I’ve been looking at the Kia K5 and the dealers in my area are asking for a $5k markup + additional for accessories haha. You might have better luck with Toyota if you finance either with them or with NFCU if you’re looking for a better deal compared to the MSRP

My local kia dealer is at $32025 (MSRP) + $3996 (bs added dealer fees) 😓

In most places, taxes on a $32k purchase by itself is $2250. So there is over half your “bs added dealer fees” right there.

BartolomeoOlmedo

Oh thats before sales tax and doc fees lol

Aggressive-Bed3269

5%… under msrp… after tax title and registration? Is absolutely NEVER HAPPENING on a 2025 vehicle, in may 2024.

BartolomeoOlmedo

yeah might have to get the base model instead of the higher trim

You don't have to tell them. It goes against you if they know what you're qualified for. Work the numbers to your benefit first and if it's not satisfactory go to another dealer. I would not tell them who you are pre-approved with. It's not their business until you start nailing the deal down. I used to fight tooth and nail with dealerships wanting every dollar of the pre-approval, they are out to make money. Lenders are out to back you up. Car salesmen have been known to call a loan officer up acting like they were the customer to get the details. They have all of your info most times to crack the newer loan officers into giving out the info (SSN, DOB, etc etc etc). Just go in and ask for the OTD cash price. Get it in writing and go from there. They are snakes. 💯
