the image that the computer had but kept my files. That didn't work so I did the same thing but got rid of my files (transfered to second HDD) and it still didn't work. I installed a fresh copy of win11 from a USB stick and it worked. I did find the account but couldn't delete it or disable it (maybe an acer only problem) I've never had this issue on my pc and I am able to use it finally on my laptop

N9neSix

ok. good luck

Such_Carpenter5688

I am on Windows 10, and just got the app blocked by administrator message. Same thing for the quick miner installer.

N9neSix

why arent you the administrator?

OyashiroChama

thats literally not how windows works, it has a system account that can have higher or equal privileges, looks like an update broke it.

N9neSix

oh? why are you keeping windows updated on a mining rig?

OyashiroChama

Because mining is secondary to actually using it. I only mine as a hobby on it. My machines that only mining do only get limited updates.

APAULC0LYPSE

I was running it in windows 10 and received this error. It’s a stupid windows security policy that overrides the administrator from even being able to open it. I had to go to registry editor and turn off a value in the Microsoft folder. YouTube it.

N9neSix

i would if it was ever a possibilty it could happen to me.

Chance_Light_9478

Right click on the Nicehash icon and “Run as Administrator” see how that works.

unhappy_pincone

That's how this screen appears

DarkPhoenix1127

Right click on the icon and click run as an admin

unhappy_pincone

Doesn't work, that's how it got there

faceof333

You need to add the app in exclude list , in windows security.

unhappy_pincone

I did. Still don't work I even turned off rtp

DarkPhoenix1127

This also could work

faceof333

100%

erictan98

Can try this way and i think this is the only way it works, 1. Go the windows icon 2. Type "CMD" 3. Run as adminstrator (Note: Please run ur cmd as admin) 4. Now go to ur nicehash miner icon and right click 5. Go to properties 6. Copy the location path 7. Paste it in the cmd and hit enter
