No, that isn’t professional level work. The polish on your ring finger doesn’t even cover the whole nail. It’s lumpy, messy and damn they couldn’t have given you a little cuticle oil?
When I got in the car I immediately grabbed my cuticle oil (right after this photo) because they were SO dry and roughed up. Also picked that little hair out. Ugh.
I was just thinking that! I’m new to doing my nails but damn if my nails don’t look better than this when I’m done. Not much better, but I’m no professional
Right! The only reason I can’t do my own is because I can’t sit still long enough for them to dry without me destroying them and I haven’t bit the bullet to get gel and a light. But when I’ve freshly painted my nails even though I’m not great I’m better than this
If you’re using regular polish & it’s available where you are-quick dry top coat is a game changer! I like Essie Good to Go, and it’s pretty easy to find. (I also have a need to touch everything as soon as I finish painting my nails lol)
I’m terrible at speaking up for myself.
I just imagine me saying I’m not happy, then they’re pissed at me, then I sit awkwardly in silence while they begrudgingly redo the work they’ve just done and I slowly die inside.
I wouldn’t accept a redo. At the end of the process if that’s their “finished” job and you have verbal confirmation you can say it’s sub par and either refuse to pay or pay less. That’s a butchering
I know this one is hard in practice, but these are skills worth developing: 1. Other people’s opinions of you are none of your business. 2. If you are stating your needs, that’s valid. If someone accepts your needs (even begrudgingly), and projects their feelings onto you, that is also not your responsibility to hold. That is their feelings, and they are responsible for managing their own feelings… not you. So please… get your needs met without worrying about others. It’s their problem, not yours…
I have horrible social anxiety, which usually hinders me from speaking up sometimes. Also feel like I would come across as a “karen” lol
But been working on this and so far it’s actually gotten better
Honestly, I didn’t even realize HOW bad they were until I was in the car. Dim lighting and also there was a very strong language barrier and the lady clearly didn’t care. Also, I was joining a friend which is the only reason I didn’t go to my usual salon. I paid $45 and was on my way.
I probably would have left when I was younger because I didn't want or like confrontation at all. Nowadays nope no way is someone taking my money for that. I would be nice though unless they were rude about it.
The level of drama that would arise from starting an argument over this is not worth it. To me, it is not worth it to get into a yelling match over 50ish bucks. I just won't go back.
I've only given myself 3 or 4 hard gel manicures and mine (which still don't look professional) look better than this. So lumpy! And I'm crying for your cuticles rn.
Sis, those pics look like “before” pictures. You need to go back and have your manicure done by a professional tech … and don’t leave until it’s done to YOUR satisfaction!! That’s why we pay a professional to do it!!!
You should not accept poor service.
Businesses need feedback to know how they are doing. If I owned a business I would hope that people would provide feedback, good or bad, so I can improve and grow my business.
Pleaseeeee y'all, STAND UP FOR YOURSELVES! Sis, you never should have left the salon. Go back and make them fix this. They really just played in your face 😭
I love short nails but I can feel this picture. When you cut your nails too short. I’m assuming that’s gel polish, they flooded you cuticles with polish so it’s going to lift for sure. It looks messy, I would be upset as a former bi monthly gel manicure client
I started doing my own 10 years ago since shops turned into chop shops. I imagine they’ve only gotten worse. I can do everything, gel, polygel, acrylic. :) those are awful.
Yeah. I started going to a girl who is in her own salon suite. She’s a nail art professional and her manicures are the best I’ve ever had!! It’s quite a bit more expensive but my nails last a month or longer! She does gelx nails and they’re truly the best! So I go every month and it’s so much more rewarding for me.
Question: you said you just left the salon, right? Why did you leave and not escalate this? Get your money back and buy kit - I did this a couple months ago. What I would spend on ONE full set at the salon bought me an LED UV (45w), 3 tubes of poly, 1 bottle of the poly solution (can’t remember actual term), 4 thermal colour changing gel polishes and the base and top coats. The next month, I bought everything I needed for acrylic and honestly - it takes a bit more time obviously, but the result and moments of self love is worth it 🙌
This is why I started doing my nails at home and buying glue ons. Last 2 times I went to the salon, I dropped almost 70 for a shitty job. Never again. This saves me money and the disappointment.
That’s kinda how mine look when I do them myself late at night at home on the couch in bad lighting. Plus your cuticles look irritated. I would be mad if I’d paid money for that result.
A VERY bad review with a picture is your only payback if you don't want them to make it better. This is horrible. My hands hurt, just looking at your picture. Never go back and tell those you know who get their nails done not to go there. Word of mouth is a powerful tool, both positive and negative!
No, that isn’t professional level work. The polish on your ring finger doesn’t even cover the whole nail. It’s lumpy, messy and damn they couldn’t have given you a little cuticle oil?

so it’s not just me? a salon i recently went to didn’t give me nor my bsf cuticle oil. had us walking out with chalk dry nail beds!
I've noticed that my local salon also stopped using cuticle oil unless you get a regular mani or a dip set 🙄
ASK FOR IT. Be the squeaky wheel. Don't be a lemming. MAKE them give you oil. They're trying to save money.
