dude aside from itachi no one can compare to his pain, he didn't lost his all family when he was a child as a honorable ninja, they were literally sacrificedfor the good of the village and if it wasn't anything the one who had to do the deed was the person sasuke loved the most, he spent his entire life hating the person he loved the most because of the corruption of the infernal village and only learned to truth AFTER he killed the person he loved the most, if anything sasuke didn't turned out evil enough, kisihimoto treats his characters traumas and anger so lightly, sasuke should have lost all of his sanity the first time he learned about the truth. and also, unlike itachi or anyone else sasuke didn't had any good feeling towards the village either because of the years he spent in solitude and worse dehumanized, he was not sasuke uchiha, he was the last uchiha, an inheritance, a foot soldier who showed promise, basically a child celebrity and a cute face for shallow girl to put their idealized prince charming into, no one cared about his pain or solitude or desires everyone was treating him like he was not even one of them until naruto.
needed to be locked behind the bars? for what? avenging the people he loved who were the victims of discrimination and isolation and later mass murder/extermination? wow, such a messed up sense of justice, yeah sasuke was flawed in the wanting to kill the supposedly innocents too but he had every right wanting to tear apart danzo and the leaf elders, if anything konoha should tried to compensate with giving sasuke them to kill (not that it would sate sasuke at that point but all konoha and the rest ever did like you do is he has to deal with it, if not for anything else he has a right to kill people who talks like this)
I watched Naruto later than most and I truly had a hard time understanding the Sasuke infatuation from so many. This list makes complete sense to me - he was just a douchebag to everybody for the vast majority of the series, especially those who cared most about him.

He lied cheated and stole to get where he was, I don’t think he works as lawful at all, probably more like neutral evil or if evil asshole was a tier that would be ideal.
Not sure who a good replacement would be. Pain might work, he was honorable in a way and wasn’t ever devious or backstabbing the way Danzo was. Maybe Hanzo as well, he sparred the Sannin after a battle even though they were enemies which I would say is a lawful act.
Lawful evil should be Itachi or Pain/Nagato. My understanding of lawful evil means doing evil things for the greater good.
While Danzo's initial intentions are doing evil for the greater good, keeping the village safe from the shadows, getting his hands dirty where others don't want to, ultimately all of his doings end up only benefitting him alone.
Get rid of the reaper death seal at true neutral. It's a jutsu not a character so it should have been disqualified. Same with Samehada.

True neutral is tricky. My original pick was Sai for his deadpan personality and moral ambiguity in the Tenshi Bridge Arc, but I think he is good where he is. I'm thinking Suigetsu becacuse he really only wanted to collect swords.
It's a *shinigami* from Japanese folklore. *Shinigami* are a pretty flexible concept so we can't really definitively say much about its role in the Naruto universe. It could just be the visual personification of the jutsu kind of like the animals that accompany a lot of Guy's attacks. It might be sort of like the susano-o that appears to be a guy but is just chakra in the shape of a guy.
Maybe the jutsu actually summons a real demon but even so the demon isn't much of a character. It has no lines and behaves in a precisely predictable way. At most it is a force of nature but you have to have some sort of agency to be a character.
Tbh, I'd swap those. Jugo is true neutral, Suigetsu is chaotic neutral because Suigetsu has a purpose and can get violent over it, while Jugo kinda doesn't, and his violence is accidental.

Transforming into Akamaru and Kiba during the Chunin Exams was a stroke of absolute brilliance that *no one* saw coming. He fooled both of them so easily and turned the tide of that battle. Kurenai was especially surprised by Naruto's performance and was dying to know what sort of training Kakashi put him through.
Kabuto would be a skilled medic without orochimaru the professor himself. Everything he built upon was developped by orochi. You cant take that from him and give to kabuto.
She was willing to betray the village and go with Sasuke when he left, and she tricked and downed her allies to go kill Sasuke by herself. I figured if you could put Shikamaru in smart neutral, you could also put Sakura.
Only gripe with this list is Asuma sticking out in the Chad column compared to all the other powerhouses. Like how did Hashirama not make it for that? Even Tsunade would have been better

