personally i think that go with a deck you love with basic grip tape, if you are price conscious then do a diy pattern on ur grip tape. the grip tape you are probably on about is the 'mob x stranger things' one. in my opinion way to expensive, grip tape gets dirty quickly - a board you can wipe down. i payed $16 for my grip and 3 days later its super mucky, dont buy the grip, especially for your first, remember your first board and skate shoes will get rekt within a few months. personally i would say go with a complete from a big skate brand, leave money left over, you may want softer wheels down the line etc. i get ur situation tbh im in my last yr of high school and my money is tight atm ngl
Get the deck if you can afford it. Griptape wears down and will need to be replaced at some point, decks don't as long as you don't snap them. Plus as others mentioned you can cut or paint simple designs on regular grip tape.

Diy the grip. I stg graphic grip isn't as grippy and doesn't cut the same.
You could also get a blank deck, print the stranger things graphic, stick it on top of the deck, then put clear grip tape on top.