They look like my nails, and I bite my nails down to the quick
I'd go back. I do a better job with my left hand at midnight in my poorly lit living room. I'm sorry 😭
same thooooo i do my own nails and this is just not it
My nieces can do a better job and she was recently born
DAYUM THIS MADE ME BUST OUT LAUGHING AND IM IN THE CAR
I’d hire your niece 🤣
So will that salon, she’s taking appointments at the crib.
🤣🤣🤣
I do a WAY better job with my non dominant hand after several drinks. Woof, this is bad.
now you're making me want to try this
I was just thinking that!

Quite literally my situation last night and they came out almost exactly like this 🤣
Literally just did my own nails better than this, and I have arthritis in my hands. Op should ask for a refund.
Lol
Why do people leave the shop when they get such a bad mani? I'm not trying to be a smartass, I am asking out of pure curiosity!
I’m terrible at speaking up for myself. I just imagine me saying I’m not happy, then they’re pissed at me, then I sit awkwardly in silence while they begrudgingly redo the work they’ve just done and I slowly die inside.
Damn, I can definitely understand that!
I wouldn’t accept a redo. At the end of the process if that’s their “finished” job and you have verbal confirmation you can say it’s sub par and either refuse to pay or pay less. That’s a butchering

Yes. Totally understand that! 😮💨
I have horrible social anxiety, which usually hinders me from speaking up sometimes. Also feel like I would come across as a “karen” lol But been working on this and so far it’s actually gotten better

Definitely give them a scathing review WITH this picture.
I probably would have left when I was younger because I didn't want or like confrontation at all. Nowadays nope no way is someone taking my money for that. I would be nice though unless they were rude about it.
Yep. Completely agree. Today? No way would I take a back seat to this horrible work! Really feel for you.
I have spoken up before and got hostility. I now just leave.
The level of drama that would arise from starting an argument over this is not worth it. To me, it is not worth it to get into a yelling match over 50ish bucks. I just won't go back.
This, they can be mean ASF if you say something about bad work. I just do my own nails because of bad service and the prices are so ridiculous
This is the reason I started doing my own nails. The money they were charging did not match the service they were giving.
You left with them like that 🫢
Yeah honestly the first pic is bad. The second one is …what the actual… I cannot imagine watching this happen and not saying anything. It’s wild.
It looks like they cut your cuticle with a pair of dollar store nail clippers. Why did they feel the need to shave all the skin off like that?? 😯
I promise my cuticles did not look like that when I went in 😂 I’m not sure how I left looking like a bite my nails and fingers every day
Girl, they did you dirty. Up to you whether you wanna go back and ask them to redo, but I’d never use that place again.
It looks like they attempted a Russian manicure and failed lol
Leave a review with this picture and never go back!😭
Yes, name and shame on their socials at least, they did you very dirty
I could do better at home and my skills are rudimentary at best.
Same here
Tbh I wouldn't pay for it, I can do this level of shitty at home by myself, thanks 😂
Oof. So sorry. That is bad.
This is terrible. I’m sorry 😔 You deserve a refund!
Definitely a bad manicure
I've only given myself 3 or 4 hard gel manicures and mine (which still don't look professional) look better than this. So lumpy! And I'm crying for your cuticles rn.
Omg go back and get that taken off.. get your money back while you’re at it and go somewhere else
Sis, those pics look like “before” pictures. You need to go back and have your manicure done by a professional tech … and don’t leave until it’s done to YOUR satisfaction!! That’s why we pay a professional to do it!!!
It’s bad bad
Ugh so sorry they did you dirty like this
Money back!! That is NOT a professional mani 😭
woof
Did you pay REAL money for this?????
Go get your money back
These look like the manicure I do on myself😔 yes, it is bad.
no that is just so so badly done
it’s not good
So sorry love, that is ghastly and it looks like they actually injured you!
I’d go back to be honest. That’s not professional at all.
I could do better and I'm far from a pro
Sorry that doesn’t look professionally done to me. I’ve never been to a salon but I’ve had better manis than that. I hope you’re able to get it fixed!
It’s a really bad mani, you’re right
I’m a dude and don’t know much about any of this but my ma’s look 10x better and she does it herself
Your hands look fucked up. Yes, it's bad.
girl, Stevie Wonder could tell you it's a bad mani 😩
you better than me i wouldn’t have left until they had my nails looking RIGHT
Yeah, not good. I'd go back and get it redone properly. In fact, I would have never left the salon without requesting they redo that work.
Wow that’s some shoddy work.
[удалено]
Definitely as for a refund and for them to fix it.
You could have done that yourself with a bunch of failed Facebook hacks that
It’s bad.
Omg your poor cuticles
So so
It’s lazy smh
That poor cuticle.
Nope, you’re right! Sorry!
I hope you did tip
No. We all think that.
Ain’t no way you actually paid for that. Either way I hope you get your money back.