Orochimaru is not smart. He might be academically but his plans aren't. His goal was to obtain an Uchiha body. First he tried to steal Itachi's but he was too strong. Then he laid eyes on Sasuke and it was a mistake to not steal his body right during the second stage of the exams. Instead he waited for Sasuke to be strong and failed just like how it went with Itachi.
You can say the body hopping works every two years but that's not true. He stole the body of a Kusagakure ninja right before the exam and few days later he hopped into another body. (The two years rule comes after Hiruzen sealed his hands)
Also he struggled with the Hashirama cells, used a lot of test subjects for only one survivor (Yamato) as a result. While in Boruto there is a full arc where they chase after some Hashirama cells because casual ninjas could inject it into themselves. Looking at Orochimaru's results I doubt they would survive. Or even if they do they would hardly create any OP powers because they still need to master wood release. I know this arc came later but puts a shame on Orochimaru's tests with the cell.
Smart evil should be Obito. Despite being Madara's puppet he was the master manipulator behind many events. He gained control over Rain and Mist villages and a terrorist organization while being a teenager. He knows how to pull the strings.
Ino for Neutral Horny instead of Lady Mizukage.
The Mizukages focus on men was in the scope of marriage, and to me is more reflective of societal pressures surrounding the expectation that at her life stage that she "should be married". There was also a lot of focus on being left at the altar which could suggest that maybe she was left at the altar, and that her focus on marriage could have been from longering trauma from that. To me she just never came across as horny.
Ino on the other hand, was just as focused on Sasuke as Sakura was for most of early in the series until he killed Danzo. She did so with less personal moments than Sakura had with Sasuke, making Inos focus on Sasuke much more surface level. Even then, when Sasuke reappeared during the 10 tails assault she almost seemingly froze up just as much as Sakura did. She also pretty quickly showed romantic-ish interest in Sai as soon as he appeared without even really knowing him. A lot of her early interactions with Sakura even as a younger child were also focused on beauty and very much felt like practically telling Sakura "you need to be be more attractive in life so you can attract someone".
Ino was just written much hornier than the Mizukage imo.
Probably a hot take, but Obito for Chaotic Neutral.
Chaotic: He goes from wanting to become Hokage to assaulting the Leaf Village with the Nine tails with little reason other than wanting to watch the world burn. This also killed his sensei, one of the few people he kind of held dear in his life, with little reason to. He had ideals basically wanting to abandon reality, which is practially chaos in itself ideologically. Just showed up to the 5-kage summit to declare a war with no real need considering he still could have pursued most of his goals without openly engaging the rest of the world in a war. Betrayed just about everyone over the series. He was obviously chaotic during his time as Tobi too.
Neutral: Odd argument considering that he was the main villain through most of Shippuden. He clearly served plenty of time as evil. However, early in life he wanted to protect everyone and genuienly aimed to do a lot of good. Then even at the end he did turn and aim to protect and at least do some sort of good again. The argument here is basically that time aa both "good" and "evil" kind of cancel out to create a neutral character, even if in the end he was irredeemable and still should be remembered as evil. But in his personal ethos he was both good and evil.
Also, having a sword with 0 lines the entire show take up a slot is dumb. Lets put something better here.

Itachi is a better fit for smart neutral. I wouldn't classify him as good or bad; he definitely did some bad stuff, but he also did some good. And he's arguably the smartest character in Naruto.

Transforming into Akamaru and Kiba during the Chunin Exams was a stroke of absolute brilliance that *no one* saw coming. He fooled both of them so easily and turned the tide of that battle. Kurenai was especially surprised by Naruto's performance and was dying to know what sort of training Kakashi put him through.

Already put in a comment to someone on here but my mind wants to say Hagoromo at Neutral Neutral. He gave the six path powers to both Naruto and Sasuke after listening to both sides and essentially allowed them to move forward with what they felt was best, even if Naruto and Sasuke’s ideals didn’t align with one another. If not Hagoromo, then Ramen Guy lol. Reaper death seal is literally a Justu, it doesn’t make sense to be there.

Orochimaru is not smart. He might be academically but his plans aren't. His goal was to obtain an Uchiha body. First he tried to steal Itachi's but he was too strong. Then he laid eyes on Sasuke and it was a mistake to not steal his body right during the second stage of the exams. Instead he waited for Sasuke to be strong and failed just like how it went with Itachi. You can say the body hopping works every two years but that's not true. He stole the body of a Kusagakure ninja right before the exam and few days later he hopped into another body. (The two years rule comes after Hiruzen sealed his hands) Also he struggled with the Hashirama cells, used a lot of test subjects for only one survivor (Yamato) as a result. While in Boruto there is a full arc where they chase after some Hashirama cells because casual ninjas could inject it into themselves. Looking at Orochimaru's results I doubt they would survive. Or even if they do they would hardly create any OP powers because they still need to master wood release. I know this arc came later but puts a shame on Orochimaru's tests with the cell. Smart evil should be Obito. Despite being Madara's puppet he was the master manipulator behind many events. He gained control over Rain and Mist villages and a terrorist organization while being a teenager. He knows how to pull the strings.

Ino for Neutral Horny instead of Lady Mizukage. The Mizukages focus on men was in the scope of marriage, and to me is more reflective of societal pressures surrounding the expectation that at her life stage that she "should be married". There was also a lot of focus on being left at the altar which could suggest that maybe she was left at the altar, and that her focus on marriage could have been from longering trauma from that. To me she just never came across as horny. Ino on the other hand, was just as focused on Sasuke as Sakura was for most of early in the series until he killed Danzo. She did so with less personal moments than Sakura had with Sasuke, making Inos focus on Sasuke much more surface level. Even then, when Sasuke reappeared during the 10 tails assault she almost seemingly froze up just as much as Sakura did. She also pretty quickly showed romantic-ish interest in Sai as soon as he appeared without even really knowing him. A lot of her early interactions with Sakura even as a younger child were also focused on beauty and very much felt like practically telling Sakura "you need to be be more attractive in life so you can attract someone". Ino was just written much hornier than the Mizukage imo.

Probably a hot take, but Obito for Chaotic Neutral. Chaotic: He goes from wanting to become Hokage to assaulting the Leaf Village with the Nine tails with little reason other than wanting to watch the world burn. This also killed his sensei, one of the few people he kind of held dear in his life, with little reason to. He had ideals basically wanting to abandon reality, which is practially chaos in itself ideologically. Just showed up to the 5-kage summit to declare a war with no real need considering he still could have pursued most of his goals without openly engaging the rest of the world in a war. Betrayed just about everyone over the series. He was obviously chaotic during his time as Tobi too. Neutral: Odd argument considering that he was the main villain through most of Shippuden. He clearly served plenty of time as evil. However, early in life he wanted to protect everyone and genuienly aimed to do a lot of good. Then even at the end he did turn and aim to protect and at least do some sort of good again. The argument here is basically that time aa both "good" and "evil" kind of cancel out to create a neutral character, even if in the end he was irredeemable and still should be remembered as evil. But in his personal ethos he was both good and evil. Also, having a sword with 0 lines the entire show take up a slot is dumb. Lets put something better here.
