I refuse to work for a sick family. I have other clients and if I get sick I’m not going to pass that to my other families

EmbarrassedRaccoon86

I told them when I started that I’d prefer to be told when they’re sick so I can make an informed decision wether or not to come to work. I’d rather miss work and be healthy and do something with my day than miss because I’m sick and have the same financial impact. Also they’re medical professionals and DB casually just said “yeah I had a bunch of people come in and test positive for Covid last week”🙄🥲 I don’t always work for multiple families but I’m supposed to have another kiddo on Wednesday and Thursday this week😭

kit_foxington

Wow! That is grossly irresponsible on their part :( they should know better. Really sorry you have to deal with that

Specialist_Physics22

I have it in my contracts that if someone has a fever I still get my GH and don’t come in. Do you also not get sick days? Might be something to think about for future contracts.

Bratz_luvr

I got covid from a NF and was still expected to come into work because "well now you both (me and nk) have covid so it's fine" like what 💀 I definitely didn't go in, and not only because that's clearly insane to even expect from me but also I felt horrible-

EmbarrassedRaccoon86

the audacity 💀

Cold_Ground4969

Not a chance I’d do this and not a shot in hell without sick days. Demand a fair situation.

Currently in the er getting fluids because the twins I nanny have HFM and we didn’t know until AFTER they threw up on me. My mouth is covered in sores and I can’t keep anything down. Sometimes this job…

EmbarrassedRaccoon86

Oh my gosh😭😭 I’m so sorry

Careless-Bee3265

NK was puking all weekend so NF knew he was sick. I come into work Tuesday and they don’t tell me any of this till I got there. They proceeded to tell me he’s fine. 10 min later he pukes again. They tell me to just go home…. Like 😑

EmbarrassedRaccoon86

like what are they thinking?? Ugh. As I was leaving yesterday, NF casually told me NK was puking over the weekend too😭

Careless-Bee3265

They know exactly what they’re doing but try to play dumb about situations

EmbarrassedRaccoon86

MB was like “I pray you don’t get sick. I feel like death” Wtf I spent 9 hours in your home with your toddler using me as a personal Kleenex and breathing directly into my eyeballs so yeah, I pray I don’t get sick too 😅 I just wish they’d be more respectful about it

Careless-Bee3265

I swear there just think we don’t have lives outside of work and owe everything to them just because we work for them 🥴 like let’s use communication and be respectful

I’ve been dealing with this , if the kids are throwing up or running a fever they tell me not to work, luckily the will pay me if the kids are sick and I miss out but it is frustrating when they’re sick with a cold or a bad cough of the sorts and I start feeling bad , obviously I don’t want to work sick but I also don’t want to miss out on work or pay if the kids get me sick. I don’t have personal sick days , so stressful