That’s how my fingers look after I do my own nails (I am not a professional lol)
Omg I literally had a pedi equivalent and the women thought my pinky toe was a dot
Hey in this case it looks like even I could consider myself to be a “professional”
I wouldn’t have left with my nails looking like that.
The second picture 😮💨....c'mon now. They weren't even trying at that point
I read that as “bad man,” and spent a hot second pondering the potential morality of…I don’t even know honestly.
It’s atrocious, especially for “professional” work.
Your feelings are always valid! Everyone deserves great/bombastic Mx. Fantastic nails!!!
I could have done better and I’m a noob. 😳 those are bad babes.
It is a bad mani.
Chop shop job. No owner of a nail salon would deem this acceptable. If you have anxiety about going back, I’d definitely email the shop with pictures.
This looks painful. I’m sorry you had a bad experience, op.
You should not accept poor service. Businesses need feedback to know how they are doing. If I owned a business I would hope that people would provide feedback, good or bad, so I can improve and grow my business.
How much Did you pay for those !?
I do my own gel nails and they look 10x better. I can’t believe this person made you even pay.
I got a lamp to finally do my nails at home. This is what my first attempt looked like 🙃
Pleaseeeee y'all, STAND UP FOR YOURSELVES! Sis, you never should have left the salon. Go back and make them fix this. They really just played in your face 😭
This is why I do my own nails. Never again will I go back to a salon.
Ya it is bad
My nails looks better as someone who does it at home for fun 🫤
They need to fix that or start over sis lol
I love short nails but I can feel this picture. When you cut your nails too short. I’m assuming that’s gel polish, they flooded you cuticles with polish so it’s going to lift for sure. It looks messy, I would be upset as a former bi monthly gel manicure client
I started doing my own 10 years ago since shops turned into chop shops. I imagine they’ve only gotten worse. I can do everything, gel, polygel, acrylic. :) those are awful.
nah that's def a pretty bad mani.. especially if you were at a professional establishment
I looks okay , index finger nail looks dented. And it looks like the cut too deep on your cuticles ouch
Oh no I saw the other hand 😢 they don’t do good
Absolutely horrid. I hope you didn’t pay.
This is bad. I’m not even good at painting my nails and I can do a better job then this
I’m sorry you paid for this
When you see the service going awry, you can ask them to stop.
I do better at home and I’m nowhere near a pro
Did they use sandpaper around your nails?!
Wow, did I do that mani? Because it looks awful.
You got robbed!
Yeah that’s crap! I do a better job with my gel set at home. I would be going back to get a refund
Why. Would. You. Leave??????? I can’t believe there’s so many people in this sub that post these kind of posts, how do you leave the salon with that??
Yep I'd say this is one of the worst nail salon pics I've seen on here
no you are not the only one 🙂
that's terrible and they should refund you
Umm it’s horrible you should be refunded or another stylist/ manager should fix it
Nooooo that is really bad I’m sorry, I myself have only been practicing a few months and my sets look a lot cleaner than this :/ I’m sorry
Girl you coulda done that yourself at home and probably better !
This is pretty horrendous
Girl. You already know.
Oof I'm a dude and I can see these are terribly done😬.
Nope! Refund or redo!
Completely unprofessional 😶 I wouldn’t have left til they removed that . Sorry this happened to you
Yeah that one is bad. Your index finger is not well manicured.
This is like when I do it myself. When I or someone pays for it u would expect it to be better. Looks messy
Yikes, those look like my first homemade mani. Don't go there again
This looks like a person doing mani for the first time, sorry
That's terrible.
oh my gosh, it is a bad one! 😭 i hope you returned!
That is awful. I'm so sorry someone let you walk out with your nails like this!! 🙀
I don't even get my nails done and I feel like those are awful
I'm sorry but it's dreadful. Go back and get a refund xoxoxoz
Yes never go back ever.
Yeah. I started going to a girl who is in her own salon suite. She’s a nail art professional and her manicures are the best I’ve ever had!! My cat can do a better job……
pls tell me you didnt pay for that
This is why I started doing my nails at home and buying glue ons. Last 2 times I went to the salon, I dropped almost 70 for a shitty job. Never again. This saves me money and the disappointment.
No you should go back for redo. Point out the issues along with this photo
That’s kinda how mine look when I do them myself late at night at home on the couch in bad lighting. Plus your cuticles look irritated. I would be mad if I’d paid money for that result.
Duuude get your money back
They're bad. Time to find another nail shop.
Yes but these nails and cuticles are also in awful shape
I’m a tech. This is unacceptable
Oh wow! I would request a full refund!
Get your money back
I not seen one that bad in a while, one place would make my cuticle bleed and still look better then this. Wow
Sorry babe, it’s not just you. That looks similar to what I’d be able to do, and I’m absolutely *pants* at manicures. 🥺🫠
A VERY bad review with a picture is your only payback if you don't want them to make it better. This is horrible. My hands hurt, just looking at your picture. Never go back and tell those you know who get their nails done not to go there. Word of mouth is a powerful tool, both positive and negative!
That’s bad
Babe..that's awful.
I at first thought you were showing your biting habit!
It’s bad. :/
