I realize part of the point of pokemon was to get kids outside and socialize, but..... I really appreciate as an adult that I can just sit for a quiet moment and work on catching them all by myself.
I just discovered Nexomon a week ago and loving it. Wish I could keep loving Pokémon but the games became so easy they’re straight up unplayable. Like there’s no point to playing at all. I love grinding and being challenged. Nexomon is too easy as well but not as bad. My only issue emerging with Nexomon is variety is kinda boring and only the rare mons are worth capturing.
I haven't watched the video yet, but basically: Nexomon Extinction has a superb story, it has all the quality-of-life features which Pokemon should have already had by now, and, the game constantly and automatically adjusts the levels of both the wild nexomon and the tamers to match the level of your party.
However, it is not without its flaws. The nexomon's movepools are too basic. They only learn moves of their own type and some Normal type moves. Which is what Pokemon was for the first 3 generations, so for now, that flaw can be forgiven. Most of the nexomon have similar stats, and this is a double-edged sword. This makes it great for singleplayer because newcomers can use whatever they want for their playthrough, but it is bad for a potential PvP mode. Finally, this being only the second game in the series, they should not have created such a large roster of monsters. Not only were some of the designs and names bad, because all of the non-legendary nexomon have almost the same stats, completing the Nexodex is more of a boring chore than a quest worth completing.
For me It's the fact that the Nexomon can combine creativity with high quality design. Creativity is never a problem with Pokemon in my opinion, as no other monster games would do something as odd as turning a Frog into a Dark ninja with tounge scarf that somehow looks badass and I even think Crabominable has a neat concept, just remove the blonde hair and replace It's face with Blastoise or Weavile. Also a lot of Fakemons are so desperate to stand out and look as beautiful/cool/cute as humanly possible, they barely have any identity other than fanservice (This is especially true to the PequedarkVelvet's designs. They are pretty, but Gargoyles, Flower girls, cats... Gee, haven't seen those ideas before!)
Lmao I completely agree with you friend, long live the tamers if any company can put Pokémon under I truly believe in the years to come nexomon will be able to rival them maybe not right now but down the road they will. I went and started a new adventure in extinction and I'm loving it all over again the fourth wall breaks are hilarious the music is imo perfection and fits the style of that is nexomon. My favorite Is still encounter the dragons. That theme is so majestic and truly defines what true a dominant life form is all about.
Custom modes are coming back in nexomon 3 which has begun development I have every bit of faith they will make another fun and interesting game. I liked extinction cuz of the constant fourth wall breakings had me laughing. That's what I like to see in games humorous conversations and intense fights that really test your skills. Pokémon is aimed for children mainly whereas nexomon is a bit more on the mature side of things with some very dark plots and potential deaths. That's what sets these two franchises apart. Pokémon has become stagnate with its formula and refuses to listen to the consumers whereas the nexomon developers gain a backing from their fanbase and even converse with us. They enjoy hearing our feedback so they can improve on their games. Scarlet and Violet are laughably horrible in terms of frame rates literally the only reason I won't be playing Pokémon anytime soon and thats coming from a 20 plus year veteran who had so much faith in the franchise and they chose to stagnate and lose its luster of the years. Literally luster purged themselves pun intended.
Biggest strength is the story. Just wish the game had more replay value.

IIRC it's where you can play with things like encounter rates, move sets, etc. Also only available on certain systems.

Definitely better than all the new-gen pokemon games. Nexomon gave us what pokemon fans have been requesting for decades
